I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

I started mounjaro 2.5mg on 1st march. I lost 4lbs the first week and felt like my appetite had really gone and I was just thirsty so drinking a lot. I didnt have any side affects. 2nd week and I don't feel like its doing anything at all. I think I have gained weight (although officially weigh in tomorrow morning)

I have had my next order approved to go up 5mg.

Just wondered if anyone had the same? Did 5mg work better for you than 2.5mg?

YouAreEffluentKim · 14/03/2024 07:21

@izzy2076 I also made a dosing error yesterday, and injected both my priming and therapeutic doses. What a wally. I haven't had any side effects yet but it's been only about 13 hours since I took it.

So it's officially one week for me today, and I've lost 3kg exactly!! Delighted. Mostly water I'm assuming as I'm eating a lot less and trying to focus on low carb but this is a great result as I haven't really felt I've been on a diet!

I'm a shorty at 5'1 and currently weigh 76.7kg, aiming for 55kg. Would be thrilled with a 1kg per week loss.

I'm approaching my period so it will be interesting to see what impact this has on that side of things.

Have a great day all

YouAreEffluentKim · 14/03/2024 07:51

@Holly2285 from what I've read, 2.5mg is a starting dose designed to get your body used to the medication. It's not a therapeutic dose, though many people do start feeling the effects and lose some weight at 2.5mg. So I wouldn't worry (as much as it's frustrating) two weeks in that it's not working.

I've been watching TikTok and YouTube accounts of (American) women who have used it and their accounts do vary with some losing at 2.5 and others not losing till they get to the higher doses. Over the months though, the differences in their appearance is amazing and very inspiring

Mortigua · 14/03/2024 08:02

I’m not sure I did the priming thing the last two times ! Just injected it but the liquid has gone down and I had effects so presumably it’s gone in regardless ? Oh dear I am not very good at this . I have lost a few pounds but not doing as well as I could because of my wine habit.

NextPrimeMinister · 14/03/2024 08:23

@Holly2285

I had a great loss week 1, and then stayed the same week 2. I'm due my week 3 weigh in tomorrow so will see where I end up.

I've also ordered 5mg as I think I need that dose to see the results.

However I genuinely think I must be losing weight as I am eating far less than I ever have before.

Have held back this week from jumping on the scales to avoid disappointment.

There's a great post further up that explains the doses and expected results, which made me feel better as it says 2.5 is an introductory dose to get your body used to it before you move up to the doses that support more meaningful weight loss.

Ugh first week done. Have put weight on

wizzywig · 14/03/2024 08:59

Current weight 74.9kg

Updownleftandright · 14/03/2024 09:04

1st day. Felt hungry this morning and initially felt disappointed, but I've eaten one bit of toast and found it really hard. It felt like I was trying to eat an entire box of Jacobs cream crackers. My oesophagus wasn't liking it at all. Already feel full after one slice. I normally have two with eggs. So far very interesting. I don't feel not hungry as such, just that my digestive system doesn't seem to want the food and finds it difficult to want to process the food. Bit concerning, but I guess it's working.

LoadsToLose · 14/03/2024 11:04

Can I ask how you know the insulin needles from Amazon are safe and sterile? Are they medical grade? I want to benefit from the free extra dose, but am concerned sticking something into my body that’s come from Amazon! Does anyone have a link to a safe product please?

Exact same as me. I', just going to continue on though as I was reading on Reddit that my body is adjusting to the medication and preparing for weight loss. Fingers crossed we get better results on the stronger doses.

Day 1 Had 800 cals yesterday as wasn’t hungry. Trying to eat mainly protein and fruit/veg. Been very thirsty drank a lot more water than usual. Slept well, right through which is unusual for me (perimenopause)
Today is Day 2. Woken with slight headache. Not hungry. Drinking water. I’ve just had a protein yoghurt and some berries late morning as I felt I should eat something.

@Investinmyself yes. Let's go with that...

Katspace · 14/03/2024 11:42

5 days in and lost 7 pounds! To be fair it’s probably mostly fluid as I haven’t eaten that much during the day - very small breakfast and lunches - while saying that I have had fairly normal dinners with my family including carbs and have eaten quite a bit of fruit - so I wouldn’t lose weight eating that normally.

No crisps and wine and not missing them!

No side effects to speak of (yet!)

Jumping into the Mounjaro pool! I started on Saxenda last year and have lost almost 3 stone in 11 months. But I'm at the top dose because I found it was becoming less effective and had to increase and given supply problems, I've switched to Mounjaro. Hope that switching it up will give me results.

Assuming that it's similar, what I found with the Saxenda was that because I was eating nothing like as much I made sure that what I was eating was nutritous. I lost my sweet tooth and wine gave me the most awful indigestion so giving that up no doubt helped! I had a month or so off after Christmas and it seemed to have helped me to reset my habits and I only put on a pound or two in that period.

SW 15st 12.5lbs (was 18st 8lbs pre Saxenda)

Wonkypictureframe · 14/03/2024 13:20

48 hours in. No appetite at all. I’ve been eating lunch and dinner but don’t want much and no interest in food. Haven’t weighed as it’s so soon in - I’m trying to be disciplined and wait the week.

FlappyFish · 14/03/2024 13:49

Week 4 weigh in.

Height:5’7

SW: 14.1
CW: 13.2

BMI: 28.2

Another 2lb off. Impressive as I’m currently on! Not sure if I’ve carried as much water bloat this month. Mounjaro makes me so thirsty I get a dry mouth if I don’t drink water constantly.

That’s a fantastic result. I’m your SW and similar height and would be delighted with that.
Yes dry mouth/lots of water is exactly as I am so that’s reassuring.
Can I ask about your eating habits. Are you tracking cals, 2 meals etc.
I’m not sure what to do for best foodwise. Not being hungry is so odd for me.

That’s an excellent loss and a good way to do it by focusing on nutrition.

FlappyFish · 14/03/2024 14:54

I’m not tracking calories as I’m not eating a lot. I consistently eat this in a day:

one Waitrose large salad bowl
add a third of a quiche
ketchup

two marks oat crackers
2 slices of ham on them
tomato

yesterday I had two skinless chicken thighs.

I physically couldn’t eat more if I tried

Updownleftandright · 14/03/2024 15:19

I've only managed a slice of toast so far. I guess that's pretty normal for the first day and i may get better at digesting and have an appetite towards the end of the week. My fullness is in the area between the boobs. Is that normal? I think it's mainly gas. I'm going to have to rethink what I choose to eat as I'm going to struggle with regular foods. Maybe more soups. Has anyone got any tips on what try avoid and what to go for food-wise?

NCfor24 · 14/03/2024 15:35

My pen arrived today! Straight in the fridge and I'll read the info later.

Having read comments about lack of appetite and nutrition, I'm thinking of I really am not hungry (sounds too good to be true) I may use up my supply of meal replacement shakes from New You plan to help with nutrition. So a 200cal shake once or twice a day and evening meal with the family eating the protein and veg first and laying off the carbs unless I'm really hungry.
I kind of want a vague plan re food. I've not started yet but have had just fruit and fibre for lunch the past 2 days but once the kids are home I snack with them and eat dinner then munch in the evening. If I can stop the snacks I'm sure it'll show on the scales. I really want this to help me break my bad habits.
I'm trying to remember the first 4 weeks is to build up the dose and not to expect miracles but everyone seems to be doing so well, it's so encouraging.

It’s clearly working for you. Are you feeling ok eating so little?
So far today I’ve had a protein yoghurt & a handful of berries and then half a portion of homemade soup (chicken/veg) as I’m concerned I’ll feel awful if I don’t eat.

Good luck. I’m only on day 2. I do have some protein powder, a shake might be a good way to go.
