I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

@izzy2076 hopefully the side effects will be gone by day 2/3! Hopefully you've had the worst of it!

Mine is up to line 1 after dose 1. I was stressed it was more complicated than I thought. Hope you feel ok.

izzy2076 · 13/03/2024 17:44

Yes. It's going to be interesting. I'm really going to space out these next jabs over 5 weeks.

My vial only has 3 lines on it!! I'm now very confused. It was completely full after I'd done the possibly failed first attempt, hence doing it again.

Did you dial another dose when you tried the second time? I didn't think it would be possible to dose yourself twice accidentally because you have to turn the clicker thing to release another dose. Mine has reset to 0 after my first dose.

izzy2076 · 13/03/2024 18:02

@KeepingUndercover yes I did! I feel so stupid but the vial I swear, was completely full after the first time and that's why I did it again!

KeepingUndercover · 13/03/2024 18:07

I think you’ve double dosed yourself then. I’ve looked at my pen after one dose and it is not at the first big line like yours. It’s about halfway down from it. There might actually be a line there but I can’t see it.

Choux · 13/03/2024 18:13

This is what a brand new one looks like. Dose 1 takes it halfway to the first line. Dose 2 takes it to the first line. Dose 3 to the second and dose 4 to the last line. Then you throw the pen away. (Or get needles from Amazon and inject the '5th dose'.)

Hi everyone, I said I would post an update. Day 10, and so far 8 lbs down. Day 1 headache and sulphur burps, since then no side effects at all. Vastly reduced appetite. I am tracking my calories and protein on MFP, and drinking 2 litres of water a day. Feeling great. Loving Mounjaro so far

CiderJabs · 13/03/2024 18:33

For those of you taking the "leftover" dose, are you storing the pen in the fridge after it's been open? I've kept mine in my bedside cabinet and now I'm not sure what to do as it says you should keep it for 21 days :(

Choux · 13/03/2024 18:38

Yes mine is in the fridge.

I am already wondering what happens if you go on a 2 week holiday and need to use a new pen for the second week's injection as that will then have been unrefrigerated for too long by the time you get to the 4th dose.

RunningAndSinging · 13/03/2024 18:41

I always keep mine in the fridge anyway - no reason not to and it would last longer if needed. I am planning to take my 2.5 leftover dose at the same time as my last 2.5 mg dose so no issues with timing but I guess for future doses I will make each pen last 5 weeks.

RunningAndSinging · 13/03/2024 18:44

The information sheet in the box is a bit different from online. It says you can store the used pen at room temperature for up to 30 days.

Choux · 13/03/2024 18:48

Several websites say you can store it for 30 days outside of a fridge. That's enough time to take dose 5na week after Dose 4.

The query I had about needing to take a new pen on holiday for the second week of a 2 week holiday would mean it was out of the fridge for would mean it had been out of the fridge for more than 30 days by the time you get to dose 4. I suppose you shorten or lengthen the time between doses to ensure you use it in time.

ChequeredPastel · 13/03/2024 19:07

Avidly reading all your posts. Today is my second day. Definite appetite suppression. Feeling a bit weak but hoping I’ll get used to it.

thanks so much for this thread!!

RunningAndSinging · 13/03/2024 19:07

Varous options for the holiday:

Take a new pen on holiday and keep the old one in the fridge? (Although now that one is in use but refrigerated for more than 30 days).

Put the pen in the fridge when you get back - does that extend the 30 days….. not officially but it isn’t going to change that much on day 31.

Take a dose just before you leave and another one when you get back leaving the pen in the fridge at home. (I think this is my plan for the summer - less to worry about going through security at the airport etc)

YouAreEffluentKim · 13/03/2024 19:17

I've just taken my second 2.5 dose. I was expecting to need to prime the pen again but I clicked it twice as per the instructions but there was no priming symbol like I got the first time. Does this sound right? My instructions from Bolt suggest priming is required each time.

I went ahead and injected, this time in my tummy which I definitely felt, unlike last week when I did my thigh. I seemed to have to depress the plunger for a long time to get back to zero. Am now paranoid I've messed this up!!

Anyone able to confirm?

RunningAndSinging · 13/03/2024 19:25

The priming symbol is just a longer line printed onto the plastic dial. It will be the same as last week.

YouAreEffluentKim · 13/03/2024 19:36

Oh what an idiot!

I had in my mind that the priming dose symbol looked different than just a long line so I didn't depress the plunger, I just twisted it back to 0 then forwards again to 1 before administering. Some liquid did come out on the second click so hopefully haven't injected a bunch of air into myself, but I think I've injected the priming dose and the therapeutic dose. I'm so stupid! 🤦‍♀️

Side effects will be interesting 😬

CiderJabs · 13/03/2024 19:50

Thank you- yes I think as long as we are under 30 days we are good. I'm annoyed at myself for not keeping mine in the fridge now.
I'm also having to consider holidays as I don't think I should take a brand new pen with me as it won't be refrigerated so I'll have to come up with a plan that doesn't result in any waste 😤

Updownleftandright · 13/03/2024 21:13

I've just done my first one. I've felt a bit icky already today, so wasn't sure whether to wait, but my OH said you're going to feel shit either way, so may as well do it. I think he is quite keen for me to start so I stop moaning about being fat (and he's a superficial bastard too) 😁

That’s fantastic well done

Newhomenewstart24 · 13/03/2024 23:24

12pm yesterday, feel absolutely no different today. Wonder if it’s because I had a gastric sleeve in 2018 so don’t produce hunger hormone? Maybe I’ll feel different tomorrow…

Updownleftandright · 14/03/2024 06:22

I've found it very hard to get out of bed this morning. I normally do, but feel very sleepy. I normally need a strong coffee to wake me up but think I might puke. I sometimes do on a morning coffee if I'm due on though. I think if come 9am I'm not hungry it's definitely done something.

I worked out last night and had quite a small meal in anticipation of taking this and should be hungry already. I kind of feel hungry, but I'm not bothered about eating either. Is that how you feel normally? I had pretty bad morning sickness with my second child, and I'm not sure if this is at the same level yet.

izzy2076 · 14/03/2024 06:41

Side effects better today. Slightly dodgy tummy, slightly nauseous but I think I'm going to survive my 2 dose error.

I ate 900 calories yesterday, which isn't what I plan to do going forward (I'm aiming for 1400ish) this was not intentional but probably due to side effects.

I have just 'struggled' through a piece of toast. Which is unheard of.
