⭐️ Open to All ⭐️

Following on from the January thread.

February 2024! Start to get Fit & Fabulous by adopting healthy eating habits & moving more. Join-in to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st. I had a blip a couple of years ago when my thyroid went wonky but now I’m back on track.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Follow along to get Fit & Fabulous in readiness for the long awaited Spring and a bit of sunshine ☀️

WOW
SW 81.5kg
CW 75.8
Change from last week - 0.6kgs
GW 69kg

ItsTapasTime · 14/02/2024 08:01

Morning all.

5:2 and 12 hour fasts.

Started 01.01.2024
SW: 74 Kg
CW: 69.9 Kg
Loss this week: 1Kg!
1st GW: 63Kg (June holiday).

Not sure I agree with the scales today. I’m feeling dehydrated - did lots of exercise yesterday, but didn’t drink much. I think a 0.5kg loss is more likely.

EndlessGuineaPigCycle · 14/02/2024 08:11

Wow today
I impressed myself for braving the scales despite several indulgent days this week. I was pleased to see I'd maintained at 75.4 kg, I was expecting a gain!

Good luck to everyone else!

PatienceOfEngels · 14/02/2024 08:35

WoW +0.5kg. It's half term - I can live with that!

SW 77kg (beginning October)
CW 69.3kg
GW 68kg (healthy BMI!)

Today is sort the house out day. Both DC out and DH at wrk so I can do all the things I've put off.

Listening to Steve Wright on BBC Sounds. Feel quite sad that he's gone. I know he was quite cheesy as a DJ but his voice reminds me so much of my childhood, dad and home (I've lived outside the UK for 15+ years).

Today
-boiled egg and rye toast, butter, coffee
-vegetarian scotch broth
-spaghetti carbonara with broccoli

LegoTherapy · 14/02/2024 08:59

Morning all.
Half term post holiday weight of 57.55kg with my period due any day now. I'm not happy about it but I'm not stressing about it. It's the beginning of lent today and IF is back along with giving up sweets and chocolate although that might have to be chocolate except for a Tunnocks caramel wafer.

Flowerchild547 · 14/02/2024 09:03

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Happy with my loss this week. Valentine’s today so might have a treat tea later if I’m lucky!

SW: 17st 10
CW: 16st 8
TW: 10st 10
Loss this week: 2lb
Total loss: 16lb

PatienceOfEngels · 14/02/2024 09:49

I had completely forgotten it was Valentine's day until DH said Happy VD this morning! We never celebrate it. Tomorrow is our 12.5 year wedding anniversary (it's a thing here! Weird, I know!) so we may go our for dinner (with DC) then.

Just put some scones in the oven for a cream tea just because.

TheRealHousewife · 14/02/2024 09:50

Happy Valentines 💘

@afaloren Congrats on being able to increase weights 💪

Well done on your losses @LemonDrizzle23 @Gemstonebeach @ItsTapasTime @Flowerchild547 👍

It’s ok to maintain or gain a touch. Try not to worry, it can be part of natural fluctuations due to water and waste. To gain a real lb of fat you’d need to eat an extra 3500 calories and I don’t think any of you have done that 😬

WOW - 8st 13.6lbs. I’m fluctuating up and down a couple of lbs.

Newname2308 · 14/02/2024 11:03

SW 70kg
WoW 14/2 63.5kg
TW 60 then 56kg

Down 0.9kg from last week 👍
Definitely lots of fluctuating at the moment, but slow trend downwards is all I need. Clothes much more comfortable, I’m definitely moving into a small size 12 which feels good. I should probably be a size 10 for my height, so I aim for that by June 1st when I have a holiday ☀️
Doing relaxed IF, only exercise is with my willpower 🤣 but I’m using it to keep alcohol and treats to a modest level. Will be starting ‘active travel’ to work soon when I change office, so I’m looking forward to benefitting from that.

CumbrianExile · 14/02/2024 11:05

Morning! Well done everyone on the losses!

I am still lurking. Missed Monday weigh in as I was up in Cumbria for my grandmas funeral. I was going to do a WOW but I totally forgot this morning!

Anyway, back home and attempting to get back on track. Not half term til next week for us, so I have a few days to get back into the healthy habits! And planning a few walks during half term to help with the steps!

EmmaGrundyForPM · 14/02/2024 13:19

I've lost 1lb since last week so I'm now 11- 10

Need to up my exercise and cut down food more.

LumionaMoonsplash · 14/02/2024 13:39

Currently in plateausville. Unbelievably frustrating. This month I've done nothing but go up and down the same couple of lbs and back to where I started.

So, I have to make a new plan and see if that moves things: Higher weights in the gym, small meals, mostly whole foods, fasting until 12.30, last meal at 6pm. Water and tea only.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 14/02/2024 17:40

1lb down today, so pleased with that. That's half a stone since new year, with a few treat days in between so I'm delighted. Now at just over 10st 7lbs. My interim goal is 10st 4lbs (where I was last year early summer, but if I could get to 10st by the summer, I'd be thrilled. I could do with less weight coming off my face and boobs and more on my thighs though 😂😂😂. That said, I think the exercise is helping a little with the thighs, so that's really motivating me to keep up with strength work even though I am still on light weights

But for tonight, I'm off out for wine and cheese, and I've designated today as an 'easier' day on nutracheck.

Congrats to those posting losses this week, and sending motivational vibes to those that haven't. Thanks also to @TheRealHousewife for starting these threads, they really are helping me (mostly) stay on track.

TheRealHousewife · 14/02/2024 21:29

Thank you that’s very kind of you @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo although I feel it’s down to all you ladies (am I allowed to refer to you all as ladies?) who share their experiences and offer such valuable support to each other ❤️

@LumionaMoonsplash Being on a plateau is very frustrating. I’ve had a few myself. What I felt helped was to look at my intake and be really honest about portion control. I weigh stuff out even now especially the higher calorie foods. It’s surprising how a calorie creep can result in plateau's or even small gains. I hope you’re soon losing again 👍

@EmmaGrundyForPM @Newname2308 Congrats both of you on your progress.👍

@CumbrianExile Youll soon be back on it I’m sure 👌

The lack of chocolate and sweets and no eating after 6pm have been hard tonight but I've done it.

afaloren · 14/02/2024 22:24

Happy Valentine’s Day all! DH and I have planned to celebrate this weekend when we have more time so today was a normal day food wise.

B - Protein yoghurt, banana
L - Leftover protein pancakes, raspberries
D - Smoked mackerel, green beans, chocolate protein pot
S - 3 babybel lights
E - Dog walk, yoga, cardio session at the gym

Well done everyone who weighed in today.

LegoTherapy · 14/02/2024 23:44

I spoke too soon and have been feeling that awful empty sick feeling and have a headache. I've drunk lots of water which is great but my body is objecting to the lack of food this evening. I'm trying to ride it out.

I'd forgott it was Valentine's Day so happy Valentine's Day! I hope you've all had a great day🥰

upanddowns · 14/02/2024 23:55

Can I join the thread?

Fed up with getting a shock when I see myself in the mirror. I ideally need to lose two stone, but would settle for one and a half. I'm ND, very impatient, so need to keep focused somehow. I'd prefer to lose it over a month 😂 but realise that's not realistic! If I starve myself I'll lose motivation and binge, so need to get it just right. Grateful for any suggestions. I'm on a low budget, so no expensive delivered diets, although could stretch to some shakes once a day.

Currently a typical day looks like this:

Alpen with whole milk and a banana
Two cappuccinos (from Nespresso machine) with whole milk
Probably skip lunch
If I'm at home I'll have soup with two slices of bread and butter for dinner, if I'm out with DP I'll have pasta with creamy sauce or pizza (we generally eat Italian if out).

In the evening I tend to snack on sweets or crisps. I realise I need to cut this out. I've done well with intermittent fasting in the past, but I'm struggling to give up the evening snacks at the moment. I probably need to have the willpower to not buy them in the first place!

I don't drink a lot of alcohol, maybe a glass of wine if I'm out. Unfortunately DP loves puddings and I've no willpower!

LegoTherapy · 15/02/2024 09:21

@upanddowns welcome! You can do it and with no dads or special diets or foods. We all tend to focus on sensible eating on here with improved fruit and veg, less junk and increased exercise. I've lost 2 stone thanks to this thread!

56.85 this morning so a nice loss from yesterday of over half a kilo.

Porridge for breakfast as usual but not sure about lunch or dinner today yet.

Have a great day 🍾

LegoTherapy · 15/02/2024 09:22

No fads that should say!

LemonDrizzle23 · 15/02/2024 09:31

Welcome @upanddowns 👋

Well a load of prawn crackers magically added themselves to our pad thai last night 😬 definitely didn't stick to calories yesterday! Although I did manage a 1km swim and half an hour on the bike.

My DH did listen to me however and bought me some beautiful roses instead of chocolates! So I don't have a box of chocolates to make my way through for the next week.

Back on it today with the IF.

talkingdeadscot · 15/02/2024 11:26

Morning.......WOW although I forgot to post results yesterday.

SW (June 2023) - 93kg
First Goal - 72kg (achieved Christmas 2023)
CW - 68kg
GW - 55kg

A loss of 0.3kg this week. That's a total of 25kg and 10in off my waist in 8 months.

I am bored with it all though and dived into the Quavers this week. I'm scared though that if I change things to mix it up a bit I'll go off track and get fat again. Dreading maintenance already. Weird the tricks your mind plays on you.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 15/02/2024 18:11

Welcome @upanddowns I'm a calorie counter, I use the nutracheck app to log my food. It sets my calorie budget per day, but if I know that I'm going on a night out or something I set that as an 'easier' day and it reallocates calories from else where. I find it really helped me work out why I wasn't losing weight. My focus is on mostly healthy eating, getting plenty of protein and fibre, alongside some exercise.

I am very weary today, no energy for exercise, so will need to up my game tomorrow.

Todays menu:

B - scrambled egg with one slice of seeded toast and some chia seeds

L - home made tomato and sweet potato soup, small portion of cooked chicken, apple

D - a Jamie Oliver sausage pasta dish using chicken sausages

Snacks - none yet...

Thank you, I'll take a look at the app. I've used MFP in the past.

I struggle to exercise due to mobility problems, although I try to walk several times a week.

I missed breakfast this morning, had a jacket potato with tuna mayo for lunch, then my mum talked me into some rhubarb crumble with custard, but it was only a small helping. I had one small shortbread biscuit mid afternoon and I've had chunky vegetable soup for my evening meal. I'm still hungry so will probably have a banana and an apple.
