If you have a bit more to lose and will be doing this for a while and want a nice supportive crowd to hang out with while you're at it this might be the thread for you.

I haven’t updated my status here for a while and didn’t diet strongly. Nevertheless , I weighted myself today morning and it’s 83kg, making me officially overweight , instead of obese 😄 I’m very happy!

Bumblebeebum23 · 11/03/2024 15:19

Thanks everyone ☺️ so far, so good today. I am glad that I weighed in and posted rather than burying my head in the sand. It has been a very difficult and tiring couple of weeks, but I'm hoping that things start to settle. I am very aware that as soon as I'm stressed, my sleep patterns are awful, and as a result, I crave energy and comfort. However, I definitely need to see this as a setback rather than a "fuck it all and give up" moment.

Well done to everybody on your continued progress. You are all keeping me motivated x

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 11/03/2024 16:36

thanks @Hurryupharry and well done on a good day. Well put @Gabriella83

Similar to a few other posters I've had a few things going on both good and bad that has meant dieting eating a healthy, balanced diet, without overeating has been difficult. I have been close to giving up but I just can't, this really feels like my last chance. So, I've weighed myself and I'm 14st 3 which I think is 1lb heavier than last time I checked in. My aspiration to be 13st 10 by mid March is unachievable now but I'm hoping to be close by Easter

Well done everyone for your losses and especially well done for those that have wobbled but have got back to it. Looking forward to hearing what this week brings

Penguinpairs · 12/03/2024 07:33

Just checked, I hit 14st 3 on 16th February so that's 3 weeks with no movement. Actually it's been up and back down so I need to crack on!

Morred · 12/03/2024 09:08

Really annoyed today - scales showing 89.4 which wipes out a whole fortnight of losses, and I've got a horrible chesty cough that just makes me want to eat and eat. I am trying to manage it with warm drinks instead, but a cough always just makes me crave as many carbs as I can get!

I know I can't possibly have put on over a kilo of fat overnight, so it must just be a blip, but it's a bit disheartening all the same.

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 12/03/2024 15:36

You're absolutely right @morred it is disheartening when the scales go up and I know it's easier said than done but hold onto the fact that, as I know you know, I can't possibly have put on over a kilo of fat overnight. Long term it's burning fat that matters the way the scales bounce around with other factors is just static do your best to concentrate on what you're eating and the numbers should go down again as fast as they went up.

Keep going @Morred 😊 I know how frustrating it can be, but you are doing so well. Hope you feel better soon x

Sorry I’ve been missing for a bit, the ME/CFS wasn’t helpful to losing for a month. Update as of today below, I’ve been back on track for a few days

SW: 19st10 (1st Jan 2024)
M1: 18st10 1st Feb
M2: 18st13 1st March
Current weight: 18st10

Had the nutritionist late last week which helped, she’s given me a new method to try which is meal planning. I’ve just been planning one day in advance, then sticking to it as best I can. Trying to get rid of impulse eating through this approach, eg if I want chocolate I can have some but I plan it in for another day rather than just going eating it all. Well that’s the theory anyway.

HippyChickMama · 14/03/2024 11:49

I've also been MIA again for a while. Have managed to lose 10lb since 10th of January, unfortunately 9lb of that was weight I had gained over Christmas and new year. However, I am now 1lb lighter than I've been in years so taking that as a win
SW: 17st 12
CW: 15st 3
TL: 2st 9
TW: 10st 7ish

Hi, please can I join?

I joined the gym 7 years ago as I thought I was sooooo fat. I've since gained 20kg ConfusedBlush

I can't keep going like this as I feel disgusting. I look pregnant but also am fat everywhere - there are no problem areas. All of it is too much.

CW 92.5kg/14.7
TW 56/60kg or 9/10 stone.

I love to eat and don't handle being hungry very well. I eat a lot of carbs so my blood sugar is a rollercoaster. I will be low carbing and making sure I exercise more. I currently exercise a good amount and have stayed the same weight for a year which is better than putting on even more weight.

This was me. Sorry for radio silence. I'm back with a vengeance as I weighed myself this Monday and have whacked on 5kg all of a sudden, despite trying to lose weight. So disheartening. This happens every time I try. Always 5kg and always BOOM. I only have so many 5kg i can gain before I lose the ability to walk.

I thought it was because of a bad weekend where I ate a whole takeaway pizza and some other carbs and so was waterlogged but it's still there today and I have done 5km every morning and eaten well.

Well done everyone on your losses. Condolences on your gains but we will get there 💪🏻

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 14/03/2024 14:58

I am finding cutting down massively on carbs and sugar has been enormously helpful in not feeling too hungry.

OP posts:
TesticularHeft · 14/03/2024 15:56

Yep, I think carbs need to be cut down hugely. It's easy to take excess calories with things like bread (which I adore) and it causes my blood sugar to crash often. A sad day!

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 14/03/2024 16:09

I always really miss carbs, it's the texture as well as the taste. Nothing is as crispy and crunchy as crisps, no good replacements for a light soft slice of bread or a chewy topped cob or a dense nutty whole grain roll.

I do like these www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/good-guys-bakehouse-cheddar-biscuit-melts-50g

They are very cheesy flavoured wafers/crackers only 5 calories each and a good vehicle for Longley farms full fat cottage cheese or just to satisfy the need for something crispy

TesticularHeft · 14/03/2024 17:50

Ooh they look nice. I'll give them a go. I've done well today but I usually ruin any progress at the weekend and the weeks aren't good enough to help.

I did 6k this morning on the cross trainer and have eaten 1500 calories today so hopefully I can go without for the rest of the day. Even if I have some toast the world won't end.

Sionnachrua88 · 14/03/2024 19:16

Hi all, well, after a weekend of birthday celebrations, I was dreading weighing in this morning, but I lost 1kg😃
I'm pretty happy considering.

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 14/03/2024 21:13

awesome news well done @Sionnachrua88 glad to hear the birthday celebrations went well

My weigh in day is Monday, but I've a feeling I'm in for a good week, I can feel it in my bones ! 😅
Does anyone else ever feel like this , if your adamant on only weighing in once a week ?

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 16/03/2024 00:00

yeah non scale victories are awesome, the moments where you notice you're body is a little different than it was, this muscle is more defined, this skirt is looser.

I weigh myself (almost) everyday though as the range between the highest of the week and the lowest of the week is often more than the average amount of fat burnt per week.

OP posts:
Gabriella83 · 16/03/2024 07:56

Weigh in day for me. I lost a lb and 3 quarters... again. Seems like it's always a lb and 3 quarters never 2lb...I shouldn't complain! The weight is going the right way.
SW 18st 9.5lb
CW 16st 11lb
Maybe next week I'll get the 2lb loss and reach the 2 stone loss for the year so far. Hope everyone is having a good week

Hope your bones are right! 🤞🏻

I normally "feel it" and nothing haha

TesticularHeft · 16/03/2024 09:38

I've lost 3kg - down from 97.7/15.5 to 94.6/14.12

I'm ecstatic but also still sad. I never thought I would weigh this much. Seeing the numbers make me wonder how I let this happen.

TesticularHeft · 16/03/2024 09:39

Since Monday that is. But I was full of pizza and crisps so I think most is water but yay.

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 16/03/2024 10:12

I'm stuck, 8 days in a row at 205lb, that 200lb mark is tantalisingly close but I just can't get there. I need a whoosh, that wonderful day when you step on the scale and all of a sudden 3 lb has disappeared over night.

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 16/03/2024 11:36

well done @Gabriella83 consistency is good fingers crossed for you meeting your exciting mini milestone next week but even if you don't it surely isn't far away.
