If you have a bit more to lose and will be doing this for a while and want a nice supportive crowd to hang out with while you're at it this might be the thread for you.

Yes please.

5 stones would change my life.

I'm good at losing up to a stone and then I self sabotage.

IF works, reducing carbs works, moving my fat ass works, getting enough sleep works.

I deal with emotions with food, so I need to do something with those but losing some weight would help my emotions too.

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 02/01/2024 16:36

Um yeah I've found IF really healful. I'm doing 12pm - 8pm as my eating window which is really working out a lot better for me.

I'm in. I want to lose 4 stone but 5 would be a bonus. The weight loss would really help my mobility.

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 02/01/2024 16:47

Welcome @Faceache45 great to see you.

I've lost 5st 7lbs so far but could do with the same off again.

soupfiend · 02/01/2024 16:52

Five stone in 6 months is very quick unless you use surgery.

Or some of those very low cal plans

Its doable but difficult to do for that long

Bumblebeebum23 · 02/01/2024 16:56

Yay, i found you 😊 Thank you for the new thread @stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk ✨️

Hi everyone, I started in mid June with 5st 9lbs to lose and found the previous thread really supportive.

I went a bit off the rails over Christmas but I am keen to get back on track and lose the next 3 stone.

I loosely follow 16:8 IF and try my best to eat mindfully.

My sister is getting married in Australia in August and would love to be at target by then 😊

SW: 15st 9lbs
CW: 13st 2lbs
TW: 10st

HippyChickMama · 02/01/2024 17:02

Thanks for the new thread. I'm not back at work until Monday so I'm still in Christmas mode! I think I've gained about 6lbs but I'm not starting fully back on the straight and narrow until after the Galette des Rois has been consumed on twelfth night 😂
I hope you've all had a great Christmas and new year

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 02/01/2024 20:55

Fantastic loss @Duckingella well done.

You're not wrong @soupfiend 1kg loss per week requires a consistent 1000 kcal per day average deficit, that is a lot.

You can calculate your total daily energy expenditure with something like this one https://tdeecalculator.net/result.php?s=metric&g=female&age=49&kg=124&cm=168&act=1.375&f=1

then eating 1200kcal a day can create a 1250 kcal per day deficit which should average out at around 1.25kg a week.

This could be totally inappropriate for someone who was much lighter to begin with though.

Calories Needed for a 49 year old, 124 kg Female

A 49 year old female who is 124kg needs an estimated 2,591 calories per day

https://tdeecalculator.net/result.php?act=1.375&age=49&cm=168&f=1&g=female&kg=124&s=metric

Hi @HippyChickMama Whenever you're ready babes. Christmas isn't over until you say it is!

Oh I just realised I hadn't put any of this in this thread

SW 150kg
CW 124.0kg
TW (at the end of the next 6 months) 92Kg
TW (final) 60kg

in the last 26 weeks I was aiming for a 32 kg (5 stone) loss but 'only' managed 26kg (4 stone). I have just turned 49 and would like to be in the healthy weight category by the time I turn 50.

Wow, you have done amazingly.

BluePinkPurple · 02/01/2024 22:10

I’d love to loose 5 stone over the next 6 months. I need to loose about 8 stone in total

SW 105kg
TW 54kg

BusinessSecretsOfThePharaoh · 02/01/2024 22:12

I’m in.

I’m on Ozempic and have lost 24kg/3st 11lbs in just over 21 weeks and could do with losing another 4-5 stone.

I need to get back into what was a really healthy eating plan but I’m still not back on track after Christmas and am picking a lot and need to do a proper shop.

Today I’ve had-
Two protein Weetabix with skimmed milk
A portion of a type of chili I make using turkey mince, mushrooms, onions, peppers, lots of herbs and spices. Had it with some grated cheese and a small dollop of sour cream.
Vegetable spring rolls and two small pieces of Korean chicken with mushrooms.

Hey there, I'd like to join if that's okay?

I wasn't on a previous thread but I need to lose 4st 8lb minimum by October.

Losing that weight in 6 months and then any additional would be amazing!

I have started IF with my eating window between 12-8, drinking 2 litres of water a day and trying to get more exercise in the form of pushing a 2 month old in a pram!

Good luck to everyone in your journeys 🍀

AuntPru · 02/01/2024 22:45

I'm commenting so I can find the thread again. I'm not weighing myself or setting target weights for the time being, I'm just focusing on trying to eat more normally, i.e. avoiding big sugar binges and "snacks" (often 300-700 kcal) right before bed. I would love to get back to my wedding weight, which used to be my normal adult weight (albeit still obese). I'd need to lose at least 3.5 stone for that. I mainly want to improve my health as I'm pushing 40 and starting to feel far too achy and sore!

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 02/01/2024 23:02

Started yesterday, figured I may as well see how bad it was at the very beginning of the year to give myself the maximum amount of time possible to finally shift the flab in 2024.

SW - 225lb
GW - 141lb (ideal weight for my height according to the charts)

Using MFP to track food and have signed up to Aqua Aerobics once a week, first session was today and my legs may be about to fall off. Will also be hitting the gym (with headphones on so I can pretend no one else is there seeing me) where I will be scared by most of the machines so will stick to the ones I recognise.

I'm a geek so have a spreadsheet that brings me true joy to update, will be weighing daily and putting everything into graphs and formulas with conditional formatting and mini goals.

5 stone 26 weeks - Anyhow that works for you
PlumpAndGrump · 02/01/2024 23:04

Hi, I will join.

I have about double this to lose but I have previously started in Jan and lost 5 st by July so I know it is doable and seems like a good target to start with again.

Started back Calorie counting today.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 02/01/2024 23:08

I'd like to join please. I'm not quite there yet in my head but hopefully being part of the group will give me a kick up the arse. Could do with losing 5st but I'd be really happy with 3. Am currently ill which is one of many reasons I lack motivation, but I'll be 50 this year so really do need to sort my shit out. Good luck everyone

coronafiona · 02/01/2024 23:09

I'd like to join. Ashamed to say I need 4-5 stone off. It feels insurmountable.
I started the 121 diet today, I did it before and it worked. But 4 stone feels like and awful lot.

PotatoFan · 02/01/2024 23:16

I started yesterday, I’ve a holiday and a wedding in October so want to lose as much as I can by then. I use nutracheck set to a 2lb a week deficit.
