If you have a bit more to lose and will be doing this for a while and want a nice supportive crowd to hang out with while you're at it this might be the thread for you.

Wow, well done, everyone! 😊 some massive losses this week! It is so inspiring to hear everybody's progress and ongoing victories (on and off the scales). These threads have definitely helped me stay on track, so thank you for the support and motivation. Hi @Hurryupharry, glad to see you back 😊 xx

Congratulations everyone who has had a loss this week. I had a family event with lots of high calorie food and alcohol so wasn't at all surprised to see myself weighing in at 14st 4lbs this morning which means I've gone up. Back on it today and hopefully will shift the weekend weight this week

I don't think I've ever eaten so much popcorn in my life! But I do find it fills the need to snack in the evening gap when I'm desperate. I shared a galaxy bar with dh last week (which used to be a nightly occurrence 😳). It was ok but not worth the calories, I might be making some real progress finally!

GeorgiePorge · 27/02/2024 13:45

Hi all,

Hoping to join back in...I was following on the first thread but never really got off the ground with it.

However been back on track this week, ive finally got the baby off the boob so wanting to give this my all. lovely to see this thread is still going.
@stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk thanks for such an inspiring thread and what amazing losses you have achieved!

CW is 94kg think my heaviest non pregnant weight was 101kg..but got a fair amount still to lose...not sure on TW but prob around 70kg.

My first goal is to get below 90kg as that gets me to my pre Covid weight.

I'm trying to stick to IF and currently reading Ultra Processed People and Obesity code...which is really helping me to focus on eating good quality food and thinking about my hormone response.

I'm a total sugar addict, and at high risk of type 2 diabetes due to GD in pregnancy. so definitely need to think about sustainable long term change.

Well done to everyone for their amazing losses so far!

Weigh in day for me, unfortunately missed last week's as I was working away.

SW 226lb

15/01 224lb

22/01 223lb

02/02. 220lb

09/02 219lb

16/02 219lb

01/03 218lb

Just 1lb down in two weeks but trying not to get disheartened. Does anyone else travel with work? I'm finding it a struggle when I'm relying on hotel restaurants etc and there's a lot of socialising. I'm at home for two weeks now so hoping to see more progress but I really need to.find a strategy that works when I'm away.

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 01/03/2024 12:55

Ooh I love the graph @FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain but I'm sure you knew I would! Well done your hard work is really paying off. Inspiring stuff, I may need to set an hour aside this afternoon to do an end of feb analysis too.

OP posts:
stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 01/03/2024 13:13

@EnglishGirlApproximately 1 pound down is better than 1 pound on. Socialising is always really difficult, and when you're away from home there can be a real loss of control over what you eat when. So I think you deserve credit for managing as well as you did. Whilst supporting your ongoing attempts to figure out better solutions.

office / converance type setting: I'm liking these warrior crunch protein bars they're compact enough to have half a dozen in your handbag and look like you're eating a chocolate bar but are filling enough to replace lunch where you might otherwise need a sandwich (and there could be very limited choice) the full size ones are 230 - 250 kcal depending on flavour and they do half size ones too.

random cafe: ask for 2 poached eggs on 2 slices of wholewheat toast, really filling and nutritous for the amount of calories.

going out for dinner at a restaurant: no easy answer to this one sorry. Some of the chain restaurants have healthier options than others, some have calories on the menus which I find really helps make informed decisions. If you have influence to steer which restaurant the group goes to you could try to find 'good' options at 2 or 3 of the popular chain restaurants and then see if there's one of those around?

Pizza express for example - they show calories on the menu and do pizza and salad for 600 - 700 calories.

wagamama: show calories and have grilled chicken ramen for just over 500 kcal.

Suggest shared starters which you just happen to not eat ( I doubt people will notice).

If it's a much fancier restaurant channel your inner movie star and ask for an omlette even if it isn't on the menu.

@ststillplentyofjunkinthetrunk that's super helpful thank you. If I'm traveliing alone I do like a wagamama or try to find something like a pho place where I know I can eat well. It's really hard when it's catered events unfortunately as it tends to be a choice of meat or veggie - meat pretty much always ends up being a variation on a roast and veggie almost always risotto! I'd love to say I have the willpower to decline wine but that's something I'm still working on 🤦

I'll look at those bars, they look like they might be a good call!

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 01/03/2024 15:18

Arrh yes I think there are millions of us who would eagerly welcome the invention of calorie free white wine. Catered events are really annoying in terms of choice and control.

So my February total is rubbish 😔 I am only 2.5lb down since the end of January despite trying hard to keep focussed (apart from a little blip at the beginning of the month)

However, I am trying to remember that I am still moving in the right direction and that I need to keep going.

I am hoping that this bloody rain will stop soon, which will aid in my step count, and I am trying hard to track more accurately.

This month also marked my 3 stone loss, so despite progress being slow, it has been steady.

I don't think I am going to reach my 10st target (need to lose another 2st 8.5lbs) before my sister's wedding in August but will try my best to get as close as possible and I am safe in the knowledge that I will feel a lot more confident than I would have been at nearly 16 stone.

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 01/03/2024 23:20

3 stone is absolutely fabulous bumble, and I think you're right to have a positive attitude about your sister's wedding. It isn't about whether you have or haven't hit a particular target it's about looking and feeling terrific.

Thank you, @stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk. I'm hoping for a better March, but mostly, I am determined to keep up the lifestyle changes long term. This is probably the first time I have lost weight without it feeling like a massively restrictive and overwhelming diet. It has been slower than previous attempts, but I'm hoping that the longevity outweighs the speed in the long run.

Well done on your February loss x

Gabriella83 · 02/03/2024 08:02

Everyone is doing so amazingly well and getting such good results it's inspiring. Weigh in day for me today. I lost a lb and 3 quarters.
SW 18st 9.5lb
CW 17st 0.5lb
Mini goal for this week is definitely to get into the 16 stones. I feel like I've been trying to for weeks.
I feel the same as you@Bumblebeebum23 the weight is coming off slower than usual but I'm trying a lifestyle change that I should be able to stick with forever.

Thanks @Bumblebeebum23 long term lifestyle changes are definately the key I think.

Well done on your loss @Gabriella83 that 17st barrier is so so close, fingers crossed for both of us as I might get under 18st next week!

Gabriella83 · 02/03/2024 20:00

Here's to a good week@stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk and reaching our mini goal. Once I'm in the 16s my next mini goal will be 16st 9.5lb which will be 2 stone gone. Hope everyone is having a good week

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 02/03/2024 20:32

@stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk I love it when I move down into the next 'stone' it's so motivating, good luck with getting below 18 in the next week!

My next goal is 10% bodyweight lost, currently at 8.4% just need to lose 4lb to hit goal.

This is probably unrealistic but I'd really like to lose another 10lb in March, that would put me at 14 stone exactly which would make me very happy. The great big long term goal is to get to 10stone (ish) but I've never actually been that small as an adult (was in weight watchers and about 12stone when I was 11 years old) so no idea what that will be like.

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 02/03/2024 22:47

Having a bit of a rubbish time today so mini goals I might plausibly(ish) meet in March & the Easter Holidays

🎯115kg is my lowest maternity check in weight (approx. 13 years ago)
🎯114.4kg is under 18 stone
🎯112.8kg is 6 stone lost in total
🎯112.5kg = 25% bw loss,
🎯111.3kg = 2 stone lost (since Jan),
🎯111.3kg = under 17 1/2 st
🎯111.3kg the least I've weighed in 25 years
🎯110kg = 40kg lost
🎯109kg = 50% of excess weight lost (150-68/2)
🎯108.8kg = BMI <40
🎯108kg = under 17st
🎯108kg = 2 1/2 st lost since January and HALFWAY through the 5st challenge.

thanks @FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain Good luck with the next 4lb. I'm sure you'll do great! I've been browsing fashions trying to imagine what a slim version of me would look like and want to wear - hard to picture it frankly

I don't weigh until tomorrow , but yesterday got dh to get 3 boxes of clothes out of the loft for sorting.
I'm currently a size 20 , but due to a life of yoyo weight I had a load of 8/10 size clothes up there.
I do not want to set myself up to an unrealistic weight loss and not do I want to get back down to an 8 .
Even though their was quite a few items with the labels still on , they were bagged and off to the charity shop they will go.
I've also promised myself that rather than keep the larger size stuff for just in case ( yeah right ! ) they will also be leaving the house once I've gone down a size.

Size 12 , here I come !

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 03/03/2024 18:18

sounds like a good plan @Adooree adoree
