If you have a bit more to lose and will be doing this for a while and want a nice supportive crowd to hang out with while you're at it this might be the thread for you.

Well done on your loss @24Seconds2Go I think we all know exactly where you're coming from with the frustration when the effort expended to achieve the loss really doesn't feel proportionate to the actual loss but very well done for not giving in to the urge to pull a strop and give up.

💯🎯Big picture, small steps

gsoh, perseverance, and a supportive team - you've got this.

Following my own advice I just managed to order myself some new gym clothes!

@stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk love it 👏👏👏👏👏 I keep looking but I have loads at the moment I need to get falling off me 😂😂😂😂

PlantDoctor · 05/02/2024 13:40

Feeling quite hungry today. I've opened the cupboards and stared inside a few times. Trying to avoid having anything as I want to keep going with fast 800 (been doing more like fast 1000, but it's working!) for the two weeks at least. Might just take DD swimming after preschool instead, to keep myself out of the kitchen until I make dinner!

I'm chugging water but any other suggestions welcome!

Veg is really low calorie, I try to make sure I always have some asparagus/green beans/tenderstem broccoli/babycorn in the fridge, then if I really need something I can just steam it in the microwave for 3 minutes and snack on that. A small knob of low cal buttery stuff with salt and pepper or just a splash of soy sauce for flavouring.

It is usually enough to satisfy the need for food till the next meal.

Mum2lots · 05/02/2024 13:58

@PlantDoctor hey I'm no expert but I find bone broth with fast 800 is amazing x I add it to everything x Also 100 grams of liver 😳😳 it's not for everyone but it really satisfies me ! Especially after the gym or walk. A pho soup I also love which is less calories

EnglishGirlApproximately · 05/02/2024 14:08

Well done everyone, not just for the weight losses but for keeping going when it gets tough. We'll all have weeks where we don't lose, or gain, for various reasons but you know what? It doesn't matter. Apologies for the cliche but it's a marathon not a sprint, as long as we're moving in the right direction we'll get there.
My work walking challenge starts today so that will definitely get me off my bum as I'm a terrible loser 🤣

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 05/02/2024 14:09

I was thinking along the same lines as FlabMonster I don't know the specific rules of your diet but I like to have some stuff in to eat as an emergency snack when the occasion calls for it...e.g.

50g cucumber 7 calories
50g celery 4 calories
50g iceberg lettuce 7 calories
50g baby spinach leaves 10 calories
25g red onion 10 calories
50g carrot 21 calories

and you've a plate full of salad to graze on for 59 calories

These are really nice too and sucking a sweetie often gives me the feeling of having had a treat and buys time for the hunger pangs to settle down again. (they're 10 kcal each)

@stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk thanks for the 1 stone congratulations, I started with the weight people on the 2nd week of January so unfortunately they’ll only see it as 5.5 pounds lost in the first month, since I was 19st1.5 when I started with them. Unless I can magically lose some overnight to nudge it down a bit. Still I don’t think that’s too bad for a month.

Mum2lots · 05/02/2024 16:37

@PotatoFan ❤️👏👏👏❤️ that's brilliant

I haven't weighed myself as I've been at an event. Impossible to control the food situation so for lunch I had 2 brownies. Definitely not ideal but probably better than the chips for dinner! So today has been a write off but that's life.

When I need something low cal to keep me going then I have pickles, gherkins, onions, kimchi etc all very low cal and have some flavour and bite in them

Gabriella83 · 05/02/2024 18:05

Well done to everyone on such fabulous losses this week and this year so far. I agree about having clothes that fit and make you feel good as you lose weight. I can't say as I really like any of my clothes. I just go for the comfy option and seem to always wear the same things. Think it's about time I got rid of the stuff I don't wear.

HearMeSnore · 06/02/2024 10:33

DH is pleased - he benefits by default when I'm shopping/cooking more healthily and there is less cake/chocolate/alcohol in the house. He's nowhere near as overweight as me, but he can spare a few pounds and can't be bothered with weight-loss plans.

Watch him lose more weight than me! Angry

PumpkinDart · 07/02/2024 09:04

Well done on your losses! Everyone's doing so well.

I'm only a week in, made a random decision to start midweek last week.

CW: 15st2

Down 5lbs for this week 🎉 I needed that reading as I could feel myself wanting to abandon ship.

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 07/02/2024 17:19

hey there @PumpkinDart well done on you loss. It's nice to have people to share your success with.

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 07/02/2024 19:05

well my new gym clothes arrived and fit me, so that's something.
First trip out in them I got complemented so that's nice.

I've dropped from size 32 to size 24 so the difference has definitely reached the stage where it is noticeable to neighbours (but still not to my mum).

@stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk Mums are funny like that, aren't they? Or in my case, my Nan. If I lost a stone she wouldn't notice. If I put on half an ounce she would not only notice but feel the need to comment, loudly and publicly.

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 07/02/2024 20:03

Oh poor you @HearMeSnore

Well done @PumpkinDart! Great first week!

That's great @stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk! I had to tuck my fleece into my joggers when I was walking the other day as they kept falling down! (I was wearing a coat to hide it!!)

Had a sneaky weigh in today and lost another 2 pounds so that takes me to losing over a stone! 15 pounds!

woo hoo on your first stone gone @owlyboo and thank you for the giggle about your falling down trousers.

OP posts:
stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 07/02/2024 20:11

Weirdly my new gym clothes fit really well but they make me feel really enormous. I'm used to using clothes to hide in, so I feel really exposed.

OP posts:
owlyboo · 07/02/2024 20:12

Thank you! I'm super pleased especially as I haven't actually been 'dieting' so haven't felt deprived at all!

Hopefully no one saw me tucking it in! 😂😂

owlyboo · 07/02/2024 20:13

@stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk I'm sure you look lovely in them! Gym clothes are exposing but they'll just aid you with working out which in turn will help with your goal so worth it!

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 07/02/2024 20:30

Hopefully no one saw me tucking it in!

😘😂😂
