Hi there @Mum2lots welcome and well done on your loss so far!! 20lbs is a great start and must be really motivating!
17:3 - I was horrified to be honest.
I think we can all relate to the moment where the numbers on the scales feel horrifying having been there at one time or other.
Focused on ... slow walks to... relive pain and inflammation... I have to take it easy.
I think walking is excellent for both mental health and gentle exercise so this sounds like a great plan to me. 20lbs in 5 weeks is a lot, well done on getting back under 16 stone.
I deserve to live ok after me. I am worthy of being healthy.
Couldn't agree more.
So I don't plan on weighing again till 02/03 I'm putting my home scales in the bin as you do fluctuate daily and I struggle.
Whatever works for you, I found that it was really helpful to weigh myself at the same time every day but then only keep track of the highest and lowest readings of the week. It then feels natural to compare the highest of this week with the highest of last week, and the lowest of this week with the lowest of last week, and that allows me to estimate the amount of fat burnt without distressing myself about the natural inevitable fluctuations in what the scales say on a given morning. I hate the feeling when you get on the scales and there's loads of pressure on precisely what they say right now.
I'm following Dr Mosley 800 fast for 12 weeks
I'm finding intermittent fasting with a 16:8 pattern really useful and it's definitely helping to make it easier to keep the calories per day down. My window is 12 noon to 8pm and cutting out the after dinner snacking is probably the best benefit for me as I think that's where I was so often letting myself down.
My first target now is 15 stone
I like it but would also encourage you to set and celebrate the mini goals along the way, I know my motivation benefits from having a goal I can meet within the next 2 or 3 weeks to strive for.
13 stone will be a clothes shop, 11 stone I will see how I look 👀
See how you get on and maybe you'll have tons of nice clothes you're delighted to be able to get into again but I would encourage you to make sure you do have some nice clothes that fit you at every step along the way as I find it helps reinforce the 'you are worth taking care of properly' type messaging that is so crucial to long term success.
Remember your main goal should always be a happier healthier you.
