If you have a bit more to lose and will be doing this for a while and want a nice supportive crowd to hang out with while you're at it this might be the thread for you.

I am getting spreadsheet envy though so that's a project for today!

Here's a blank of my spreadsheet if it helps

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mjaVTijjOxYjXruqLq14A113BVyhDBph/edit?usp=share_link&ouid=115203243050422472278&rtpof=true&sd=true

Down another pound today, would be really nice to get to 200lb by the end of Feb but that might be pushing my luck a bit. Currently sitting at 212 lb.

HippyChickMama · 02/02/2024 09:09

I've been MIA for a couple of weeks, work has been so busy and I'm knackered! Hope you're all doing well. I'm down 6lb since January 8th, still 3lb heavier than I was on Christmas Eve 😭 but it's all in the right direction.

SW: 17st 12
CW: 15st 6
TW: 10st 7

Next mini target is to get below 15st, was hoping to do it by the end of January but 🤷🏻‍♀️

EnglishGirlApproximately · 02/02/2024 09:24

Thanks @FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain , I do like a nice spreadsheet 😄

Penguinpairs · 02/02/2024 13:29

So, yesterday I weighed 14st 6 meaning I'd lost 13lbs this year and I was elated for about 2 seconds before I realised that I'm so overweight that I've lost (nearly) a stone and no one has even noticed! Then I looked properly at my end goal and my 10st 9 target will still leave me overweight (I'm short!). My actual target needs to be closer to 8st 7. I'm using Noom for the psychology and with my new target I should now reach my goal just before Christmas instead of the start of summer holidays. I don't know why this bothered me as much as it did, I mean more to lose is going to take longer. But the upshot is I ate scones with cream & jam until uncomfortably full and now weigh 14st 7.

I've had a good chat with myself. I'm not dieting, I'm eating the way I'm going to have to eat for the rest of my life so it doesn't matter when I hit target as nothing will really change in terms of eating habits. I've had 2 scrambled eggs, hm baked beans and 2 cups of coffee so far today. Don't feel hungry and I'm back on track.

Just wanted to say thank you to this lovely group who inspire me and keep me on track. Have a lovely weekend everyone

PlantDoctor · 02/02/2024 13:35

Wow @Penguinpairs, well done for turning your blip around so quickly! I know I'm prone to downward spiral once I fall off the wagon so that's really impressive to me! :)

100% THIS.

"I'm not dieting, I'm eating the way I'm going to have to eat for the rest of my life so it doesn't matter when I hit target"

Terrific attitude.

Weigh in day today
SW 18st 9.5lb
CW 17st 6 and a quarter
I lost 2 and a quarter lbs this week.
Period is due so I hope to stay on track this week and lose a lb or 2. Hope to be under 17st in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Penguinpairs · 03/02/2024 09:21

Thanks plant and still I, like most people on this thread, know everything there is to know about dieting and usually I try really hard for a few days, promise myself that this time is be it. I set myself ridiculous targets then something happens and I just have a binge and give up. This is the first time that something has really 'clicked'. Everything I've tried before doesn't work so, yes, I could go into a downward spiral but that won't move me closer to my goal. Healthy, balanced eating being the driver and weight loss a natural consequence iyswim? This is the 3rd time I've tried Noom, never got on with it before but this time it seems to be working. I can't remember that last time I stuck to a change in eating for so long

Well done Gabriella. Have a good weekend

Bumblebeebum23 · 03/02/2024 11:19

Well done on everybody's successes and positive mindsets.

I have had a bit of an awful week food wise and have fallen into some bad habits again 😢. This is a pattern I have seen in myself so many times before and yet I am going down the same slippery slope. As soon as I start feeling better about myself, I just become complacent, and my motivation drifts. So much of my drive to lose weight comes from feeling absolutely shit about myself, so as soon as my confidence improves, I lose the drive. I know it is completely ridiculous because by returning to old ways, I will return to feeling rubbish and rationally I know that. Sometimes, l just feel like the psychological side of things is so much harder than the actual mechanics of losing weight.

Anyway, I hope that by writing this, I can reset myself and get back on track.

I also had a bit of a NSV this morning. Fitted back into my lovely FatFace jacket (which I love). Trying to focus on the pleasure I get from moments like this and remembering the reason I started in the first place. I am trying to be kind to myself and recognise the reasons behind my issues with food but sometimes it is just so hard

Sorry for the long vent! As always, I am grateful for this group x

You've totally hit the nail on the head there I think. Well done on getting your lovely jacket back into the 'now' part of your wardrobe!

Horrible photo warning, but it's part of me trying to be accountable (or shame myself into keeping going! One or the other)

Beginning of January versus beginning of February, 12 lb difference

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 03/02/2024 12:22

wow @FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain I can really see the difference there. Well done for sharing your progress pics - really brave!

Well done @FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain looking good! Can see a big difference on your arms and chest.

Weigh in day for me. Switched from a Tuesday to a Saturday as easier without the rush of the school run!

SW: 100kg
CW: 94kg

Loss this week of 1kg

Total loss 6 kg (13 pounds)

One more pound and I've lost a stone. Whoop.

After a truly awful year last year (divorce) I'm finally starting to feel myself and taking care of myself is one of things I'm determined to focus on this year. The year of ME!

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 03/02/2024 13:02

nice job owly

I like reading everyone's comments and experiences on their weight loss journey.

@FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain wow you can really see the changes already....makes me wish I'd taken a photo each month. DH suggested it(he says he can't notice by looking at me) yayy that's a confidence boost for all my effort😅I often wonder how much I'll have to lose before people at work start to notice.

I can relate to what you've said@Bumblebeebum23 I've done exactly the same thing too many times than I want to remember! I'm determined this time it will be different. My motivation is to be slimmer for summer. I know I won't be at my final goal by then but to be able to feel comfortable in some summery clothes rather than feeling like I need to cover up is what's keeping me going! Hope you all have a good week.

Bumblebeebum23 · 03/02/2024 14:37

Thank you @Gabriella83. I'm really hoping to break the pattern this time. I'm sick and tired of yo-yoing

PotatoFan · 03/02/2024 15:25

This thread is really helpful, thanks for all your positive mindsets.

I haven’t had a late evening snackfest the last few days which is the thing I need to learn to control so I’m pleased with that.

My weight had plateaued for a week or two but has now started moving again. I’m just willing it on to continue moving as it does help motivation.

The last time I seriously lost weight (8 years ago!) i was 4 stone down before I got the first have you lost weight comment!! I weighed more when I started this time so not sure how many stones it will be until anyone notices. I’m keeping it secret unless anyone asks though.

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 03/02/2024 17:03

Thanks @Gabriella83 @owlyboo and @stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk I think I see a difference in the photos too even if I don't see it in the mirror.

I did photos monthly last time I lost weight and found it really helpful because you get used to what you look like when you see yourself everyday so it's hard to appreciate the difference over a longer time. Plus all my clothes are jersey and elasticated so can't use them to gauge anything 😂

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 03/02/2024 17:09

Monthly photos are a good idea I think @FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain but I really hate having my photo taken so I really don't think I'll be brave enough to post them.

I can confirm that there does come a point where even elasticated jersey clothes feel stupidly big. Unfortunately I generally kind of hate clothes shopping.

@FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain that's a fantastic difference! Very motivational!

@Bumblebeebum23 I feel like I do that every time too. Definitely a slippery slope. You're doing so well though, remember the feeling of seeing that starting weight number on the scale. Mine definitely shocked me into action.

Bumblebeebum23 · 03/02/2024 22:40

Thank you, @PlantDoctor. You're 100% right. I feel like I am back on it today, so I hope I can maintain it. I definitely don't want to be going backwards

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 05/02/2024 06:35

Monday morning weigh in

SW - 1st Jan - 225 lb
WC 5th Feb - 211 lb

Loss this week 2 lb
Total Loss - 14 lb

Bumblebeebum23 · 05/02/2024 07:43

12st 12lbs this morning, so 1lb up this week 😥 It's not great, but it could have been worse. Posting on here on Saturday really helped regain some focus and motivation after a rubbish week, and I managed to eat much more mindfully over the weekend.

I'm hoping to continue the momentum this week.

Have a great week, everyone

SW: 15st 9lbs
CW: 12st 12lbs
TW: 10st
