If you have a bit more to lose and will be doing this for a while and want a nice supportive crowd to hang out with while you're at it this might be the thread for you.

my bad day is unrelated to weight loss but fwiw appears to have impacted my appetite. Only on 240 calories so far today, I want to cry but I don't want to eat. Which is interesting insofar as eating used to be my main coping mechanism when stressed and miserable

So at least there's that lol.

Try to have something @stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk what about a mug of soup if you have any in the cupboard. It's warm and soothing and you aren't likely to associate it with bad emotional eating like we do with chocolate or cake.

Hello 👋

can I join? I’d planned on starting at the start of the month, but had flu, so started properly this week. I’m 5’6” and 42, I put on a load of weight during covid, got some of it off, but put some back on last year. I started January at 209lbs and want to end up somewhere between 9 and a half and 10 and a half depending on how it goes.

I’m planning on combining fast 800 and Mindy Pelz fast like a girl cos I really struggle to fast the week before my period, and combine that with Caroline Girvan workouts. And no wine…

weighed in today so here we go!
SW: 209
CW: 204.2

sorry, that was an essay!

BusinessSecretsOfThePharaoh · 19/01/2024 19:14

Sorry you’re having a bit of a miserable day, @stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk

I hope it’ll pass soon.

RunningKatie · 19/01/2024 19:36

Hope you're feeling better soon @stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk.

I've had a good day food wise but haven't really drunk any water, I was working somewhere where access to toilets is limited so as a consequence don't drink a lot.

Still keeping snacks under control, we have crisps in the house but I buy flavours I don't like in a bid not to eat them! Cheese & onion anyone?!

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 19/01/2024 21:32

Thanks everyone. I'm feeling a lot better now. I ended up having a massive dinner so I have that ideal combo where it tasted extra good because I was so hungry and now I'm all full.

I'm really grateful for all the kind messages through the day.

Hi @weknowfrogsgotralalalala absolutely more the merrier, welcome and I'm impressed with your level of planning. Perseverance and a gsoh and I'm sure you'll do really well.

I came on. Diets off.

I did everything perfectly this week. Did 2 runs. Was in deficit most days. Felt slimmer, scales (i weight everyday) looking good. Stepped on today and I’ve gained 2lbs. So I ate a massive Belgian waffle and some pizza.

I’ll pick up again when the period is over 😭

Bumblebeebum23 · 19/01/2024 22:12

Sorry to hear you've had a tough time @stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk. Hope things continue to feel better for you xx

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 19/01/2024 23:04

Oh poor you @SisterAgatha a Belgian waffle and pizza sound entirely reasonable under the circumstances. Just remember creating a calorie deficit burns fat, burning a pound or two of fat doesn't guarantee that the scales won't go up if your body has decided it's time to hold a shit load of water. ( If you'll excuse the technical language).

Try to stay under maintainence calories for a few days and then start again when it's over.

Thanks for the welcome @stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk I’m rather all or nothing by nature so trying to make sure I have a way to manage things when I have a wobble and make sure I don’t throw in the towel 😂

Hello. Been following this thread since new year. I am the heaviest I've been in my life including pregnancies and it's making me miserable. 4 stone to lose, 3 is my initial target as I know I look like me and feel pretty ok at that. It's great reading stories from those with similar amounts to lose. I started when I returned to work on 8th Jan and these are my stats so far. Most of my clothes don't fit and I live in the small number of bigger jeans and jumpers I've bought since ballooning over last 2 years. Gone from a 12 to an 18.

Well done on your loss @Gabriella83 3 lbs is great. Good luck on you mini goal 🤞 maybe even next week.

Yeah no towel throwing @weknowfrogsgotralalalala - it's much more satisfying to throw chipped crockery (just don't throw stuff at people).

Hi there @0C6H10O5n I do recommend getting some clothes that fit you. It's part of the psychology of treating yourself well and it does make a difference. Even if it's just cheap stuff from Amazon or a charity shop.

Some styles will fit you look good and then continue to look good as you lose the weight.
I got a bunch of wrap skirts so that they'll carry on fitting me as I lose weight. Forgotten tribes have some cool stuff.

hi your weight and goals are the same as mine pretty much
here’s to a slimmer future , welcome

0C6H10O5n · 20/01/2024 16:07

Great to be in the same boat as we face this challenge. I used to find it far easier to reverse when I was younger (and it was only ever half a stone or so to lose) but I suspect perimenopause and working from home have put an end to that.

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 22/01/2024 06:32

For anyone interested 3.75 kg in 3 weeks ( or 8 lbs) IS on track to lose 5 stone in 26 weeks.

Mini goal 13st 13, ideally by the end of February

5lb off for me this week. As you can imagine I'm really pleased with that. I weigh everyday and did see 14 9 on Friday but can't help but relax over the weekend so some wine and (small) pudding have caught up with me. I feel like because I have a lot to lose and I'm at the start of my journey I can afford to do this but as I get closer to goal I'll have to cut these out too. But that sounds miserable! Anyone have any tips or strategies for for giving up the treats without feeling you're missing out and blowing the whole week with a binge?

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 22/01/2024 07:23

Well done @stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk

I am on track for 211lb by end of month which will be 1 stone in a month and I'll be very happy with that. I suspect loss will slow the further into this I go because my calorie allowance will reduce and it's always harder to lose when you have less to lose.

Just realised my period is due end of this week so I know I'll hold onto water this week unless I drink lots so that's the focus for this week.
