A fresh new month; perfect time to re-set the mind, outline goals and affirm intentions. A fresh start to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to stay healthy, lose weight as well as those who wish to maintain; to encourage a healthy & varied diet and to exercise.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 1lb. I had a blip a couple of years ago when my thyroid went wonky but now back (mainly) on track. I Would love to wave bye to another half a stone 😬 The main thing is to never give up! Keep going!

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

PS - Positive thought:- If you were to lose on average of a 1lb per you could be a stone lighter by Christmas 🎄

@GonnaGetGoingReturns thanks for writing about the pineapple as I'd forgotten to buy some for the cheese and pineapple on sticks for our Halloween tea tonight!

Meecrowavay · 31/10/2023 10:07

Hello, my GP just told me about a "lose it" app. Is this what this thread is linked to?

TheRealHousewife · 31/10/2023 10:11

@Meecrowavay No these threads are not affiliated with any app/book/website.

Thanks. Just a general weight loss thread? I may join you anyway!

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 31/10/2023 14:07

@Meecrowavay it's not just a general weight loss thread, it's @TheRealHousewife 's LOSE IT thread! One of amazing support and motivation where there's no inter thread competition or any mad diets or fads or crazy weight loss misconceptions. Welcome!

That’s funny! Glad I helped to remind you.

That’s really kind of you @JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots … although I’d say it’s the lovely members who are at the heart of it with their generous support, inspiration and fabulous recipe suggestion's that make it what it is ❤️

Aye but if not for you we would t be here on THIS thread. We'd have to be on a crazy thread😱

Halloween has ended on 2000 calories in and 10.5 miles walked. I'm ok with that for a celebration day. No mad out of control scoffing of Maltesers or sweets. It could have been a wild frenzy but no.

Ending October on a positive note. Thanks everyone!

WoW 55kg

It's an increase from last week but not unexpected- I've celebrated two birthdays with all the cake and dinner and desserts that comes with it, the half term break meant I ate more ultraprocessed foods that usual, plus I should be expecting my period soon and from tracking daily I can see there's always an increase around this time that eventually goes down post period.

I’m just going to finish October here:
SW 70kg
31/10 66.9kg

i’ve lost my mojo a bit, and will attack November with more enthusiasm than I’ve had the last week or so. Still, I’m happy to be just under 67kg. Need to get back to logging everything - that keeps me accountable and mindful.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 01/11/2023 20:18

No change again this week :/

Have started a pilateies class which will hopefully help my core and tummy.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 01/11/2023 20:25

Starting the month at 10st 10, would love to be at 10st 4 by Christmas. Not the best day today as had a work lunch that made low calorie options impossible, but I did opt for things that would be good for gut health so that was something... No time for exercise either, but I walked back to the office instead of getting a cab so I could get some steps in. Good luck everyone!

TheRealHousewife · 02/11/2023 08:19

@Newname2308 Great progress to date 👏

@LivingDeadGirlUK Try to not get disheartened, plateaus are frustrating but normal in the scheme of things.👍

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo Great idea to walk rather than take a cab! We’ve gone over to the LOSE IT! Christmas thread, hope to see you there 😊

How's everyone getting on? I'm wobbling around the same old weight and finding it really difficult to get going this time. This week I am planning to;

Reach for the water before eating anything.
Defer snacks by a few minutes to see if I really need them.
Minimum 13:11 overnight fast working up to 16:8. I lost my fasting mojo and need it back!
Log all foods in MFP and stay within my TDEE.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 13/11/2023 20:01

I need to sort my snack game out tbh, started reaching for treats because there is nothing healthy to hand. Going to get some fruit and nuts to hand. I'd love to be the kind of person who snacks on veggies but I just can't be arsed with the prep.
