Have put on just over half a stone in the last few months. BMI still within range, but am short so makes a difference in how I feel and how my clothes fit.
Would love to think I could get it off in a few weeks, but realistically in my 50’s, menopausal plus being greedy and loving wine, this won’t be happening 😩.
I have signed up to Nutracheck as so much more user friendly than MFP and am hoping will keep me accountable.
I find daily weighing helps and will be trying to log my weight on here….

SW 60.8 kg
CW 60.8 kg
TW 55 kg

Would love some support from others feeling similar!

Congratulations @BaconAndAvocado you're so very close!
It's tough @Lucie11 but like you say, if you give up now it's likely you'll just end up with more to lose. I joined in on here as much to maintain where I'm at now as to lose the last little bit. I'm mid thirties now and the difference in the last ten years has been really noticeable- eating like I do now would see a 2lb per week loss in my early twenties. Now I just about maintain, and I don't drink anywhere near as much!
Today is my "off plan day"- I nearly peeked at the scales yesterday but didn't want to risk ruining my mood/weekend- I'll try not to go too wild and just see what happens on Tuesday weigh in.
Thanks for all the lunch ideas, I've added some cous cous in which is a nice change, and pitta pizzas in the air fryer were delicious.

iloveyoghurt · 16/09/2023 07:15

My weight seemed to be stuck on 55.4 and 55 for the last 10 days . I have been following my plan and ,but its so slow. A few years ago i would loose much quicker. The day i turned 40 this year i think like something changed and my metabolism slowed down a lot. Last night i had 2 glasses of wine instead of dinner and this morning i am 54.7kg. I may try the wine diet now,i usually only drink alcohol like twice a month.

Good luck for the weekend everyone!

Well, I avoided the boxes of Maltesers last night but my friend brought me and DH a bag of Minstrels and we polished off the lot….

Back on the regime Monday 👊🏻

Hi abitwobbley

We've got a similar challenge. I've been doing it for a while but have not plateaued which is frustrating.

SW: 83.5kg
CW: 77.5kg
TW: 75kg

What's hard for me is I had a lot of motivation at the beginning but I've lost that a bit now. But you've done brilliantly to have lost four stone. You know you can do it as you've done it before.

Are you exercising or dieting more? I find exercise works well as it helps me to be motivated to eat better (if you know that chocolate bar will undo an entire aquafit class it concentrates the mind!).

Greenberg2 · 18/09/2023 09:52

*have plateaued.

Heronatemygoldfish · 18/09/2023 13:10

Monday weigh-in here too. I've definitely plateaued/gone slow. Only a pound (half kilo) off this week and from the exercise I've been doing and what I've recorded as eating, I should have lost 3lb. Here's hoping it's forming muscle!
SW 83.7kg

Little by little...

Abitwobbley · 18/09/2023 17:44

Hi @Greenberg2!
Nice to meet you!

Yes, plateaus are very frustrating. Have you tried having a day where you eat more and then back to the diet? Often this can kickstart the weight loss again.

I’ve actually lost the motivation to exercise since I started working recently in quite a physical job. I get too tired! But my motivation is good with my diet. I was fed up that I couldn’t wear my nice summer clothes in the recent hot weather, I was too self conscious. So I’m back on the right path now at least.

‘But you've done brilliantly to have lost four stone. You know you can do it as you've done it before.’ - Thankyou for your kind words 😊

Good luck getting through the plateau!

Lollyloup91 · 18/09/2023 20:12

Hi all, can I join?

I'm 33 and 5ft6 ish. Had DC 2 nearly 14 weeks ago so I'm in the postnatal period still but I am not breastfeeding and trying to get back to my old size 8/10 self before Xmas.
Sorry I work in pounds and stone so will start by telling you those and I'll aim to get into kg as I go!

SW 10 stone 6
CW 9 stone 13
TW 9 stone 7

So I don't have much to go but my god I'm finding the I do 1/4 to 1/2 a week now and it's really demotivating given I am really hungry every eve due to a smallish dinner and running up to 5k twice a week and walking nearly everyday.

Looking forward to some tips and extra motivation on this thread! 😊

Lucie11 · 19/09/2023 19:25

Hi all and welcome newbies.

back down to 59.4kg….can’t really be bothered this week for some reason. Am being ok, but don’t feel like I have the headspace for it. Think I’m feeling a bit under the weather, very tired and achy.

I am riding this week out by being as mindful as possible and not pressing the fuck it button!

OP posts:
BaconAndAvocado · 19/09/2023 19:52

Lucie11
I’m feeling exactly the same.
Feel really miserable and want to stuff my face with rubbish.
Been really aggy with DH tonight.
Can’t wait for bedtime.

Hang in there 🤗

Summerscomin · 20/09/2023 09:05

Hi everyone, it was half a lb on for me yesterday, after a particularly busy social weekend. It's certainly not as bad as it could've been!
Relate to those of you feeling a bit unmotivated, I've tried to beat it by trying some new recipes and buying things I wouldn't normally. I made the Slimming World BBQ pulled gammon on Monday, it was delicious (and fits quite well with calorie counting too). Lots of leftovers and I've frozen some too. My frozen meal stash saves me/DC several times a week!
I bought some orzo yesterday, planning to tweak a risotto recipe using it.
Today feels like soup weather! I have a portion in the freezer somewhere, then I'll need to restock. I'm not very good at homemade soup though, so I might try and find a foolproof recipe.

BaconAndAvocado · 20/09/2023 11:18

Summerscomin I made this soup alot in lockdown. It's super easy and really tasty.
I don't know how to do links but I'm sure you can find it.

Hi @Abitwobbley

Good to meet you too.

The reason I need to exercise is I have a very sedentary job and work from home! So if I don't exercise, I spend an awful lot of time on the sofa...Probably better to have a physical job than exercise regularly, as you have to do your job whether you want to or not.

I've got a big work thing next week so hopefully I can recommit to it all after that. I'm always a bit in conflict though, as for example I made a big pan of soup and then ate some crisps, lol.

Thursday
SW 83.7kg

300g down in half a week so again heading for half a kilo off.

But I'm comfortable in my M&S size 12 work trousers again at last! I've a couple of Hobbs size 12 dresses I want to be able to wear again because they were jolly expensive and I love them, so this last 3kg is critical. I'm also starting to be able to run again without my joints playing merry hell.

Lucie11 · 21/09/2023 20:08

Hope everyone is having a good week.
I’m still feeling bleurgh and today have mainly eaten bread and chocolate 😬Feeling really run down, cotton wool head, aching joints etc.
I have ordered a blood test kit today to check thyroid and vitamin deficiencies….I can’t be bothered with the palava of an econsult and trying to describe vague symptoms!
I definitely have some symptoms of underactive thyroid - hard to lose weight, joint pain, tiredness, feeling cold and constipation (even on days when I don’t just main line carbs and chocolate 😂).
Anyone have any experience of this? Or maybe this is fifty something and as good as it gets!!!
Sorry for the negativity!

OP posts:
BaconAndAvocado · 22/09/2023 07:29

Oh no! Hope your symptoms improve Lucie11 that sounds dreadful.

I'm taking some time off the healthy eating regime.
Ended up at the minor injuries clinic yesterday after our Lab bolted on the lead after seeing a cat and took my fingers with him!
Luckily, nothing broken but I can't use my left hand so a bit incapacitated.

Whilst at the clinic, the phone charger in DS2's bedroom caught fire. No major damage, everything smells of smoke.

Then after DS2 had very kindly cooked dinner, he accidentally left the gas on....

Today is a new day 😀

Hungryfrogs23 · 22/09/2023 10:06

Feeling a bit deflated over here. I've been eating OK and have started doing the school run on the bike with a tag along for my daughter on the back. So every morning this week I have cycled 3.5miles on the bike pulling an extra 35kg behind me.

I've lost nothing. Not a gram. 🙄🙄

But hopefully done something to help my cardiovascular health 🤷

Lucie11 · 22/09/2023 11:06

Oh @BaconAndAvocado sounds like you’re having a rough week! Hope your hand feels better soon. Definitely take it easy.
I’m feeling better today so must try hard to undo some damage!

OP posts:
BaconAndAvocado · 22/09/2023 11:08

Glad you're feeling better Lucie11
It may take me some time to undo my damage!
I've got the Velvetiser out this morning (well it IS Autumn!!) and just had a cup of coconut white hot chocolate. God it was good!

Lucie11 · 24/09/2023 22:12

Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

Mine has been fun, but not particularly diet friendly 😩.

I can’t seem to get into the zone….same old thing, not overweight particularly so easy to think ‘sod it, I look ok.’

However, I know I would feel so much better half a stone lighter….and on it goes!!

OP posts:
Summerscomin · 25/09/2023 06:59

@Lucie11 "I can’t seem to get into the zone….same old thing, not overweight particularly so easy to think ‘sod it, I look ok.’"
Exactly the same here!!
But how do we change this?!!
My weekend hasn't been very diet friendly either, I've cooked fantastic food but one of the recipes I used called for A CUP of double cream. Yes, it served 4, yes it was delicious, but A CUP! (250ml or thereabouts).
I haven't particularly meal planned this week, hoping to use up some stuff from the freezer. I know there's plenty of meat in there if I can remember to defrost some.
I have a back injury that's flaring pretty badly and a whole heap of other stress I won't bore you all with and the food obsessing is just adding to it.
I wondered about setting a goal but with current mindset I'm setting myself up for failure 🙈

GadgetArms · 25/09/2023 10:02

After being so positive I have gained this week. Back up to 65kg.

Had a weekend away and a particularly busy week which lends to picking at food.

Need to get on top of the meal plan this week.

BaconAndAvocado · 26/09/2023 08:48

Had a not so great weekend re eating and exercise.
Indulged in lots of comfort eating: cheese scone, a Ripple etc

Back on it yesterday. Went to the theatre last night and had only 5 Maltesers. Quite a record for me!

Good luck everyone 😊
