Have put on just over half a stone in the last few months. BMI still within range, but am short so makes a difference in how I feel and how my clothes fit.
Would love to think I could get it off in a few weeks, but realistically in my 50’s, menopausal plus being greedy and loving wine, this won’t be happening 😩.
I have signed up to Nutracheck as so much more user friendly than MFP and am hoping will keep me accountable.
I find daily weighing helps and will be trying to log my weight on here….

SW 60.8 kg
CW 60.8 kg
TW 55 kg

Would love some support from others feeling similar!

Well I fell down massively this weekend. I blame the nice weather!

Going to weigh tomorrow. Hope my efforts during the week have cancelled out the weekend! Not betting on it though.

MrsGolightly · 10/09/2023 20:33

Please can I join you all? I'm around 64kg, want to be 60kg. I feel as it's not a huge amount it's easy to just become complacent about it, but my clothes are tight and I know 4kg would make a big difference...

Jasperdale · 10/09/2023 22:13

Absolutely crap here. Eating 1200 Cals all week and walking everywhere and not lost anything!

GadgetArms · 11/09/2023 07:28

Ok so did the weigh in, not as bad as I thought.

SW: 67kg
CW: 65.7kg
TW: 63kg

Weather cooler this week so hopefully less ice cream and beer temptations!

Good luck everyone

DearRose · 11/09/2023 08:49

Mmm ice cream and beer @GadgetArms

Currently

SW 61.5kg (ish... my old scales weren't great)
CW 59.85kg
TW 55kg

So quite a way to go, but I'm happy to be under 60kg at last, woohoo!

Lucie11 · 11/09/2023 16:41

Hi everyone, not a great weekend really. Lots of socialising which equalled too much wine. Not lots of food, but what I ate was pretty unhealthy stuff!!

However, I will move on, today has been much better and only healthy food has been consumed!!!

I will weigh later in the week.

Heronatemygoldfish · 11/09/2023 17:23

I'm delighted today. Monday is my official weighday and I have somehow dropped more than expected. Makes up for not much the week before!

SW 83.7kg
CW 65.7kg
TW 62.0kg

SheepBeepBeep · 12/09/2023 07:16

I forgot to weigh yesterday but have just weighed and have a small loss for the week, so in the right direction. I’ve been to the gym a couple of times a week and on plenty of walks with the dog, plus have been aiming for proper meals and less snacking. Also got one of those large water bottles that have times on them, and finding it much easier to drink from that than a glass of water. I like water anyway, but finding I’m getting more volume in this way, and as a consequence, having less tea and hot chocolate!

The only spanner in the works is these blooming HRT patches that is started 2 weeks ago seem to have me really bloated and I wonder, if I wasn’t retaining so much water, would I be seeing a better result on the scales? Will keep plodding on!

SW - 59kg
CW - 58.5kg
TW - 56KG

Summerscomin · 12/09/2023 18:30

@Lucie11 your weekend sounds similar to mine- not terrible but could've been much better. However, I weighed today and I'm 2.5lb down. It sounds great, but I think last week was a bad weigh in due to bloat/time if the month.
I've actually planned my weeks food this week and, so far, I'm sticking to it. Saturday is a write off as I have going out plans, but if I can do my best before and after I'm hopeful.
Does anyone have any meal inspiration to share? I'm struggling for lunches especially. I've been having soup/sandwich/jacket potato but I think I could do better.
I found some good recipes to try on Slimming Eats and The Slimming Foodie, will report back if they're any good.
@SheepBeepBeep and @Heronatemygoldfish great news on the losses, every little helps when you haven't far to go!

Lucie11 · 12/09/2023 19:57

@Summerscomin sadly this is the story of my life! I find weekends hard due to the socialising and even if I’m not out, my husband and I like to have a few drinks and some snacks in front of the tv.
We are active too, but I’m wondering if I’m at the age where I can’t get away with taking my foot off the gas at the weekend and still see results!
I try to have a few days in the week where I try not to eat much at all to hope it balances out… so dull!
Well done on all the losses, I am determined to keep going.

And sorry @Summerscomin not that many lunch ideas. I tend to try and have an egg or tuna salad or I sometimes buy a ready made salad thing.
Or 2 eggs on 1 slice of whole meal toast with a scrape of butter and a sprinkle of cheddar. That fills me up ok.

OP posts:
BaconAndAvocado · 12/09/2023 20:36

Summerscomin
For lunch I’ve been having a big bowl of rocket leaf salad with a hard boiled egg, cherry tomatoes, either some ham or tinned sardines, beetroot, seeds and a tiny smidge of balsamic glaze.
I also chuck in any veg I can find in the fridge.
Avoiding carbs works for me. In the past, I would of had the above with either a crusty roll or crackers with butter.....and a packet of crisps and chocolate bar too of course, hence my presence on his thread.

Currently sitting on the sofa with a cup of tea and NO BISCUIT. 😩😩

qwertyuiopasfghjklzxcvbnenk · 12/09/2023 20:43

Same as you OP
I could have written this post myself

CW 60.8 kg
TW 55 kg

I've got no willpower and am constantly yoyo-ing

GadgetArms · 12/09/2023 21:18

I struggle with weekends too. I like to have a few drinks and some nice food.

Trying to find some slimming world fakeaway recipes to trick myself.

Lucie11 · 13/09/2023 08:56

Weighed this morning…back up to 60.2kg 😫😫😫.
So fed up!!! I haven’t been perfect but that is not deserved!!!

OP posts:
BaconAndAvocado · 13/09/2023 11:21

Take heart Lucie11 it won’t always be a downward direction.
My middle name is Yo-Yo.

Keep going 🙂

Lucie11 · 14/09/2023 07:52

Thanks @BaconAndAvocado. I just have to keep going don’t I?!

I was thinking yesterday that if I give up, I’ll likely add a few more pounds and then it will be even harder.

I just find it frustrating that even a short time ago, what I’ve been doing would have seen a 4 or 5 pound loss easily.

Onwards!

100% agree with this.
The weight goes on just as easily but shifting is a different story 😭

BaconAndAvocado · 15/09/2023 08:59

I’ve lost another 2.25lb this week!

SW 9st 13lb
CW 9st 8lb
GW 9st 7lb

Really quite shocked but I was eating ALOT of rubbish before and now the only thing I’m eating in the week that falls into this category is 2 biscuits a day.
I also relax at the weekend but tbh I’m now not craving the chocolate so much.

It’s got to slow down next week otherwise I must be seriously ill 😳

Lucie11 · 15/09/2023 09:36

Fantastic @BaconAndAvocado 🙌.
You are doing brilliantly. Did you say you don’t drink alcohol? I really think that’s my downfall… lots of empty calories. I wish I didn’t like wine!!

OP posts:
BaconAndAvocado · 15/09/2023 09:44

Lucie11
I gave up alcohol about 6 months ago. It makes me ill and I was fed up of that.
I've found some really nice non-alcoholic drinks which I always pour into a wine glass to make it feel more special than a Coke!

Lucie11 · 15/09/2023 10:19

Definitely must be helping @BaconAndAvocado, your losses has been amazing.

do you mind me asking how old you are?

Good idea to put something in a wine glass to make it feel more special!

Not at all, I’m 54.
I don’t think me being teetotal does make a difference as when I was drinking, I would only have 1 or 2 glasses of wine a week.

I think the loss is completely due to what I’ve been eating and not eating. Healthy food and crap food.

Breakfast - Full fat Greek yoghurt, berries, flax seeds, mixed seeds and goji berries.

Lunch - rocket leaves, cherry tomatoes, radishes, beetroot, hard-boiled egg and either some sliced ham or tinned sardines, tiny drizzle of balsamic glaze. A pear or apple.

Dinner - Whatever everyone else is having, minus most carbs, but generally healthy meals cooked from scratch. Using Gousto at the moment as they sent me a discount code.

Snack - this is where I normally massively struggle but for the past week Mon-Fri I’ve been determined to have just 2 or 3 rich tea biscuits (the lowest cal biscuit on the market I think and I do really like them).

Tomorrow and Sunday will be different and I’ll have a couple of nice treats. Breakfast will be the same.

I know my weight loss will slow down soon or stop but I’m only 1lb off my target weight so I’m really happy.

Lucie11 · 15/09/2023 17:57

That sounds like a good, healthy approach @BaconAndAvocado. I’m not far off a similar diet, but I prob have at least 2 bottles of wine a week….maybe more 😬. I know it’s too much and not good for me at all.
I’m early 50’s. Drinking didn’t used to make any difference to me losing/not losing but I think it’s negating my healthy eating.
A huge well done anyway, a pound to target is fab!

Thanks Lucie11
I'm off to the theatre tonight and will try and avoid the boxes of Maltesers....
