I know I know. It's another thread

I can't find the last one. Managed to get myself a (cough) small banning for the despicable crime of troll hunting (oops!) but miss the support we all had when we were in the groove of it all

Anyway ... I've held off starting a new thread until I knew I was 'back' instead of this stupid managing a day or two and then falling off the wagon

I've managed nearly a week now and I've lost 7lbs. Have had to dig really deep for this but can feel the immense sugar cravings I had are lessening by the day

Anyone out there?!

Think I was better today, clearly not on the calm evening routine, but I've been out at a concert so trying to wind down now.

Yoghurt with bran and nuts
Eggs and avocado on wholemeal toast
Handful nuts
Thai curry (no rice for me)
Cheese and pickles

Daily rent mainly achieved by energetic cleaning today!

Megasaur5keeper · 14/12/2023 09:43

Sneaking back in.
So, COVID was a horror show this time round. Very long recovery period which was very annoying. I'm also still somewhat tired constantly but that might be doomscrolling. I reinstalled insta, realised it was not making me happy and deleted it again . Kept food mainly in circle but activity level was very very low!

Went back to normal exercise classes 2 weeks ago. Wow DOMS. I've not weighed for a while but the smaller clothes are still fitting so I think on the whole I've not ruined it all!

@Runnr what about a smoothie pre workout? Make up the night before and stick in fridge?

Runnr · 14/12/2023 18:43

@Megasaur5keeper thanks, that’s a really good idea. I was flicking through some recipe books and browsing online and wondered if I could adapt some of them where they use banana as a base - e.g. mashed bananas, peanut butter and oats baked into cookies. I could make a small enough batch to last a few days at a time.

Today’s food also not all that great. I am due my period and I need to make better choices, I am finding it really hard right now to cut out the sweet stuff, especially where there is so much of it in the office. I feel tired and cold a lot.

Food:
Nakd bar pre-run
Poached eggs, mushrooms, wholemeal toast
Wholemeal pitta, tuna, salad
Mini mince pie, two pieces of baklava, mini brownie
Grilled vegetables and halloumi, piece of pitta

Rent: 5km run, dog walk

I am feeling a bit pants tonight, I might curl up with the dog and a Christmas movie.

ElvenDreamer · 15/12/2023 05:38

Sorry you've been poorly @Megasaur5keeper , covid sucks, I'm still not back at 100% by a long chalk, breathing is affected and also tiredness, although I agree with you that the doomscrolling is a factor there and one I need to urgently sort.

@Runnr you don't sound like you're doing too badly, those are are not full on binge disasters, remember, it's just a step in the dance, just step right back in and no stinking thinking! You're doing really well with the daily rent, that's where I'm struggling currently, Kind of lost a routine there due to all the stuff going on in the run up to Christmas, but am remaining active at least.

Yesterday for me:
Yoghurt, bran and fruit.
Eggs and avocado on toast
Red cabbage and chick pea salad
Cheese and olives
Handful raisins (not sure what that was about!)

Runnr · 17/12/2023 19:54

Thanks @ElvenDreamer that’s a good way of thinking of it. It sounds as though you are doing well with the dance.

I can’t remember everything I ate on Friday and Saturday but I did have a couple of glasses of wine on Saturday night and some mozzarella sticks in a bar on Friday night. The Christmas lead up is definitely full on. I did a weights session on Friday, rested Saturday and ran two miles today.

Food today:
Porridge topped with blueberries, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds and almond butter
Nakd bar
Wholemeal chicken salad wrap and a few potato wedges
Wholemeal seeded bagel, scrambled eggs cooked with a bit of chorizo and tomatoes

MisshapenHat · 18/12/2023 15:33

Well, I finally caught the cold that's been going around town. I will say that I'm much better at not stuffing my face like I did in the past when sick. Usually, I'd request fast food and candy. I did have some Christmas cookies that I baked yesterday (tis the season, apparently) but jumped right back in the circle.

Realized I've been eating entirely too much almond butter (with apples and cinnamon, a wonderful combination) so I'm trying to cut back on that.

My husband jumped in the circle at the end of November and he's already almost 10 pounds down! HOW?!?!?!?! Anyway, keep up the good work, everyone. I can't really do much exercise (cold) but as long as I don't stuff my face, I'm happy.

Runnr · 18/12/2023 19:59

Sorry to hear you’re unwell @MisshapenHat hope you feel better soon.

Food:
Eggs on wholemeal toast
Tuna, salad, wholemeal pitta
Chicken orzo with lots of veg
Peanut butter banana bites

Rent: I have an old injury that is playing up a bit at the moment, so just a dog walk and some stretching today.

I found a recipe in a running cookbook of these peanut butter / oat / banana bite things so made a batch this evening to eat first thing before a run / gym session.

ElvenDreamer · 19/12/2023 08:09

Hope you feel better soon @MisshapenHat . Boo to husbands jumping on the same band wagon and acing it too, mine does stuff like that 🤣. I remember when I took up running and pilates for fitness, 3 months later he followed suit. Now he runs at least 4 times a week including up to half marathon distance and does yoga type stuff after. I potter round my 4k once a week still!

I've had 3 days decidedly outside the circle and am trying to not let it get in my head. Starting the day well at least with yogurt, bran and fruit. Will check in this evening for accountability.

MisshapenHat · 19/12/2023 15:38

Thanks everyone, luckily I do not believe this cold is fatal. Yet.

Yesterday's meals:
oatmeal with apples
chicken tacos on wholemeal tortillas with a tomatillo salsa
Steak and grilled onions and peppers with tomato and cucumber salad.
Tons of mandarin oranges.

I have my physical tomorrow and am excited that I will be 20 pounds lighter than last year. I have my fingers crossed that cholesterol will go down (it's been creeping up slowly).

As for the husband, I'm amazed he's doing it. His work is full of sugar right now (he says every day someone puts a donut or a pastry or cookies on his desk) and he's not eating any of them. I told him we step out of the circle for Christmas Eve and Christmas, back in, and then out for New Years, back in, and then out for his and my son's birthdays in January. Then...back in he goes!

ElvenDreamer · 19/12/2023 22:26

You both sound like you're doing amazingly.

I almost made it through in the circle today
Yogurt, fruit and bran
Red cabbage and chickpea salad
Cheese on oat cakes
Chilli with nachos
Cake mix...(I was making a birthday cake, this always ends badly!) BUT all in in all better than last 3 days.

MisshapenHat · 20/12/2023 14:01

Cake mix! I love to bake and, ahem, sample. The one way I've been able to keep baking is to make things with dairy (which I can't have), which solves the sample problem.

Yesterday's meals:

Oatmeal with apples
Leftover steak/grilled onions on wholemeal tortilla
popcorn
Sweet potatoes (first I've had since on method since they're considered "high energy"), ground beef and tomato bowl
Lots and lots of oranges.

Runnr · 21/12/2023 13:01

Cake mix is so good.

Tuesday:
Several oat and banana cookie things with yogurt
wholemeal pitta and chicken and salad
oat banana cookie thing
leftover orzo
Rent - weights session

Wednesday:
banana pancakes (mashed banana with eggs) with blueberries and almond butter
wholemeal tortilla with chicken and chips
salmon traybake
Rent - 2 mile run

Runnr · 27/12/2023 20:51

How are you doing @Megasaur5keeper @ElvenDreamer @MisshapenHat ? I’ve definitely had many days out of the circle but ready to get back into eating a bit better. My downfall this Christmas has definitely been the alcohol and cheese boards. I mostly just want to finish what there is in the house (which will take a few days) and then take it from there.

CatsSnore · 27/12/2023 20:56

I'll be back in when I've finished the cheese and chocolate 😂 I've put on a bloody stone since I was last here! Am going to measure myself with a tape as well. I Intend to be on the step machine and spin bike most days of the week!

Megasaur5keeper · 27/12/2023 21:14

Alcohol and cheese are great. But not super on method. I'm ok, just trying to maintain an even keel really .
