I know I know. It's another thread

I can't find the last one. Managed to get myself a (cough) small banning for the despicable crime of troll hunting (oops!) but miss the support we all had when we were in the groove of it all

Anyway ... I've held off starting a new thread until I knew I was 'back' instead of this stupid managing a day or two and then falling off the wagon

I've managed nearly a week now and I've lost 7lbs. Have had to dig really deep for this but can feel the immense sugar cravings I had are lessening by the day

Anyone out there?!

Sounds like everyone is back in the circle ⭕️ yay. Now all we have to do is stay there!

I'm still keeping on. Lost another lb so that's a total of 1 stone 4 lbs in 7 weeks so I'm relatively happy with that

I could help myself more by cutting out a couple of bad habits I've been indulging myself in recently ..I've been eating these 120 cal Mallow bars and also Pip and Nut peanut butter cups. So instead of say, a mixed nut snack, I've gone for either of the above which I know is not in the circle at all

So I need to wean myself off those because the problem is, they're delicious!

Thanks @TheOwlChronicles - they’re all £3.99 on Amazon kindle at the moment

ElvenDreamer · 25/07/2023 21:56

Today:
Bacon and egg cups
Cheese and crackers
Frittata and crudités
Nuts
Salmon burger on ciabatta with balsamic strawberry salad

Lots of gardening, nice evening walk.

@TheOwlChronicles I hear you re the Mallow bars/Pip and Nut snacks, I have the same problem with N'akd bars, not exactly in circle, but feel vaguely healthy and so tasty!

Megasaur5keeper · 26/07/2023 08:10

Hello
Yesterday I ate
Porridge with a pear, blackberries, almond butter and hazelnuts,
Egg muffin things with feta from the lfl cookbook
Some strawberries
Tomato and red pepper soup and a white roll (all there was)
Almonds and a nectarine
1 Colin caterpillar fizzy sweet
A few more almonds
Salmon with pesto and kale from lfl cookbook. 1oz too much salmon
Did body pump, a wee swim with daughter (not really exercise but the stress raises the heart beat) and got steps in.

I need to work on keeping my hand out of the almond jar.

ElvenDreamer · 26/07/2023 18:16

@Megasaur5keeper I have trouble with grazing on juts too, always seems to be a few more than I should have!

Last night I ended up adding in some pieces of cheese and olives, obviously in inclement so not a disaster but quantity an issue as that was an extra snack. Hoping to do better tonight.

Today's food:
Egg and avocado on toast (at 11.45, vaguely flirting with the idea of gentle fasting on some days.)

Piece of cheese and half an apple

Handful of pringles (discovered in cupboard by accident, couldn't resist and didn't even enjoy them so a completely pointless step out of circle 🤦‍♀️)

Sausage, cauliflower mash, peas and mushrooms.

Had a pilates class this morning.

Didn't sleep that well last night so feeling tired today, honoured that by a brief 10 min nap when I could grab it this afternoon instead of continuous snacks to try and find energy which never ever works lol. Planning a quick house work focus now and then an early night.

How's everyone else doing?

ElvenDreamer · 26/07/2023 18:18

When will I learn to reread before hitting post?!

*grazing on nuts

Cheese and Olives *obviously in the circle!!

ElvenDreamer · 27/07/2023 07:05

Ugh, ended up with extra cheese and oatcakes and a somewhat generous handful of nuts and raisins at the end of the evening yesterday. (Apologies for the extra posting btw, have a bit more time currently for a couple of weeks so trying to be brutally honest and hold myself accountable on here and see if it helps.) I thought I felt hungry, clearly wasn't, so need to do something about understanding those urges better. I then was up late into the evening as I couldn't sleep and this morning feel 'tummyish' and grumpy.

Repeat after me, it's just another step in the dance, no stinking thinking! Onwards and upwards💪 I will be back on here tonight....

Megasaur5keeper · 27/07/2023 20:02

It's a step in the dance, no stinking thinking here.

Yesterday was - Bircher with chocolate and raspberries,

Nectarine and some pecan nuts

Burrito bowl at barburrito- was on method ish but really the least bad option

Strawberries and egg muffins

Catania cod

Rest day but got steps in.

Today was rhubarb Bircher with hazelnuts and some granola,

A pear and cheese

Peach and chicken salad from 6wp

No afternoon snack but I did eat a few chocolate things and haribo in the morning

Pork "noodle" salad from 6wp

Body pump and I'm at 12k steps.

How's everyone else? I'm going to have a herbal tea and sort my self out for tomorrow - that aspect has gone to pot

ElvenDreamer · 27/07/2023 21:18

Not too bad here. Today's food:

Mackerel fillet on toasted ciabatta with salad

Handful of nuts and raisins

Cheese and onion patties with an apple chutney and mixed veg.

Some cherries and 2 babybel

Then the raging evening 'I want to pick at something' set thoroughly in. I have made myself sit and think very seriously about what would scratch that itch without leaving me furious tomorrow and have settled on making myself some popcorn, slightly sweetened with a little stevia and a drizzle of melted butter. Perfect. I now have the doors open and the extractor fan on due to the unfortunate saucepan burning that occurred during the popping process but let's gloss over that!

OK on steps I think today, I don't often measure as I'm not keen on wearing a watch. Did a few roll downs into plank and a press up, and also a minute of hula hooping just so I'd done a little something exercisewise.

ElvenDreamer · 28/07/2023 21:40

Another day down, slightly wobbly today but not bad.

Hummus with vegetable sticks and half a pitta bread.

Cherries and babybel (3, whoops!)

Popcorn and slice of homeade gluten free, vegan banana bread

Prawn and green vegetable dish

2 oatcakes with cheese and handful peanuts (salted sadly)

Nice long walk with kids today. Really feeling tired this evening and trying hard not to give into temptation!

CatsSnore · 30/07/2023 13:10

Hi all

I did LP lean for life a while ago but have put a stone on in 3 months due to recovering from an injury. I've eaten so many carbs and sugary delights. Have a tesco shop being delivered and looking for circle inspiration meals and snacks. I need to make a plan as just choosing what I fancy is not going well and carbs/sugar is my issue ( also two teens who pretend they don't like veg).

I'm thinking..

LP Turkey meatballs
The bean burgers but made into smaller falafel style shapes with LP hummus
Joe wicks chicken pie. It has a filo pastry top but I can try my best to resist that.
LP pesto salmon
Sausage and bean mash.

It's quite meat heavy though and I'm not looking to spend a fortune on food this month so any inspiration that won't cost the bank would be great if you have it!

I'll be making bircher with oatbran for breakfast, hoping to try to make the carrot cake one. It looks delicious but a bit of a faff!

Snacks, will be ordering oatcakes, apples, peanut butter, I'd quite like to make some of the mini stilton egg thingys. Has anyone made these, are they nice? Can they be frozen as my teens won't eat them. Will also be making Mexican hot chocolate and the odd smoothie for a snack.

I've done a bit of the lifestyle part and made my kitchen a GOOD place to be. My oils, vinegara and seasonings are all stocked up.

I will not be aiming to do 10k steps a day plus the exercises as I'm still recovering from operation but will be doing 6-7k steps, my physio exercises (pilates based) and swimming 4x a week (if my friend comes, I absolutely hate swimming by myself it's so boring!).

Megasaur5keeper · 30/07/2023 16:29

I've not made the stilton eggy things but I use the other two recipes frequently. I half the recipe and find they are ok after 3/4 days anyway, I've never had to freeze them. I've seen similar being frozen though. Looks a good plan !

Yesterday was not a good day..I ate too much, barely moved and felt rubbish.
Back on track today I think.

Bircher breakfast,
Strawberry and pecan snack,
Leek and potato soup and a roll after swimming
( I barely moved)
Cashew butter and strawberries on crispbread
So far. Also about 8 almonds.
Body combat this morning and my Fitbit thinks I've done my steps, but most of them were at combat so I'll do a walk later on.

ElvenDreamer · 30/07/2023 17:35

Hi @CatsSnore welcome to the thread! I've not made the stilton things either, I'm very lazy with the snacks element and prefer it to be something without much prep! The carrot cake bircher I have done though, not as much of a faff as it sounds and can make enough for a couple of days or so. Planning is definitely key to LP being a success I think.

Yesterday:
Mini omelette
Salad (all kinds of veg plus seeds and feta)
Big handful nuts and small one of dried fruit
Saag paneer and chicken jalfrazi (homeade)
Cheese, olives, sundried tomatoes and oatcakes

Today:
Egg and avocado on toast
Beluga lentil salad
Hummus and veg sticks
Handful nuts
Not sure what husband is cooking for tea but whatever it is usually just means I refuse the rice, or whatever equivalent!

Have run 4k this morning and over both last 2 days been working hard on lifestyle pillar. I've made some 'me' time and been doing a water colour painting course. I'm terrible but it's great fun trying!

CatsSnore · 30/07/2023 17:55

Thanks both

So I've changed it slightly,

Monday, roast chicken with broccoli and med veg.

Tuesday, leftover chicken to make Mexican chicken bowl (will give dc a wrap to go with this)
Wednesday, bean burgers
Thursday, sausage and bean mash
Friday, pesto salmon
Saturday, cod tray bake (maybe a cod curry)
Sunday chicken and leak pie with no pastry for me.

Snacks/lunches

Oatcakes and hummus
Peanut butter and apple
Chocolate and cinnamon almonds
Veg sticks and hummus
Mozzarella and basil
Unsalted nuts and fruit
Chicken/cheese/prawn/bean/tuna salads
Mexican hot chocolate

Mornings I will be trying different bitchers or having oatbran porridge with peanut butter and vanilla paste.

I've got rid of all the carbs bar a few wraps as they are my downfall. I would leave the bircher and eat marmalade on toast all morning otherwise 😂 I really love marmalade atm but I can't see how I can squeeze it in anywhere!

Fingers crossed now I'm not just winging it in sainsburys local and the temptations are out the house I will do just fine 🤞

ElvenDreamer · 30/07/2023 17:57

Good luck! Re low carb (and also easy recipes on method) I downloaded The Freshwell app, free app created by a local surgery, and it's got loads of good recipes on. I'm particularly enjoying the breakfast variations on there.

CatsSnore · 30/07/2023 18:03

Thanks @ElvenDreamer I'll do that now!

CatsSnore · 31/07/2023 17:38

Yey my shopping has been delivered and put away. I sort of treated myself this morning with one of those alpen yoghurts and granola pots for breakfast and an egg mayo on brown bread for lunch.. but my chicken is roasting away and I'm excited to be starting.

I am also having a hendrix gin with cucumber, no alcohol can start from tomorrow 😂

ElvenDreamer · 31/07/2023 17:51

Shopping arriving when you've made a plan is so satisfying!

Last night I did end up with another unplanned extra snack, don't know why I can't crack the evenings, it's very frustrating.

Today for me:
Microwave mug muffin (freshwell app) with a spoon of plain yogurt and some blueberries

Tricolor salad (LfL)

Carrot sticks and Hummus and a few nuts

Smoked Haddock chowder and mixed veg. (Slightly out of ⭕️ here as there is potato in it, chopped fairly small, not at a point in cooking where I could extract from my portion)

Need to do some exercise still, plan to do a 10 min workout from an exercise app. May have a couple of oatcakes or something later.

CatsSnore · 31/07/2023 18:23

I know! It was so satisfying!

I downloaded that app and those muffins look very nice! I will have to get some ground almonds and give it a whirl.

The chowder sounds lovely!

ElvenDreamer · 31/07/2023 18:57

The muffins are good, nice and filling, a little dry I find so a little Greek yogurt does the trick. Also highly recommend the bacon and egg cups, my kids loved them too and I reckon they'd be great as cold snacks/lunch box extras too.

ElvenDreamer · 01/08/2023 18:28

Hi everyone,

Today:
Microwave mug muffin with yoghurt and blueberries

Beluga lentil salad.

A buttered oat cake and a handful of root veg crisps.

Hot smoked salmon, double cress and quails egg platter. (So good!)

Will have a small snack later, probably cheese related. Have had a decent length walk and done a short workout app.

How's everyone else?

Louise Parker method - final try! Calling the old gang
CatsSnore · 01/08/2023 21:32

Your hot smoked salmon and eggs looks delicious elven!

I ran out of time to eat breakfast this morning. Did get a chai latte in work.

lunch: Had two scrambled eggs on one piece of German rye bread (that's made out of seeds not proper bread) and an orange.

Small handful of unsalted fruit and nut mix.

Leftover chicken made in to tacos. Had two taco shells, the chicken onion and pepper mix, half an avacado lime juice and natural yoghurt. I did have a bowl of strawberries and raspberries for pudding with a splash of cream.

Did go round my friends for a couple of hours and had a sugary tea, balanced it out with a chunk of cheese 🤦‍♀️

But I'm fairly happy that it's only been the one sugary tea. The last few months it's been multiple sugary teas all afternoon and evening.

Hoping tomorrow goes better but tomorrow is my volunteer evening and a meal is cooked for us all. It's usually very carb and cheese heavy. I was planning on taking a salad with my bean burgers but I haven't had time this evening to make them up and I don't want to now! I might make a salad with LPs hummus that I made this afternoon for DD to have as a snack. The only issue is I have zero self control and will eat both 😂

CatsSnore · 01/08/2023 21:41

Also went for a 25 minute walk! Forgot about that and went the hard way up the steep hill!

MisshapenHat · 02/08/2023 02:34

I've somehow hit a rut. I started end of March and I've lost 12 pounds. I have at least 5-8 more. I know by May, we had several celebrations, vacation...and a lot of stress. My weight just held steady. Stuck. Even though I was staying on method most of the time. At least it didn't go up.

Reset myself two weeks ago. The weight was going down...AND IT IS STUCK AGAIN. I can't figure out why, but honestly, it stresses me out. I had french fries over a week ago. Did that just permanently stop fat burning? I have no idea.

The only thing I can think of is that it has been 110F/43C for so long now (weeks? A month?) that all walking has stopped. Still am doing weight exercises.

Perhaps it is bloating. I've had a hysterectomy, so I no longer know when my cycle is. But, I am grumpy and I started crying while watching "A League of Their Own," so maybe it is that.

Sorry-- just had to get this out there! So frustrated.

CatsSnore · 02/08/2023 08:27

How much water do you drink? If you're in Europe where it's hot I expect you're dehydrated and your body is holding on to the water weight. Drink loads of water (but also if it's that hot keep your electrolytes up with coconut water) and check the salt content of your food. I'd add in a few swims but don't overdo the exercise in that heat.
