Louise Parker method - final try! Calling the old gang

I know I know. It's another thread

I can't find the last one. Managed to get myself a (cough) small banning for the despicable crime of troll hunting (oops!) but miss the support we all had when we were in the groove of it all

Anyway ... I've held off starting a new thread until I knew I was 'back' instead of this stupid managing a day or two and then falling off the wagon

I've managed nearly a week now and I've lost 7lbs. Have had to dig really deep for this but can feel the immense sugar cravings I had are lessening by the day

Anyone out there?!

So, I weighed in today, 4lb down over the last week so I'm happy with that. Food has been mostly in the circle, I'm on a show week with lots of late nights, normally a nightmare for evening munchies when I get home but I've managed to keep it minimal. We are eating out at a pizza restaurant between performances today so that will be challenging but I've had an advance look at the menu and think there's a sald thing that will work. If not, I'll just have whatever and eat less of it. Training myself not to panic in these situations as then I fall into that 'stinking thinking trap and it all falls apart. Been working lots on feeling good about myself and focusing on a non stressful approach to life and that definitely helps me feel calm and in control when eating too.

ElvenDreamer · 18/06/2023 08:03

Updating, did fall foul of evening snacking (and definitely way out of the circle for it) last night but as this was final night only, normally that would have been every night, I think I'm ok with it. Had a tuna salad in the pizza restaurant, it was totally on plan and really lovely. Feel like a zombie this morning due to all the late nights so did not manage my usual Sunday run but may do something later instead. Happy Sunday everyone!

TheOwlChronicles · 19/06/2023 23:14

Hi all,
Tried a new breakfast today: mug muffin. I got the recipe from the Freshwell app, have screen grabbed below in case anyone needs some new inspiration.
Almonds snack
Ham salad for lunch
Making a beef stirfry with lots of veg for dinner.

A little low on water today so trying to redress that balance over the next few hours.

Evening, food today:
Blueberry bircher
Handful of almonds
Ham salad
Banana on oatcakes
Smoked haddock with green veg

Currently still feeling hungry so trying to wait a good 20 mins and drink more water to see if I genuinely am!

Megasaur5keeper · 21/06/2023 20:10

@TheOwlChronicles that's some colour of drink. Was it nice? I'm guessing the spirulina is what imparts the colour.

My periods are wiping me out at the moment. I end up with days where I feel shit and unable to stop eating salty things. It's suboptimal

TheOwlChronicles · 21/06/2023 20:31

Love the sound of those @ElvenDreamer - might give them a go!

@Megasaur5keeper ha yes. I use blue spirulina as no fishy taste like the usual green and even the tiniest amount makes anything bright blue! I've diluted the effect somewhat with 300ml oat milk!

Food times for today ..

Smoothie

Mozzarella,'few tomatoes, half an avocado, few walnuts

2 slices of sourdough toast with hummus, portobello mushrooms and a little grated cheddar

Cherries

Not felt massively hungry tbh. Also managed 12000 steps today

Hmmm, well yesterday ended up being 'the day of many snacks', all in or not far out of the circle, but just so so many. Cross with myself. I was just so lethargic, trying to give myself a boost to do what I needed to do. It didn't work of course, I'd have been better off just having a nap. Why. Do. I. Not learn!

Onwards and hopefully upwards.

Looking at your mozzarella with avocado, nuts etc @TheOwlChronicles which sounds really tasty, has got me thinking though, I'm a terrible grazer, wondering if on days I feel like that, I might be better making myself a box of little bits and pieces that I can dip in and out of, rather than 2 set snacks/snack times. (Made up to the equivalent amount of food of course.) Anyone tried anything like that?

TheOwlChronicles · 23/06/2023 13:51

@ElvenDreamer that's always been my issue - sometimes I just don't feel like a meal. I just want some snack bits so that's what I do

I was snacky like you yesterday. And just didn't fancy anything for dinner.
Nothing appealed so I had ..

Handful of trail mix
Piece of cheese
Nectarine

And that did me. It's in the circle (err sort of!) and it did the job so I say yes, pack up some snacks for those times you don't feel like a meal or can't fit one in

Morning all - well, all three of us! I wonder if anyone will ever do this diet again bar us? Because her business has sadly gone bust, she won't be putting anything out there so I suppose it's only those who know her of old who'll do the plan.

Shame really as we all know it really works

I've started the day with a banana, blueberry, kefir, hemp seed and oat milk smoothie

ElvenDreamer · 24/06/2023 11:54

And I'm not really a great advert for LP to be honest, yesterday was rubbish again, the heat and (probably hayfever related) fatigue has been really getting to me.

Today has been a better start, cooler today and I feel less fuzzy headed.

So far breakfast of pancakes and strawberries
Snack of a carrot, chunk of cucumber, handful of almonds.

Happy weekend all.

Megasaur5keeper · 24/06/2023 18:54

Dunno, I keep going on about it to people when they moan about wanting to lose weight ! My food today has been a hollowed out whole meal bagel with "messy eggs" (hollowed out to make space for eggs)
Almond butter and an apple, some oatcakes, anti pasti salad, some cheese scone and butter and bits of chocolate crispie cake eaten off the spatula and a tofu stir-fry for dinner.
Small human's birthday party tomorrow (so that is a year since I found these threads, I remember posting about her last one! ) So there will be cake and so on.
Off for a walk shortly.

TheOwlChronicles · 27/06/2023 23:14

Evening all

Quick one from me as I'm very tired zzzz

Hit the first stone off yesterday so I'm quite pleased with that. It's taken about 3 and a half weeks so not bad at all but probably does mean the next stone will take forever but let's not get ahead of ourselves!

Good not the best today as I drove to London and back so not had chance to eat properly

Greek yogurt
Fruit
Peanut butter

Roasted chickpeas

M and S vegan sandwich

Large handful of mixed nuts and fried fruit

Nectarine

Piece of cheese

So I did my best but I'll try harder tomorrow!

Hi folks,
Nothing to report here, been a disaster, just cannot find the attempt that sticks. It's making me really cross as the first time I ever did this a couple of years ago I lost a stone and became more toned with absolute ease! Going to make a massive effort to get back on track today and will report back tonight 🙄 Hope everyone is ticking along ok!

ElvenDreamer · 01/07/2023 19:11

So, ultimately today:
Oatmeal pancakes with a little plain yogurt.
Courgetti bolognese.
Handful of nuts.
Handful of chocolate covered liquorice (whoops!)
Curry (homemade, small portion)

Just been out for a couple of miles walk to get my steps in. Planning to go and clean my teeth now so I don't eat anything else tonight.

Made an effort to have some me time: Duolingo, music practice, a guided meditation. Left some social media groups that I've found make me grumpy. All in all, quite productive!

TheOwlChronicles · 01/07/2023 20:42

@ElvenDreamer I know only too well how hard it can be to make an attempt stick. Its so hard and then suddenly it falls into place again so you'll get there

OP posts:
TheOwlChronicles · 01/07/2023 20:46

Todays food ...

Oat milk smoothie with chocolate protein powder, banana, spinach and ice

Udon noodles

Piece of cheese
Nectarine

Pear, walnut, feta and rocket salad

I've managed to lose a stone and 1lb over the course of June so my goal for July is 8 lbs off

OP posts:
TheOwlChronicles · 02/07/2023 22:39

ElvenDreamer · 03/07/2023 07:07

Morning, that look like a really nice selection of food @TheOwlChronicles , I love salads with cheese and nuts in!

Yesterday was a good day for me
Egg on toast
Lentil curry
Salad with chicken and bacon and a balsamic dressing
Handful almonds

I managed this whilst out for the afternoon and evening at the coast and theatre and all the rest had icecreams, fish and chips etc. Proud of myself today!

Had a 4k run in the morning and then lots of walking during the day. Now just need to keep that momentum going ....

Katrinawaves · 03/07/2023 15:30

Could I join in? I wasn’t on your original thread but I did LP about 5 years ago and loved the food and lost weight effortlessly. I did sign up to one of her programmes during lockdown as well but found it harder to stick with it that time around. There was just too much else going on in the world at the time!

I have a week off work this week so hoping to use that to get my head firmly into the inner circle. Following a disastrous experiment with ozempic last year I’ve been left with a very delicate digestion so I need to be careful what I eat and little and often - as is the LP way - is much better for me

So far today I’ve had:

breakfast - Monkey toast and a cup of decaf earl grey
lunch - chicken and vegetable soup and a handful of strawberries.

I have some hummus, pomegranate and Pitta lined up for a mid afternoon snack and maybe some oatcakes with peanut butter and pumpkin seeds for a mid evening snack.

Am undecided about dinner but leaning towards a salmon fillet with some green veg or possibly an omelette

I’ve also dug out some Yogalates DVDs to pay my rent later. 😀

ElvenDreamer · 03/07/2023 19:22

Evening all and Hi @Katrinawaves . You've reminded me I've not yet paid my daily rent so may have to do some pilates or get in a quick walk this evening.

Food today:

Egg on toast
Cheese on oat cakes
Roquefort, pear and chicory salad
Handful or maybe 2 handfuls, quite large ones of nuts.
Big Green Bosh Bowl (vegan cookbook called Bosh) - left the rice out of my bowl.

TheOwlChronicles · 03/07/2023 22:24

Welcome @Katrinawaves ! Think you've hit the nail on the head there - when you're in the circle, it's definitely effortless. No hunger and the weight comes off nicely

Step out that circle too often though and it's a whole different ball game!

You've reminded me about monkey toast! May give that a whirl!

OP posts:
TheOwlChronicles · 03/07/2023 22:26

@ElvenDreamer that sounds like you're really back into it! How are you feeling now?

Todays food here ..

Greek yogurt, nectarine, orange melon and seeds

Panini with hummus, salad and quorn

Handful of pistachios and walnuts
Cherries

Rocket, mozzarella and watermelon salad
