Summer is here and holiday time is upon us! A new month provides the opportunity to embrace a re-set and refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose as well as those who wish to maintain; to encourage a healthy & varied diet and exercise.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9.5st. I had a blip a couple of years ago when my thyroid went wonky but now back mainly on track. Would love to wave bye to another half a stone 😬

I'm in...need to lose around 4stone, but focusing on 1 stone at a time. I'll be Calorie Counting and trying to move more. 🤞🍀

@autisticlegolover glad your bloods came back all good. Endo is an absolute sodding misery so fingers crossed AF is going to gradually phase herself out.
Had a massive go at DH last night. He's been great doing legal and financial stuff for MIL but leaves all the emotional heavy lifting to me and she's not my bloody mother. Does the male thing of tuning out when she wants to talk - which she does non stop - and I'm overwhelmed.
So he got both barrels. He apologised this morning and I feel better.
@ninjachicken yep in the UK. Leaving for France 🇫🇷 on the 6th. Cannot wait....

I started again in mid Jan this year. I weighed 67.5 kgs and at 5 foot 1 inch that is too much. I am now 60.8 kgs so I have nearly lost 7 kgs. It’s not fast but I am ok with that.
my mini goal now is to get under 60 kgs and then I would ideally like to get to around 55 kgs
here’s to a healthy summer!!

Sorry it came to that @Weatherwax13 but well done for sticking up for yourself and I'm glad DH apologised.

I'll be weighing on Friday as normal for me. Expecting a gain after poor school holiday/bad mood choices, but hopefully not far off my maintenance range. Got to take it for what it is though, can't undo the choices made so far!

She is 70% excited and 30% nervous.
DD1 has managed to also spend a few extra days with us so we are having everyones favourite meals as last meals before .......
I will get back on it on 5th June.

Hello all! Checking in and I didn't get a chance to weigh this morning so will weigh and post results tomorrow. I'm not expecting to have lost anything though as had a weekend of social events/BBQs and it's half term this week which always throws me out of routine. We shall see! I've tried to be a bit more sensible yesterday and today but it's tricky as I've been out and about a lot with DD1.

Yesterday's meals

B - latte
L - tuna sandwich on brown bread, packet of wotsits, apple
D - poached egg and tomatoes on toast
S - one square of dark chocolate with a cup of tea

Today

B - latte
L - avocado on toast, olives, side salad
D - vegetable stir fry with lots of carrot, broccoli and spring onions
S - one biscuit

Thanks for creating the thread. Checking in. I’m starting tomorrow as a new month, also cutting the booze as I’ve found my drinking has crept up and always affects my food choices.
I have two stone to lose and need to shift this baby weight. I feel so depressed in myself now something has to change.

I don't have the ability to weigh myself while overseas so I intend to use my jeans waistband as a guide and shall post levels of tightness !

I'm here to maintain around 54.5kg/8st 8lb as best I can. I was 53.6kg this morning so not quite getting the hang of maintenance yet. I've still got a flabby belly but I want to try and tone up rather than lose more weight incase my boobs disappear!

My plan is to increase my veg consumption because it's poor considering I'm a vegetarian 🤦‍♀️ My iron levels are low so I'm on a mission to include 2 good iron sources a day. I hope that's doable. I'll continue with my good fruit intake and try to cut the sugar a bit. I'm such a sugar fiend for sweets. My blood glucose is fine though so no insulin resistance to worry about. Hormone levels show I'm peri-menopausal therefore I'm proof peri is not always a barrier to weight loss but maybe I've just been lucky. Cholesterol level is good too.

Im hoping that upping the veg, toning and carrying on with my several miles a day walking will help have me in the best shape I can realistically be by my birthday later this month. Im already over 2 stone down and that's a miracle. No way I'll put that back on by my birthday either so this year I will have finally given myself the gift of being slimmer.

Remember lots of water during the day everyone 🍾 it really helps. I also find a multivitamin helps with cravings. If I remember to take it 😬

Let's do this! Let's be more awesome for the summer of '23!

I’d love to join. 5ft 9 and 85kg/about 13st 7 & currently a size 14.

Would love to lose half a stone by my holiday in July and then another half a stone for another trip away in September.

Basically never lost the baby weight, so 75kg would take me back there & to hopefully a healthier place to TTC #2.

Im just planning to cut out the crap plus a bit of intermittent fasting.

June already! I can't believe it.

I'm getting close to leaving the overweight category for BMI, so that's extremely pleasing. I think I need to lose 2lb. So hopefully I can achieve that in June!

i'm alive. i'll certainly give june a try as may has been horrible (food exercise and financial wise...add in friendship to the mix).

1st June and I am half a kilo heavier than I was yesterday. Yuck. That’s definitely my few days off plan showing up on the scales

i have been back on it since yesterday so hopefully it will come back off again quickly

todays food:
lunch: broccoli with eggs
dinner: chicken wrapped in Parma ham with veg or salad
snack if needed will be Greek yoghurt with blueberries

I’ve been following your April and May threads and finally decided to join in to hold myself accountable!

I’ve weighed in at 145lb todays and I go on holiday on 25th June. My target for holiday was 138lbs however if I can get to 140lb I will be happy.

so far im 40lbs down in 14 months through calorie deficit so I may have to lower my deficit and try and do some workouts to get there

Urgh, mood has plummeted again over here 😭 youngest is unwell so not been able to get the kids out as much as I would like to over half term, and I'm so tired from long shifts and being up in the night/general worry that I'm making real 'fuck it' bad choices, and then feeling cross with myself about said choices and falling further into that trap. Naff weather isn't helping - it's June but we're in jumpers! Not ok!

Yesterday I don't suppose was too bad.. I had a cheese, houmous and salad flatbread for lunch with some crisps. Dinner was 3 hash browns, southern fried chicken goujons and peas, sweetcorn and green beans. I don't think I had anything else. Worked a busy six hour shift.

Today so far I've had my normal morning cuppas, then a biscoff cheesecake and oat latte at a cafe mid morning, and just had the remains of a sharing bag of space raiders for lunch 😏 I feel fat AF and zero appetite for a healthy top up for lunch. Dinner hasn't been planned but think I've got one more portion of bolognese sauce in the freezer so will probably have that.

Booked into dance class tonight, which will hopefully lift my mood. And I'm doing ok on the water front. But still, just rather down in the dumps and dreading getting on the scales tomorrow. Grr.
