"I Started Ozempic Last Night" THREAD THREE

1000 replies

Athena51 · 16/02/2023 08:44

Starting a new thread as we are dangerously close to finishing thread two. So great to have this supportive community to share our experiences of taking Ozempic for weightloss.

"Old-timers" and new starters all welcome!

@ButterfliesnWaterfalls I can't reply to your post on the old thread but DON'T discard the pen! They can be safely used for 6 weeks.

MiniCooperLover · 17/02/2023 08:34

My new pen arrived yesterday, I've kept it in all its wrapping and it's in the fridge, is that right? Our fridge is very cold so I just wanted to be sure. I've still got another injection worth left in my existing pen so I won't be using it for at least 2 weeks. Thanks

tregunamekoidestrecorumsatisdee · 17/02/2023 08:34

Yes still on 0.25 I was thinking to stick on that today then go up to 0.50 next week so a week early. I should have 0.25 x3 and 0.50 x2 in the pen if I count the clicks I think? This thread is helpful I would never have known that otherwise

OneAndDon3 · 17/02/2023 08:40

Today I put my pre baby jeans on, which I couldn't get past my knees at Christmas and nearly did them up. Which I'm pretty pleased with after 7 weeks.

I'm finding that on the 0.5mg dose I am hungry in the morning. But when it comes round to dinner I could take it or leave it.

Yesterday on the way back from work I stopped in at the supermarket to grab coffee. Normally I would have got a snack as well but I literally didn't want anything. It's such a great feeling.

Athena51 · 17/02/2023 08:46

I'm now 1.5lbs away from my 5 stone loss - can I do it by the end of Feb????
I'm over the halfway point now depending on what my target weight it. I'm quite tall (5ft 7) and I'm one of those dense "metal bones" people who always look much lighter than they are. I'm aiming for 11 stone which will give me a healthy BMI.

I'd like to be a size 12 (the teeny-tinies of MN would have a fit at wanting to be as massive as that!). I haven't been that sort of weight for years so it's hard to judge. I shall keep on with the weight training though as building/maintaining muscle is especially important post menopause and I'm sure it helps with loose skin.

Wishing you all a good day.

That's amazing Athena! I have about 7 stone to lose and living in terror of getting the loose skin and my face crumbling. My baby face is the only thing I have going for me!

You're doing so well!

I'm aiming to get to a size 12 too as I think for me personally it should be possible for me to maintain a size 12/14 which I'm fine with - whereas I'm not ok with my current size which was bordering on 18. I don't think a size 10 is something I could maintain.

Have to admit I have somewhat stalled at a half a stone loss since early Feb. On the positive side, I haven't had many side effects this week. I will move up to 0.5mg on Wednesday and hope that the weight starts to shift again without any nasty side effects.

Thank you. I don't carry much weight on my face or round my middle, those are the last places it goes on and the first bits I lose it from (my legs are a different matter!) I don't have any loose skin currently and even though I seem to have very elastic skin I can't believe that I would eventually lose 9 stone in total and not have it but it still has to be better than carrying all that fat around.

I carry my weight evenly so I seem to go down dress sizes much more slowly than someone who carries weight round their tummy/waist. It takes me an age to go down a size but I have to gain loads to go up a size too.

I'm sure you won't crumble, I too have a baby face and I haven't got any wrinkles or sagging so far (and if I do, I'll have every treatment going 😀)

wow great result Athena!! well done a 12 would be wonderful! TBH I just want a healthy BMI.
I think i'll look at one of the companies you've recommended but will they definitely give me the 1mg pen as I really feel things have slowed down drastically and I really want to move up to 1mg ( am
currently on second month of 0.5 with Juniper

I think Mayfair will probably give someone a 1mg pen if they explain they have already been using the 0.5mg. Most companies only expect you to stay on 0.5 for 1 month not 2. Sounds like Juniper are using it as an excuse due to their supply issues

ButterfliesnWaterfalls · 17/02/2023 10:00

@MaireadMcSweeney Thanks, yes I’m planning on keeping it. But I’m hoping to buy two needles. I know there was a lady on here giving them but I can’t find the poster. I don’t want to spend £18 for just two needles 😩

You can get them on eBay for less than a tenner

AndSoFinally · 17/02/2023 10:25

@orangelotus I get mine from Mayfair. Bought the 0.25mg pen to start, then bought a 1mg pen 2 weeks later (due to the supply issues, I thought it might take trying a few companies to be able to get one, and didn't know if Mayfair had stock). They didn't question the dose jump, or even make me wait until the next pen was due, they just posted it right out. As one of the more expensive companies, I'm guessing they'll be one of the last to sell out 🤷🏻

HermioneWeasley · 17/02/2023 10:27

@Athena51 thats imcredible!

ILostMyself · 17/02/2023 10:52

@Athena51 that’s an incredible loss!

I’ve taken the plunge and ordered from Mayfair Weightloss Clinic based on your recommendations… thank you everyone for them! I just ordered the smallest 0.25 dose… hope that’s correct.

Assuming you are starting, then 0.25 is the correct dose for the first 4 weeks (longer if you want)

Thanks @Twiglets1

Did everyone feel like they had much effect at this starter dose out of interest? (Sorry if you’ve all already discussed this loads in the other threads which I am going to read through!)

nixpix · 17/02/2023 11:15

I am joining this thread having put my order in yesterday for my first pen through Quickmeds, hoping it gets here tomorrow. Keen to lose 2 stone and get back to a size 12 as I've got high blood pressure and have developed a loud snoring habit. I have zero will power, although have lost weight before through following a low carb diet. I have found these threads full of useful information, so thank you.

RebelGeek76 · 17/02/2023 12:27

@orangelotus I had no problems getting 1mg from QuickMeds. I just said I was currently on 0.5mg no further questions asked.

Oigetoffmylawn · 17/02/2023 14:36

That's fantasticAthena. My dream goal loss is 5stone, so nice to see it's achievable.

I found even on 0.25mg that I had very little appetite in weeks 1 & 2 and I lost 7lb quite quickly. Now I seem to have stalled but due to move up to 0.5 on Wednesday. I am still eating less than I used to and with fewer cravings. So yes, some of us feel a big change from the start.

orangelotus · 17/02/2023 15:13

Thankyou i have just ordered from quickmeds. I'll wait until i get it before cancelling Juniper.
do you need to make a monthly order ? doesn't seem to be a subscript?

Abeachsomewhere · 17/02/2023 15:37

Marking my place so that this links to threads I’m on.

Have had a pretty disastrous last couple of weeks on 0.50, it doesn’t seem to do much for me in terms of appetite suppression. It’s strange as the 0.25 worked really well and I barely thought about food at all. My body must have got used to the drug.

Do you think it would be a disaster if I used my last two 0.50 doses together to make 1mg when I inject tomorrow? I don’t want to develop any unpleasant side effects (which I haven’t had too many of so far) but am really worried that if I carry on at 0.50 I’ll put on most of the weight I managed to lose in the early weeks on Ozempic.

orangelotus · 17/02/2023 15:39

oh that sounds really disappointing .
How many doses of 0.5mgs have you already taken?

IAmBreathingIn · 17/02/2023 15:55

@Cappuccinopup Wow, that's awful! Thanks so much for telling me. I think I'll stick to my current supplier then. What a shame that they're so unreliable.

Were you ready to start using that pen? I do hope so.
