Athena51 · 16/02/2023 08:44

Starting a new thread as we are dangerously close to finishing thread two. So great to have this supportive community to share our experiences of taking Ozempic for weightloss.

"Old-timers" and new starters all welcome!

Thank you @HermioneWeasley ☺️

Circa1840 · 10/03/2023 13:10

Wow @Cappuccinopup that is amazing. Gives me hope it can be done.x

polopolopolopoo · 10/03/2023 13:56

@Cappuccinopup yes I know it's up and down and I'm trying to keep focused on that! I use Happy Scale app which helps enormously to see the downward trend. But it would be so easy to give up now unless I see at least some losses over next few weeks.... 😏

polopolopolopoo · 10/03/2023 13:58

@Cappuccinopup huge results for you though, well done 😀

Prettybubblesintheair · 10/03/2023 14:02

I lost 4lb this week! I have been logging everything I eat and walking more. Not expecting this kind of loss regularly but it does feel good to see my hard work paying off. Three more lb and I’ll be under my next stone marker.

SmileLikeUMeanIt · 10/03/2023 15:28

Hi everyone, hope it's ok to join. Had my first injection on Wednesday, I'm on a starting dose of 0.5mg. Injection was totally painless but I have a small bruise. Starting weight 116.8kg 😫It's odd, sometimes I can't tell if I'm nauseous or hungry. Haven't eaten much over the last 2 days, about 800 cals each day but no chocolate craving which is refreshing.

HermioneWeasley · 10/03/2023 15:50

That’s fantastic @Prettybubblesintheair

of course @SmileLikeUMeanIt - all are welcome

Cozytoesandtoast00 · 10/03/2023 17:02

I'm on week 11 ( I think!) 1mg (2x 0.5, twice a week)
I weigh every day and I've hit another dreaded plateau.
I'm hopeful that I get another whoosh of weight loss soon which normally follows a plateau as I've not been eating much and appetite suppression is good.

I just did 9th injection Tues which I think means I’m on week 10 and feels like on my second week of 0.5 it’s just not working and over 5 weeks I’ve lost them gained the same pound basically so think I had better move up to 1mg next week….how many days apart do you do the 0.5?

AlternativelyWired · 10/03/2023 19:37

@OzzyOzworn how much have you lost in that 9/10 weeks? It will be working but the results won't necessarily be linear. If you divide that loss in pounds by the number of weeks so far you'll get your average weekly loss. Then multiply that figure by 26 to get what you should hopefully lose in 6 months. If that is 5% or more of your starting weight then it's working. I don't mean you have to share that info, just for your own guide on what you have lost and what you stand to lose by 6 months.

OzzyOzworn · 10/03/2023 21:43

9lb but only 3,3,2,1 then nothing since week 4:-

Lavendersquare · 10/03/2023 21:47

I'm midway through my second week on ozempic up until today I'd have said I haven't had any side effects, other than possibly being a little bit constipated.

Oh how that's changed! Started earlier, I needed to go whilst in work which was a bit urgent but ok. Then on my way home I felt the need to go again , made it home just in time and then had the most horrendous diarrhoea imaginable felt like I was stuck on the toilet for ever.

It's thankfully passed but stomach feels decidedly dodgy.

Do you think this is Ozempic related?

Absolutely no help to you I know but…god I’d love some diarrhoea 😂. Constipation is my only side effect and it’s horrible. In answer to your question yes I have heard of people getting a dodgy tummy on it.

MuMuMuuuum · 11/03/2023 07:14

I’m at the end of week 4 and have lost 7.7lbs so far, this is the most weight I’ve lost and the most consistent I’ve been in about 8 years.

week 1 - 2.4
week 2 - 1.9
week 3 - 1.1
week 4 - 2.3

I’m with Manual and my 0.5 pen has arrived but I’m going to use up the last doses in my 0.25 pen (I bought extra needles) before I go up as 0.25 is still working pretty well for me.

In terms of side effects constipation has been the most persistent. I did have a spell of nausea around week 2 but thankfully that’s gone away. This week I’ve been waking up at 4:30am and really struggling to fall back asleep, not sure if it’s related to Ozempic or just in a tricky sleeping pattern. It’s worth it for me as mainly the constant food chatter and thoughts surrounding food has gone. I’m making good choices (protein, fruit, veg, carbs in moderation) but not with any mental stress just very matter of fact. Also started back at the gym.

I’m very thankful to these threads as it gave me the courage to give it a try and so far I’m really pleased with my results.

weightymatters73 · 11/03/2023 07:39

11lb down as at today, quite pleased. Started at 211lb (15st1), Now 200lb (14st 4).

5% of my weight is 10.1 lb so "it works for me"

I'm on my 7th injection today.

I did have a 20 day plateau where I sat around the same weight but realistically I find my weight is very hormonally triggered and I have always gained and lost weight across my cycle.

I started this hoping to lose 5 stone.

My initial goal was 21lb and I was hoping to do a minimum of 14lb before my holiday on 1st April,, which looks achievable!

weightymatters73 · 11/03/2023 08:15

I should just add I am also "dieting" using a no calorie counting method - it averages about 1500 calories a day. I have never been able in my life recently (last 14 years) to diet without calorie counting and never at 1500 calorie level.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 11/03/2023 08:20

@MuMuMuuuum - please can you link me the extra needles? Thank you.

weightymatters73 · 11/03/2023 08:38

Cappuccinopup · 10/03/2023 11:36

Hi all. Haven’t kept up with this thread as there’s so many new joiners and it’s so active and fast paced 😂 but good luck to everyone starting!

I have been on ozempic for ten weeks today, and my weigh in today was 179.8lbs, so down 23lbs/1 stone 9lbs in ten weeks. I couldn’t be happier and I’m so glad I started. I am now over 50% to my goal weight in just 10 weeks 😁

I’m on 0.75mg now, I decided to go from 0.5mg to 0.75mg instead of jumping up to 1mg - I’m glad I did this, because the jump from 0.5mg to 0.75mg has been quite challenging at times! I’ve had quite unpleasant gastro issues since going up to 0.75mg but I’ve noticed it’s only when I eat certain foods - anything too fatty or too large of a portion size and my body will not respond well, so I’ve reduced portion sizes further and focusing on nutrient dense whole foods.

I plan to stay on 0.75mg for a month then dose up to 1mg in April, fingers crossed that goes smoothly.

what app is that you are using?

MuMuMuuuum · 11/03/2023 08:45

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 11/03/2023 08:20

@MuMuMuuuum - please can you link me the extra needles? Thank you.

These are the ones I ordered from Amazon amzn.eu/d/8XJx8u1

weightymatters73 · 11/03/2023 08:49

OzzyOzworn · 06/03/2023 14:07

So you can do 0.5 with it next time then start on the next pen at 0.5…

As far as I can work out we need 2 extra needles for the 1st pen and none extra after that as each pen contains 4 doses of either 0.5 or 1mg?

So essentially we need to buy 100 needles, to get 2 more....

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 11/03/2023 09:20

@weightymatters73 You can buy 1mg pens and count clicks for 0.5 doses and save money that way too, in which case you would need extra needles.

Wegovy comes in higher than 1mg doses and you can count the clicks with those also.

Good morning all. I’m looking for some kind people to give me some advice. I am very interested in Ozempic and MyJuniper. My weight loss journey had been going on for sometime and I have managed to lose a fair amount of weight. I am now considered overweight instead of obese but because of my previous success my doctor is not will to prescribe Ozempic - hence why I’m looking at other avenues and I’m happy to pay. I see MyJuniper is a possible option. Could someone tell me about their registration process and if I would also need to visit a doctor or already have a refer etc? I see there is a questionnaire to fill out but I also note that this is not reviewed until payment is received. I’d really like some more info and to hear you experiences. I did a quick search but couldn’t find a thread about it but if you know of one then perhaps you could point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance everyone😁

Hi @DyanDeutsch I started using Ozempic 2 weeks ago and use Juniper.

I signed up online and like you was dubious about paying before knowing if I had been accepted or not. However the payment isn't actually taken until you are accepted not when you send the questionnaire back, I presume if you're declined you don't have anything taken from your bank at all.

I know there are cheaper options but for me I wanted the back up support that they offer and I've been really pleased so far with the service, the online support group and how quickly they have answered by emails.

If you do want to sign up to Juniper I have a referral code that gives you £50 off your first order, for full disclosure I get £50 back too. If you want the code send me a pm.

Lavendersquare · 11/03/2023 11:27

@weightymatters73 somewhere down thread was a link to buy needles and they were only £7 a box so really not expensive. You can also buy over the counter at a pharmacy just tell them it's for an ozempic pen and they will sell you them.

Happierwithouthim · 11/03/2023 11:34
