🍁 LOSE IT! November 2022 🍁 🎄8 WEEK COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS 🎄

Hello and Welcome

Following on from the LOSE IT! October’s Thread here’s Novembers Thread.

🎄8 Week Count Down to Christmas 🎄😬 There is still time (for those who want to) for a body/mind/fitness overhaul before the festivities and family get together commence 🥳 Plus, who doesn’t want to start 2023 feeling more energised, fitter and svelte!

Jump right in! Reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself! Being mindful, planning ahead with a few tweaks here and there and it’s not impossible!

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating to LOSE or MAINTAIN. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding. We generally have a WOW (Weigh On Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable). It’s a journey, not a destination.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. I try not to drink calories and have very little processed food or sugar. I meal plan, set my intentions daily and exercise most days.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why? You can do it, if you really want too!

Can I please join you?

Im going to be IF-ing, lunch and evening meal only, aiming for an 18hr fast. Will be avoiding bread and other processed carbs as much as possible and trying not to snack either.

I have Seasonal Affective Disorder so this is prime time for me to crave carbs and gain weight. So far this year I've maintained the weight I lost over the summer holidays and whilst this is a huge win for me I'd also like to lose more to fit into some more of my clothes for winter.

TheRealHousewife · 29/10/2022 14:58

Welcome to the thread @WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa . Well done on maintaining your loss to date. I agree the colder months are more difficult to navigate. I myself crave more carbs and I do have them if I want them but try to keep within my calorie limit 👍

I'm in!

7 months PP with DC2 and the extra weight gained during 2 pregnancies in under 2 years is bothering me! I'm 2 dress sizes bigger now than I was pre-DC and I'm ready to get back in shape.

I'll be following the Exante diet. Lost 1.5 stone on it in 7 weeks previously so hoping to lose the same again in time for Christmas 🤞 That'll only leave me with 1 more stone to lose.

Slightlystressedwife · 29/10/2022 15:31

Thanks for the new thread as always @TheRealHousewife

TheRealHousewife · 29/10/2022 15:43

You’re very welcome @Slightlystressedwife , great to have you join us again.

Welcome to the thread @NanaBobo I’ve not heard of exante before. You’ve used it before and had results … no reason why you won’t again 👍

LadyWithLapdog · 29/10/2022 15:57

Thanks for the new thread. I’m not snacking (mostly) or drinking alcohol. I’ll be going up to bed early so I’m not tempted to snack.

Cloudberries123 · 29/10/2022 16:14

Checking in for the start of November in a couple of days 💪🏻

I'm losing weight postpartum too NanaBobo it's slow going but I'm determined to be a fit and healthy mum for my kid (and future kids) which is a pretty great motivator.

Lost 2kg so far since mid-September which is slowish but I want it to be off forever.

Thanks as always RealHousewife

FireflyGirl · 30/10/2022 07:05

Joining please.' I'm looking for accountability and support.

I managed to lose weight on one of these threads after DS, then lost two close family members, had a MMC (absolute nightmare being back and forth to hospital for 2 months) then got pregnant with DD just before lockdown, managed to lose some weight this time last year then started back to work and put it all back on and then some 🙄.

I plan to calorie count with MFP, which has worked for me before. And meal plan, but I do that anyway. So, interested to see what meals everyone is having

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 30/10/2022 08:35

I have a beef brisket in the slow cooker today, to cook while we are out all day. It's been marinating in Barbacoa seasoning and will be pulled for tacos etc, really looking forward to it!

SanFranBear · 30/10/2022 09:33

Thanks for the spangly new thread, RealHousewife - here's to a successful November, lovely to have some new people join in as well as seeing the old 'faces' too.

I calorie count on MFP, too Firefly and have lost a significant amount since the start of the year... getting closer to goal but got a little way to go yet so need the motivation that this thread brings - its such a lovely, non-judgemental place and has definitely played a major part in me staying on the straight and narrow.

Your dinner sounds delicious, WeKnowFrogs.. I'm going to attempt to make a Two Chubby Cubs recipe this afternoon - stuffed Yorkshire Pudding wraps. My two DC adore Yorkshire's so hoping it'll be a win?

I'll weigh myself on Tuesday morning so I have a starting point for November and can decide what my mini goal for the month should be!

TheRealHousewife · 30/10/2022 10:17

Good Morning All 😊

Welcome to the new thread @LadyWithLapdog . I try to not drink calories either, I’d rather have nutritious foods 😋

@Cloudberries123 2kg is good progress 👍

Welcome @FireflyGirl Weight loss/management is not easy for a lot of people. I for one try to see it as a lifestyle in that I eat the way I eat all of the time. If I take the breaks off and stop measuring/counting calories, even with a clean diet I gain. I have a Mediterranean style diet cooked from scratch (sans gluten) IF and calorie count. If I didn’t eat the way I do I’d be heavier … much heavier 😬 You’ll soon start to see a loss 👍

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa Beef brisket , sounds delicious 😋 I very nearly bought beef myself for the weekend but ended up buying the usual chicken.

Hi @SanFranBear Im weighing too Tuesday to get a start point 😬. Any news on the housing front?

Menu
Meal 1 - Roast chicken dinner. Might end up being an OMAD day.
Meal 2 - Sharing platter from fridge (if needed)

Enjoy your Sunday, whatever you’re doing ❤️

Checking in
Thanks to @TheRealHousewife for keeping the motivation going

November is going to be a strict month after half term's excesses. IF and concentrating on protein intake.

Running continues (8.5 miles today 😁) and DH has finally persuaded me to join his gym for a bit of strength training tuition as im worried about going heavier with weights (injury fear!)

Welcome newbies and warm hugs to old faces, at the risk of sounding like a broken record this is our month!!
Goal for me is to get under 65kg (and stay there!)

TheRealHousewife · 30/10/2022 13:15

@milkfromthesleepycow You’re welcome. I try to make headway or rather should that be room for the inevitable excess of late December 😬. Nonetheless I weigh less than this time last year which I’m pleased about. Great run you did, well done 👍

Joining! Lost weight in lock down, maintained but slowly crept back on. I was still green bmi last week but this week I’m back into overweight. I need to lose a few kilos so I don’t go back up to where I was when I lost.

Keeping fingers crossed I can do this.

Cakeybake · 30/10/2022 16:51

Can I join please? I weighed mysf yesterday morning and have started the new regime since then. Planning on IF, high protein, low carb and would like to lose a much as I can before Christmas. I'll be cutting out all alcohol. I'm not a big drinker anyway so shouldn't be a problem and will just be the Designated Driver on any nights out!

siucra · 30/10/2022 16:55

I'm in! My plan is to intermittent fast. Eat whole foods, no alcohol, limit sweets things. I'm overweight at the moment and plan to lose at least half a stone by Christmas xx

siucra · 30/10/2022 16:56

Also I plan to do yoga every day (Adriene), cycle to work on my e-bike, be positive and try and be more 'open' to life. Not sure what that entails exactly but going to try.

MercuryRising · 30/10/2022 21:55

I'm in! I would love to lose a stone before Christmas. I'm planning on using MFP.

FireflyGirl · 31/10/2022 07:39

Morning all, happy Monday!

Yesterday's meals were:
B: 2 slices of toast with spread and an apple
L: Roast chicken dinner. I only had a couple of roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings, so it was mostly chicken and veg.

D: poached eggs on breakfast muffins with rocket (I made these myself, the eggs were a bit of a disaster - I cannot poach eggs for the life of me!)

S: 4 after eights and a handful of grapes

I went just over my calories on MFP, but was near as damn it, and apparently earned 720 Cals from activity 🤨 but I don't plan to use those unless it's a special occasion. So, I'm feeling positive. Week days will be the hardest for me, though - I always get starving when I'm sat working!

I'll post my SW etc when everyone else joins the thread tomorrow, but just keeping track for now.

MercuryRising · 31/10/2022 07:47

So mfp redowloaded. Garmin charged and ready to count steps. SW 13.0.8... not good but at least I'm starting ....

Looking forward to following everyone's successes.

giatta · 31/10/2022 09:35

I'm in, thank you for the new thread @TheRealHousewife

CrimsonAlligator · 31/10/2022 10:53

Reporting for the November thread... I’ve lost my way a bit in October, but ready to try again in November.

I’d be happy if I end the year weighing as much as I did at the start. I shouldn’t be too far off, but probably a few pounds heavier at the moment.

I’ll be calorie counting and training for a 10k rowing “race” in December. I’ve had to temporarily halt that after being hit by bug after bug, but fingers crossed I can pick that up again. It’s not a real race, just me in my garage trying to set a good (for me!) 10k time. That doesn’t stop me from taking it very seriously though. I’ve been training hard for the last three months! 😇

ImALittlePea · 31/10/2022 11:02

Checking in - thank you as ever @TheRealHousewife for keeping these threads (and all of us) going!

I'm SO ready to leave October behind and move into the new month!

DoctorAcula · 31/10/2022 13:26

👋 I desperately need some help. I was around 13st at the start of lockdown, now I'm 2st heavier. I've not been looking after myself and I really do need to. I love unhealthy food, wine and white carbs and despise exercise.
Wfh (since 2020) hasn't helped. My step count can be as low as 700 a day.

My plan is to only eat when hungry. Drink lots of water and herbal teas. Small portions of unprocessed foods with a cut off of 7pm.

TheRealHousewife · 31/10/2022 18:08

Happy Halloween & Happy Monday 🎃👻🎃👻🎃👻🎃

Welcome to the thread @MissHavershamReturns Youve done it before, you’ll do it again 👍

Hi @Cakeybake Having a plan is half way there. Set your intentions regularly and you’ll soon see results.

Welcome to the thread @DoctorAcula @FireflyGirl @giatta @LadyWithLapdog @MercuryRising @NanaBobo @siucra @ImALittlePea @CrimsonAlligator

@DoctorAcula Don’t despair. Set small achievable targets and build up. You don’t want to over burden yourself and set yourself up to fail. Can you set a reminder on your phone to move regularly for 5 minutes. Every 45 minutes or so. That will get your step count up. I don’t know if you have caring responsibilities but can you get outside and walk before or after work or during breaks? What are you eating generally?

Menu
Meal 1 - Cheese on GF toast. 😋

Meal 2 - Hearty homemade minestrone soup.
Tea, black coffee and water.

Im rushing to post as I’ve lost one already. Apologies if I’ve missed anyone.

Let’s make some serious progress in November 👍👍👍
