🍁 LOSE IT! November 2022 🍁 🎄8 WEEK COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS 🎄

Hello and Welcome

Following on from the LOSE IT! October’s Thread here’s Novembers Thread.

🎄8 Week Count Down to Christmas 🎄😬 There is still time (for those who want to) for a body/mind/fitness overhaul before the festivities and family get together commence 🥳 Plus, who doesn’t want to start 2023 feeling more energised, fitter and svelte!

Jump right in! Reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself! Being mindful, planning ahead with a few tweaks here and there and it’s not impossible!

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating to LOSE or MAINTAIN. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding. We generally have a WOW (Weigh On Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable). It’s a journey, not a destination.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. I try not to drink calories and have very little processed food or sugar. I meal plan, set my intentions daily and exercise most days.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why? You can do it, if you really want too!

As my previous post took so long to write I’ve cross posted with some of you.

Excellent point @Cloudberries123 People do have to be ready and have their own ‘aha’ moment. Nonetheless you are inspiring your nearest and dearest which is fantastic. 👍👏 I totally agree with @CrimsonAlligator that the psychological side of weight loss can be complex for some. It take a brave person to start to unravel their own psyche but it can sow life long rewards.

@Cloudberries123 part of the reason we’re overnighting two nights in Vancouver is the desire to get through the jet lag without home responsibilities. No dishes laundry stress. Just lots of time to nap on and off despite the actual hour.
yes, I’ll get planning and on the scale tomorrow afternoon and start there. I’ll push towards 135.

fallfallfall · 03/11/2022 10:02

@Cloudberries123 thank you for sharing the family info, I hope they enjoy their time visiting you and maybe a few healthier meals along with pearls of wisdom from what you’ve learned.
having someone else in your life that’s supportive is huge, high five to the helpful partners!

giatta · 03/11/2022 12:54

@Cloudberries123 @Allthegoodnamestakken @TheRealHousewife Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement. Reset and restart, definitely

Hello, popping in again to join the thread from October :-)

SanFranBear · 03/11/2022 20:21

So sorry to have been quiet - quite a hectic few days as big deadline at work and... drum roll - we found a house! It's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination and, being only a two bed, I'll be on a sofa bed for a while but we were accepted which is a massive improvement on the last few months. Looks like we'll be out in a month as well and my current landlord is being super kind re deposit and notice so hopefully should go smoothly!

Funnily enough, all this running around has meant a good few days on the diet and I got out for a decent walk last night (although was told there was a storm incoming so ended up trekking in waterproof trousers for no real reason 😆) Ah well, hopefully will show ok the scales tomorrow as so hopeful I'll be down from Tuesday - fingers crossed I'll be back under 70kg.

Sorry not to namecheck everyone but will get back on it tomorrow. All I'll say is lots of positive posting, lovely support and great tips - thanks everyone!

TheRealHousewife · 03/11/2022 20:46

@SanFranBear thats fantastic news! That’s a weight of your mind 👍

Hi @Vikki7 great to have you join us all again 😊

@giatta thats the spirit! You can do it!

Okay so:

SW (a bit inflated by post baby swelling):
13 st 9
CW: 10 st 8.6
GW: 9 st 9

Goal for November: 10 st 5

Thanks for the advice. It's a good point I could squeeze some high intensity stuff in during naps. I will make that the little goal for this week.

fallfallfall · 03/11/2022 22:10

Great news @SanFranBear!

SanFranBear · 04/11/2022 07:14

It's my weigh day aaaand... I'm down over 2kg's! This is since my early week weigh in so not a true reflection as I had eaten loads of salty food so really only about 1kg down from this time last week but still, chuffed! Also goes to show just how much weight can fluctuate.

SW: 104.7kg
CW: 68.2kg
November GW: 67kg

Has meant a revised goal as have hit the previous one already! I thought I'd aim for about 10½ stone which is likely pushing it (and I have a night away with a friend next Friday!) but aim high and all that!

Heading into the weekend feeling really positive - house sorted, weight still under control, big city fireworks display on Saturday (I know lots of people hate them, but I adore fireworks and this is the first proper display we'll have been to for years)... November is shaping up well so far!

Happy Friday everyone!

Nishky32 · 04/11/2022 08:10

First SW weigh in - down 1 1/2 lbs

starting: 14 stones 11
current: 14 9.5
goal: 11 12

TheRealHousewife · 04/11/2022 09:32

Good Morning Everyone

50 Days until Christmas 🎄😮 It’s coming too quickly! Really behind with the prep this year so I’d better shake a leg.

@PumperQuarter You've made great strides already! Don’t forget you’ve made a little human 👶 I think you’re doing great and your goal for November seems sensible 👍

@Nishky32 Thats a good start! Well done 👍 Now repeat 😬

@SanFranBear Bloody well done … see, I told you finding your next home would be a weight of your mind 👍👏😉

I had a sneaky weigh-in as I felt bloated & puffy … up 1.5lbs since October 31st! I’m blaming pain meds, the gf pasta & salt in my minestrone and having large portions of it 😳I’m pleased I weighed so I can take action before next official WOW.

Menu
Meal 1 - Smaller portion minestrone soup.
Meal 2 - Hake, carrots, peas, kale & small portion quinoa.
Tea, black coffee & water.

  1. Bloated in every way imaginable. I look forward to rehydrating and getting into my routine. the house is incredibly quiet, we have snow, it’s cold and slippery outside..
TheRealHousewife · 04/11/2022 12:14

Hi @fallfallfall Welcome back! I need to remember to drink water ... thank you for mentioning keeping hydrated!

ImALittlePea · 04/11/2022 12:39

Morning all

Right, not going to be able to scroll back and name check everyone but trying to resume more normal posting...

So pleased you found a house @SanFranBear and well done on the weigh in!

Good for you listening to your body and weighing today @TheRealHousewife I'm sure you'll pull it back 💪

Glad you're home and having some peace after your holiday @fallfallfall - enjoy getting back to normality!

To everyone else - a general hi 👋 you're all doing marvellously!

I feel the best I've felt so far today. No pain meds for two days now, and down to just the antibiotic on a daily basis. Still a bit weak on my feet, but managed a trip to the supermarket this morning, small steps but so glad to be where I am considering where I was on Sunday!

Today's weigh in was a -3.5lb from last week. Not surprisingly given everything! Plus, last week I'd had quite a big gain following on from the op recovery and a few unplanned takeaways. Net loss over the last fortnight is just over 1lb, which feels about right and is enough to set me off into the weekend in a good place.

TheRealHousewife · 04/11/2022 13:17

Hi @ImALittlePea that's a great update. Really pleased you're feeling somewhat better and that there is a silver lining in having been ill (although I'm sure you'd have rather not been ill iyswim)

OP posts:
ImALittlePea · 04/11/2022 13:31

I'd definitely choose less extreme ways to lose weight 😉 @TheRealHousewife

I hope you and OH are feeling a bit better today? (Sorry I missed that update when I failed attempted to catch up earlier)

SanFranBear · 04/11/2022 14:37

You make me smile, RealHousewife - a weight off my mind, indeed! Impressed with your steely resolve and I'm sure your gain is only temporary!

Lovely to hear you're feeling better and have been able to leave the house, LittlePea - hoping your upward trajectory continues and you're fully back on your feet soon.

It's always nice to be home, fallfall.. and snow! That's exciting although slippery patches aren't the best - take care out there!

fallfallfall · 04/11/2022 15:01

148.6 this am. Happy to not see 150! Looking forward to the next few days. Hoping to settle at 145, I’d be willing to accept a 4 lb gain. That would mean 10lbs to go towards my new goal.
Dh on board with resuming our IF (eating between 09:30 and 17:30).
Unpacking plan; 5 items per hour.
My water bottle is full.

CrimsonAlligator · 04/11/2022 16:45

That’s brilliant news on the house @SanFranBear ! Congratulations 🥳

Glad to hear you’re continuing to improve @ImALittlePea

I’m sure any gain will only be temporary @TheRealHousewife and @fallfallfall

It’s not been the best day for me. I somehow managed to eat most of a bar of chocolate...oops! This is what happens every single time I do sprint training. It just pushes my carb cravings to a whole new level! 😳 On a positive note though, it burns a lot of calories, so as long as I stick to a tiny dinner I should be ok-ish. I need to find a better carb fix though....

TheRealHousewife · 04/11/2022 18:53

@fallfallfall Sounds like you are very organised. The main thing I use my Apple Watch for is the timer. Especially on my more achy painy days so I move and do at least a small job every hour. 😬

OP posts:
fallfallfall · 04/11/2022 19:31

@TheRealHousewife those kinds of organizational tricks that are insanely hard with little ones around or having someone else dictate what your day will involve.
luggage dealt with, next comes laundry...
B: oatmeal with blueberries
L: baked beans with a biscuit
S: chicken and rice stir fry (purchased yesterday/take out) today i will add in some extra bean sprouts.
ahead of schedule with the water intake.

fallfallfall · 04/11/2022 20:45

PS that comment about it being hard was in relation to me having been away at my daughters home...

TheRealHousewife · 05/11/2022 07:45

Good Morning

Damp and dark here today … only 46 days until Winter Solstice and days becoming longer (December 21st).

I totally agree @fallfallfall ! It’s really difficult when we need to fit into others routines. I meant organised about your unpacking plan. I really dislike packing (can never decide what to take/leave) and actually find unpacking the easier of the two evils 😬

@CrimsonAlligator Sounds like you’ve been training hard. What about a protein shake? Would that not touch the craving? In all honestly I think if you’ve burnt zillion of calories a bit of what you fancy (chocolate) is a just reward 😊

Menu
Meal 1 - Halloumi stir fry.
Meal 2 - Chicken & vegetables.
Tea, black coffee and water.

Exercise - Going to restart Monday. Still feel a bit blur.

LadyWithLapdog · 05/11/2022 10:26

Good morning. It’s drizzling down here. Only plan for today is a belated birthday restaurant outing for DS. It’s at a particular restaurant, where I know the vegan menu inside out, so I might have something else instead. No plans for the evening.

Well done for your various achievements, weight, exercise, house, or illness recovery. I’ve been burying my head in the sand a bit. I’ve taken out some winter trousers and skirts and they still fit, hoping to go a size down.
