Diet for Christmas challenge

OhFatty · 24/07/2022 15:30

I know it’s boiling hot and far too early but does anyone want to start a Christmas diet?

I’ve got a LOT to lose and in June I set myself a target of 4 stone by Christmas. So far I’ve lost 1 stone 3, so starting today my new target is going to be 40lbs by Christmas (although more would be very welcome 😀) My weigh day is Monday. I’ll update here every week, and hopefully some others will join me?

Yes I'd like to continue. Its a real shame @OhFatty hasn't been back but I guess we could start a new thread with those who want to carry on?

TheBatwoman · 09/12/2022 18:28

Yes that sounds like a great idea. I’d be up for that - would be great to stay on track!

Dashel · 09/12/2022 20:13

Thank you @WutheringShites86 @TheBatwoman

@WutheringShites86 that is a great loss and I hope that you feel better as well.

I would definitely like to for us to start another thread although I would vote for it not to be Christmas named when we are starting in January. It might kick off the winter blues!

Dashel · 10/12/2022 14:14

Hope everyone is having a great weekend x

My weigh in this morning was 10st 3.9lb so no change from yesterday. Which is amazing as I only managed 6k steps due to work being crazy. According to the NHS website 10st 1lb is the top of the overweight BMI category for me, so nearly normal for a change🤣

We are going out for a meal tonight so went for a 2 hour walk this morning and according to Fitbit, I burnt 635 calories so 🥳 and I’m currently on 16k steps so it should help even out today.

chocolate protein oats for breakfast, scrambled tofu with onions and peppers on a bagel with spinach and tomatoes for lunch then in the restaurant bruschetta and pizza for dinner.

Isyesterdaytomorrowtoday · 12/12/2022 09:54

hey Everyone! Feeling v close to Christmas now! how are you all? Well done to those still losing and managing to keep active

I’m definitely struggling a bit this last week. I’ve had 3 meals out in last 7 days and 3 more in diary for this week which isn’t helping at all. I have tried to walk as much as possible and eat well outside of the meals out though.

I didn’t weigh in yesterday or today as I have a feeling it may not be good news, definitely feel a bit bloated. Popped back on the thread to remind myself why I’m here so will weigh in tomorrow otherwise I fear it could be a slippery slope.

hope everyone had a great week!

WutheringShites86 · 12/12/2022 16:16

I'm sort of disregarding the scales for now @Isyesterdaytomorrowtoday and just trying to be healthy eating around the festivities then planning to get back on properly in Jan.

I've been taken over by the Christmas holiday spirit a bit already!

Stepcount · 13/12/2022 07:21

Hi everyone, sorry I have been absent. December is always busy as I have both DDs birthdays and Christmas to sort.
I am pretty much STS on the scales- which is unexpected. I’m probably a bit like you @Isyesterdaytomorrowtoday in that I am trying to keep a sensible balance most of the time but not restricting myself in other ways. I’m definitely not dieting at the moment but I will be restarting in the new year and would love to join the next group on here.

Isyesterdaytomorrowtoday · 13/12/2022 07:37

Weighed in this morning at 12st 13, can’t quite believe it! Had hoped to get under 13 for Christmas and I just squeezed in there (can’t imagine there’ll be much more in next week or so) really pleased! 2st 11 lost this year

WutheringShites86 · 13/12/2022 16:45

That's fantastic @Isyesterdaytomorrowtoday Well done!

Isyesterdaytomorrowtoday · 13/12/2022 16:56

Thank you! I have to say I was expecting it to feel much more dramatic but I think I was really in denial about how bad it had got.

still 12lbs to healthy BMI and 20lbs to what I think is my target

Stepcount · 24/12/2022 19:05

Merry Christmas everyone. Despite being off track during December I have managed to maintain a 21lb loss so heading into 2023 in a good headspace. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas 🎄 see you next year when hopefully we can start a new thread with a new focus 💪🏻

WutheringShites86 · 24/12/2022 20:20

Merry Christmas @Stepcount and all! I have to say, I wasn't expecting to see a new message on the thread, I'm firmly off the diet wagon and on the festive one for now! Hats off to you @Stepcount, that's a great end to the year 👍.

What are we doing for the next thread? Valentines? Easter (gym bunnies)?

WheelofLife · 25/12/2022 01:15

Well done everyone who managed to lose weight. I didn’t lose more than two pounds but have better hopes for the New Year. Will you put a link to the new thread here so that I can find you?

Merry Christmas everyone x

Dashel · 25/12/2022 04:27

@Stepcount that is amazing congratulations!

Happy Christmas everyone.

I will weigh in in a few days as I have had Covid and definitely been off plan. It’s hit me really hard and although I have been negative for a few days the coughing and tiredness are just as bad as ever and I have been having trouble sleeping with the coughing so will power has been pants and steps very low.

I like the gym bunny for Easter idea and am definitely back on it as soon as I feel human again.

TheBatwoman · 25/12/2022 08:33

Happy Christmas everyone!

My final weigh in was 71kg (11st and 3lbs o think) for a total weight loss of 21kg (46lbs or 3st and 4lbs). Most importantly I’m able to run around after my twins without struggling so much now, which is the best Xmas gift ever! 😄

Wishing you all have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. Looking forward to the new thread and catching up with you all in the new year!

Dashel · 02/01/2023 08:50

Good morning everyone! Happy New Year to you all!

I weighed in this morning at 10st 9lb so a 5lb gain from my best December weight. Covid and Christmas have really set my plans back as I was hoping to be under 10st by Christmas.

I know some of this will be water weight but I need to get back on it as I will be on holiday in four months.

I had a quick look for a new thread and apologies if I have missed it, but shall I start a new thread?Maybe Diet for the Summer or anything else?

WutheringShites86 · 02/01/2023 11:47

Happy New Year! I haven't seen a new thread either @Dashel so think that's a good idea if you want to start it.

My Xmas gain has been more than I expected 😬 so need so get back on track!

TheBatwoman · 02/01/2023 14:02

Sounds like a great plan if you’re happy to thanks @Dashel

Definitely ready to get back into it now after a slightly more relaxed Christmas/New Year break.

Dashel · 02/01/2023 19:13

I have started a new thread and hope to see everyone over there x
