☀️THE SUMMER COUNTDOWN THREAD 2 ☀️

Fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself in time for a Sizzling Summer!

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating to LOSE or MAINTAIN. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have a WOW (Weigh On Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

I have a love hate relationship with clothes and regardless of how much I buy I wear the same 3-5 pieces to death.I ordered myself an aspirational piece the other day….from the UK, I ordered a 14 to be safe.

Ending the month at a miraculous 154,7
i started June 165. But started calorie counting around the 5th.
certainly encouraging, pumpkin seeds lesson learned.

10 pounds in a month? Wow well done.

I'm guessing there's more to it than just cutting out pumpkin seeds haha.

Dress is lovely. I've not been using a weight target as I feel ill never be content with the number on the scale, but I will be content if u can comfortably fit into the clothes I wore three years ago!

CrimsonAlligator · 30/06/2022 16:51

That’s a lovely dress @fallfallfall. I love that combination of pink flowers on a red background 😍

fallfallfall · 30/06/2022 16:57

thank's @CrimsonAlligator , i like to have one nice something per season (well at least a summer, winter and something that works spring or fall) JUST IN CASE. i picked up a cream bolero and a "matching" purse. also hit up the kate spade 40% off event for a new purse and wallet.
@123ROLO calorie counting and sticking as close to 800 as possible with some added in 16/8 days. right now i'm not hungry but am awaiting some supplements i ordered in the mail. i'm having difficulty getting in the protein and fiber and will need to go back and check my calcium intake.

Have you been able to stick to 800 cals every day? I've been doing roughly that for 5 days and I definitely couldn't do it much longer!

Not quite supplements, I've ordered some bone broth and apple cider vinegar which I'm gonna have on my lower calorie days. They are meant to be very good for you

fallfallfall · 30/06/2022 17:27

@123ROLO , i'm not hungry or thinking about my "next" meal BUT it takes time to balance what's in the fridge, what i think i'm missing, and keeping it low.
with no kids and no formal work (i have tasks i set myself like most retired folk) i can manage when focused.
B: one boiled egg, one small slice of toast 42 gm, butter 1/2 tsp, baked beans 50gm, and strawberries 50gm. plus my multivit came in at 291.
make sure you drink your water, i'm taking in 2+ liters/ 64 oz plus two cups of tea.
L: will be veggies and hummus or hallumi and kale??
S: www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/lentil-sweet-potato-curry (1/4 portion) served with cauliflower

Benjispruce4 · 30/06/2022 20:21

@fallfallfall snap! I’ve just had a sweet potato curry too.
B- soft boiled egg on seedy toast
L- small tin of mackerel in tomato sauce with salad, apple, clementine
D sweet potato/ spinach and coconut (reduced fat) milk curry.

SanFranBear · 30/06/2022 22:18

I was having a good, low calorie day and then made the 'mistake' of popping in on a friend on her birthday just in time for cake cutting! I couldn't say no to the birthday girl but it was a rich, Reeces peanut butter cup, three layer of deliciousness creation! Soo good though..

Gives me something to blame if my weigh day tomorrow is a bit disappointing 😆

Not sure if we should set up a July thread as RealHousewife is clearly struggling with t'internet? Be strange not to have a new one for the first of the month although we've still got a few posts on here before it's completely full?

Benjispruce4 · 30/06/2022 22:31

@SanFranBear i always say I’ll take it home to eat then give to DH. But, I’m not
a cake fan.

fallfallfall · 30/06/2022 22:33

@SanFranBear you’re so active you will be fine!!

Completely baffled by this, but I've somehow lost 1/2lb this week! I suppose the running around after the toddler must have offset the holiday calories?! Or, the impact will be delayed until next week.

So that's a total loss of 3.5lb this month for me - I think that's my biggest cumulative loss for a few months so I'm super happy with that!

Bring on July 🥳
