Starting tomorrow, I need to lose roughly three stone, and generally sort myself out.

I am a mess 😀

I'm 10 stone 11 and feel at my best around 9 stone, though with my weight training getting increasingly heavier realise that it's not all about the number on the scale.

TreacheryPepper · 03/04/2022 11:23

I'm starting a new regime tomorrow. I'm going to try low carb. Prior to my wedding I lost six stone in nine month using Slimming World, but I think it was about being accountable (weekly weigh-in) rather than the diet itself.

Sunnierdays · 03/04/2022 11:24

@Happymama24 that looks delicious !!

TeddyGirl1982 · 03/04/2022 11:26

Oops meant 10 stone, I'd look too skinny at 9 stone!

madambutterbap · 03/04/2022 11:28

👋 to the new joiners.

@TreacheryPepper I know what you mean about the accountability - it'd be worth whatever extortionate sum SW/ WW charge nowadays for me to get weighed, but there aren't many meetings near me, so I can't even use that option!

I received my health screening reports today - they were very depressing a good reminder that I have lots to work on Confused

MooPointCowsOpinion · 03/04/2022 11:43

Morning all!
I’ve done a 30 min strong yoga session this morning (nearly killed me!!), meals are: poached egg on brown sourdough, protein shake, roast chicken salad for dinner.
My arms are hurting! Usually would have a lovely long dog walk but the dog has tummy troubles, so will go for a walk alone later. I think I’m going to try and get 7000 steps a day, which isn’t a lot but in school holidays I find it hard to get to my usual 10000.

MooPointCowsOpinion · 03/04/2022 11:44

Protein powder I like: PhD Diet Whey, high protein lean matrix in vanilla crème. It’s yummy! And dairy free.

Cazalet · 03/04/2022 12:24

I’m in please. Being trying on and off since January without success. 11st 3 lbs today. Ultimate goal is 9 st. Going on a mini break in 6 weeks and would love to have lost a stone by then. I don’t have a sweet tooth but drink a lot of wine which leads to crisps, crackers and dips at 9 pm. Also cannot even look at bread if I want to lose weight.

It’s a great time to start a diet, 3 months before fitting in swimsuits and bikinis for Summer hols (for those of us in UK).

Midgetwithaplan · 03/04/2022 12:44

Have been to Morrisons and meal planned for the week:
Breakfast - banana (start work at 7am, so take it with me and eat about 10 to keep me going til lunch)
Lunch - crispbreads with cottage cheese, pepper, carrot sticks, cucumber and cherry tomatoes
Dinners -
Thai veg curry + wholegrain rice
Veg chilli +oven chips/wholegrain rice/spaghetti (a big pan does 3 meals)
Roasted veg + pasta/homemade garlic bread (2 meals worth)
The meals will include protein from beans/quorn mince

Now I just have to try and keep away from chocolate....

frostedfruit · 03/04/2022 12:57

Hi all is it OK to join? I've put on a stone in 6 months (1.5 stone in 1 year so it's gathering pace) so I need to curb it before it gets out of control.
My biggest downfall is grabbing toast and crumpets with lots of butter and cheese or jam every time I feel like it.
My toaster broke last week so it's a sign!!

I only have one pair of stretchy leggings that still fit, all my jeans are now too small to zip, let alone do up the top button. I need to lose at least half a stone as I can't afford to buy a whole new wardrobe, that's the main reason tbh!

Today I've had omelette, porridge and going to make chilli for dinner. I should do some exercise but I feel so lazy I can't get motivated.

Garfieldismyspiritanimal · 03/04/2022 12:59

Lovely to meet you all! Hope you are having good days. I have done a bit of gardening, read a book, planted some broad beans and just had a salad for lunch. Sunshine really helps my mood.

Garfieldismyspiritanimal · 03/04/2022 12:59

@frostedfruit carbs with butter is my downfall too. And chocolate.

frostedfruit · 03/04/2022 13:17

@Garfieldismyspiritanimal I'm going to miss my buttered crumpets the most!

moggerhanger · 03/04/2022 13:19

@frostedfruit yes, I'm down to one pair of jeans and two pairs of joggers! And I'm too tight-fisted to buy new bigger clothes.

LadyLolaRuben · 03/04/2022 13:20

Checking in. My diet starts tomorrow. Good luck everyone

LndnGrl · 03/04/2022 13:27

My menu this week is Spanish omelette with salad for brunch, and dinners will be fajita chicken and salad, chicken wings and salad or very heavy on the veg soup. Snacks are greek yoghurt, a couple of biscuits (and tea) at 26 cals, 2.6 net carbs each (though I need to cut those out), or dark chocolate.

zobalina77 · 03/04/2022 13:50

Hi, can I join you all? I managed to lose 7.5 stone before covid and have gained 3.5 of that back over the last 2 years. I've given myself a stern talking to as I really don't want to end up back where I started. I'm back to wearing stretchy clothes as I don't want to buy anything in a bigger size and barely anything fits.

My downfall is carbs so I'm going to give them a miss the best I can and start doing bodypump and the like again.

KittyB52 · 03/04/2022 13:58

Can I join you please?
I posted in here yesterday asking about an alternative to WW. I know I want to lose at least 3 stone, possibly more.

I think my diet relies too much on carbs, but I don’t feel ‘full’ without them. I’m looking for inspiration as I don’t like salad (well, I’m not a fan of leafy shiz, although I do like veggies), and I don’t really enjoy soup. Oh, and I know I don’t drink enough water, as I feel the cold and prefer hot drinks (not a fan of herbal teas).

Just read that back and I am such a picky sod. Grin

Tea counts towards your daily water intake I think.
AntoinetteCosway · 03/04/2022 14:19

Can I join? I'm doing Louise Parker (just the books, not the crazy 1:1s), and refuse to weigh myself but I've just finished week 3 and my coat that didn't do up for ages now does up. I'm going on holiday in the summer and am determined to be healthier and fitter. I had long covid that destroyed my fitness levels, and now is the time to get back to me.

LndnGrl · 03/04/2022 14:38

Do people think it will be helpful to state an aim or goal for the coming week? If so, what's everyone's aim for this week?

I'm going to try to hit 10k steps each day and cut out the sweetener in my tea. I've got stevia but I'm still not convinced it's any better for me. I'm trying to get my fasting blood glucose down. Last week I was in the 7/8's and need to be under 7.

I'm starting a new job this week so it might disrupt me a bit but it's part time and wfh so shouldn't impact much.

MooPointCowsOpinion · 03/04/2022 14:57

@LndnGrl great idea! This week I am going to hit 90g of protein every day, work out every day, take my vitamins every day and do 16:8 (and hopefully lose 2lbs but who can predict that part…!)

CaptainCallisto · 03/04/2022 15:33

Great idea @LdnGrl - my aim for the week is to make all my lunches the night before (so I don't end up grabbing crisps and a sandwich) and to drink at least 1.5l of water every day.

CaptainCallisto · 03/04/2022 15:39
  • @LndnGrl even! Excuse my dodgy typing!
