Starting tomorrow, I need to lose roughly three stone, and generally sort myself out.

I am a mess 😀

It's been a bad week here. Another unexpected hospital stay for DS2 (he's home now) has meant another stint of living off food I can keep in a cupboard with only a microwave and a kettle. I started out with good intentions - lots of low cal things like mugshots - but I was constantly hungry, so by the time he was discharged I was back to stodgy crap and crisps. It was back to work for me today though, so I'm hoping being back in a routine will get me back on track! I'm feeling really bloaty and lethargic so I've at least proved to myself how much better I feel when I eat well!

Gufo · 26/04/2022 19:09

That sounds tough, captain - definitely cut yourself some slack! Hope your DS is ok.

I've bought some scales, found and recharged my fitbit and done a 15 minute chloe ting hiit video that nearly killed me! I'm also going to not eat anything else today and get back into IF - it made me feel better last time I did it, even if weight loss was neglible.

I also worked out my BMI - right at the upper end of the healthy weight scale. Have set myself an 8lb challenge to lose.

CaptainCallisto · 26/04/2022 21:23

He's alright thanks, Gufo - it was a flare up of an ongoing issue. Never pleasant, but at least they've worked out what it is now, so the hospital staff know what to do with him when he gets there. Up until this time last year, it was a case of running loads of tests and scans and we'd be in for a long time. Now they can do a couple of scans, one blood test, and then home once they're satisfied he's stable and can be treated by us here. Only five days this time - it frequently used to be 12-14+ so a vast improvement!

How is everyone today? 5lbs down here but today I have gone waaaay over my cals so I expect tomorrow I will have put one on. Injured my foot on Monday so my steps are down too. But I feel a bit crap and lazy after eating badly today so that will motivate me to do better tomorrow I hope!

CaptainCallisto · 28/04/2022 13:43

I'm feeling good about things today. Back in my routine, so finding it easier to keep on track. I put 2.5lbs on during the hospital stay (which was less than I was expecting!) but I'm hoping that will come off as quickly as it went on!

Well done on yourl 5lbs!

Harrysmummy246 · 28/04/2022 21:31

I forgot to weigh myself this morning. But was definitely dehydrated so would have been an overly good number. Hoping to stay under 81 tomorrow but closer to 80.0 than 81 :/

I've been absolutely spot on with food/ calories today, will be strength training tomorrow then running over the weekend around visitors and taking DS to yet another birthday party (and the school disco tonight as well).

Still find it hard to eat the sort of recommended amounts of protein mind you

MooPointCowsOpinion · 29/04/2022 07:09

Morning!
2lbs down so far this week, hoping it’s not a fluke…! Total is 3lb down in nearly 4 weeks. This is slow going.
This week I have worked out less but walked more, I think big work outs make me snack more perhaps? I’ve also not eaten exercise calories at all. Seems to have had a difference.
On low protein days or high exercise days I usually have a protein smoothie, but didn’t have time to make any this week, I’m wondering if that’s made a difference too. Maybe I’m not meant to eat a lot of protein, who knows?!
Next week I’m going to do low exercise but bring back the protein shakes and see what happens then.
well done for keeping going! You’re keeping me motivated!

Harrysmummy246 · 29/04/2022 13:09

Stunned. Weight this morning was 79.2. No idea how the flip I managed it. Which is over 4kg from where I started beginning of march. I think it will bob back up a little but it's going in the right direciton.

Wowcherarestalkingme · 29/04/2022 22:03

Well done in the losses so far! It’s motivating me to keep going

CaptainCallisto · 30/04/2022 09:36

Goodness, well done! I'm 3lbs down in total, which is not where I wanted to be, but is at least going in the right direction very slowly.

Harrysmummy246 · 30/04/2022 11:50

Back up to 79.9 today but we had a takeaway curry last night with poppadums etc

Just done the 5km run on my programme 😖Not pleasant.

Harrysmummy246 · 01/05/2022 16:09

Goodness me, 79.6 today. I may be firmly into the sub 80 club which was the first goal. POssibly as I spent half of yesterday feeling sh**y with a migraine so was asleep and not eating?

Not counted today as we had friends for lunch then took DS to a party where the mum very kindly made sure parents had snacks too. Dinner will be salad and some sort of protein bits (actually leftovers from the lunch but what i'd have anyway). Back on it tomorrow in terms of counting as I'm actually getting somewhere.

Hope everyone else is feeling ok

Wowcherarestalkingme · 01/05/2022 22:52

That’s brilliant well done. I love going into the next weight bracket, it’s such a boost. I’ve been a bit up and down this last couple of days. Seem to do really well until 8pm then I just start snacking. Maintaining but not losing so I need to find something else to do in the evening

CaptainCallisto · 02/05/2022 16:44

Did my measurements today. I've lost half in inch off my waist, and an inch off my hips. That's actually more encouraging than the scales going down. We're going on a little UK city break during half-term, so my current goal is for my jeans to be comfy enough to sit in the car for a few hours!

Wowcherarestalkingme · 02/05/2022 18:21

My whole body aches this evening. Moved about a tonne of soil into a new flowerbed and I think I’ve used muscles I didn’t know I had. Now to stay away from the snack cupboard this evening!

Harrysmummy246 · 02/05/2022 19:28

Well done @CaptainCallisto
Inches lost is just as good a measure of progress

That's basically my job Wowcher, as a gardener. It really does make a surprising difference to activity levels

Wowcherarestalkingme · 02/05/2022 22:22

You’re right, it’s funny how more active you feel after being active. Nothing is more tiring than sitting in a chair all day watching tv

Gufo · 03/05/2022 08:48

I'm 4lb down - another 4lb to go until I reach my first goal. Really happy but also annoyed with myself that I let myself get to this stage. I spent lockdown sitting and eating rather than becoming my best self Grin.

MooPointCowsOpinion · 03/05/2022 18:51

Awesome achievements well done!
im still here, still counting calories and being very careful, dropping the heavy exercise last week seemed to stop my weight fluctuating so much. I drank a little bit over the weekend, but it hasn’t changed my weight.. phew!

This week i will try to add in more water.

MooPointCowsOpinion · 03/05/2022 18:52

@Gufo ”I spent lockdown sitting and eating rather than becoming my best self”
totally get what you mean there I did too!! but don’t beat yourself up about it, maybe it was what you needed at the time to get through the weirdest life event ever!

That's last and done now so look forward.
Lockdown really messed up life and health, physical and mental for millions if not billions globally. What are you going to do today?

Hello? Anyone still reading?

CaptainCallisto · 09/05/2022 17:39

I am, though I've not so much fallen off the wagon as driven it off a cliff and set fire to it! Trying to get back to it today...
