Starting tomorrow, I need to lose roughly three stone, and generally sort myself out.

I am a mess 😀

@LndnGrl good idea for a weekly goal
My goal this week is no crisps or biscuits !!
Crisps and cards are my downfall. Basically a crisp sandwich is a heavenly thing.

I will also drink more water and less booze.

bella1426 · 03/04/2022 16:25

Sorry if I missed this but are we doing a weekly weigh in day or anything like that?

Wowcherarestalkingme · 03/04/2022 16:27

My aim this week is to swap Pepsi max with water. I seem to crave sugary foods when I drink fizzy drinks and I never drink enough water

sausagesandchamp · 03/04/2022 16:58

Hello! I am so in for this. 😊

Marcipex · 03/04/2022 17:17

@MooPointCowsOpinion thanks, I will see if I can get it online.
Totally depressed by peoples starting weight being my target weight.

MooPointCowsOpinion · 03/04/2022 17:22

@Marcipex oh same. If I can get to 14 stone I’ll be ecstatic! And a size 12 I expect! We all carry weight differently with different heights too. I’m super muscley and broad, now covered in fat too, I’m always going to be heavier than someone willowy. But Louisa is the best Encanto character so… swings and roundabouts!

frostedfruit · 03/04/2022 18:14

OK I've prepped for his week by today cooking pasta and rice then putting in the fridge. Michael Mosely said this halves the bad carbs. I'm cutting the buttery jammycrumpets and gonna try cutting down on sugar in my tea as 10 cups gets on for 15 teaspoons a day just in tea! That could be a crumpet instead is my thinking

OstrichFeathers · 03/04/2022 18:30

Oh ffs...I cleaned the car earlier and found a packet of 3 creme eggs that I'd hidden from myself. There's a reason I hide things Sad and now I feel sick.

LunaLoveFood · 03/04/2022 19:00

Can I join too please? Have 2 stone to lose and a posh wedding to go to in July so really need to start somewhere.

LndnGrl · 03/04/2022 19:04

🤣 Did you eat all three?
Happymama24 · 03/04/2022 19:40

@lunalovefood oh no! I know the feeling well!
How is everyone getting on with dinner.
I'm struggling to drink enough water. Just so busy I forget

Thistimealoserisagoodthing · 03/04/2022 19:46

I have had a conversation with my dh tonight about exercise and my weight. He does a lot of running and is a healthy weight . I used to run 5k 3 times a week and loved it but I am so embarrassed now about my size and don't want anyone to see me.
We have a really busy week ahead but this week is food and next week I am going to tackle the exercise (with his help) I know I feel better if I do it so why don't I just bloody do it ?

God I feel depressed about it all !!

LunaLoveFood · 03/04/2022 20:54

I'm OK with dinner, I struggle with snacking after the school run in the afternoon. Between half 3 and half 4 I'm starving, it doesn't matter what I've eaten for lunch I'm always snacky then.

Harrysmummy246 · 03/04/2022 20:58

@MooPointCowsOpinion

When I went carb free I lost a bit but it just came back on as soon as I ate carbs again, I can’t do a whole life without carbs, but I can replace half with extra protein and fats I think? Protein smoothies are really nice! I did the 5:2 before my wedding and it worked really well. Also did the fast 800 for a month, also worked, but I was SO grumpy!! Feel like I need someone to just be in charge, like a personal trainer, but who has the money for that!!
Not exactly a personal trainer, but JOrdan Syatt is pretty awesome on Instagram/ podcast. He runs something called the innercircle which is like a club for training and, by the sounds of it, has a very very strong, inclusive FB group. (I haven't joined as I can't convince myself I'm worth the money). He's based in the states so people having 100s of LBs to lose seems fairly standard.

He doesn't say cut out carbs or ridiculous low calories- just deficit and slow loss to be sustainable. He is very pragmatic and tries to be evidence based. It won't ever be the fastest shifting of fat but that's not what he is aiming for.

not an ad just someone who thinks he seems to actually talk some sense....

Harrysmummy246 · 03/04/2022 21:04
@MooPointCowsOpinion I could try it; I can’t eat mango or strawberries but I can eat bananas.
Would you mind telling me what brand you buy?
I was looking in Tesco last week but I was totally confused by the choice.
I liked the idea of protein bars but they all seem to have laxatives in them. So that was an unfortunate experiment.
Which bars did you find that actually had laxatives ? Meaning sweeteners that tend to do that?

Eat natural ones definitely don't- the peanut and chocolate ones are LOVELY

I've been logging food approximately on my fitness pal for 30 days somehow already and trying to just be sensible, so if I have some cake, fine, but I have to be really careful the rest of the day. Less wine. Slightly smaller portions but I have a young child so cutting out food groups isn't a great message to him nor does he need a hangry mother.
Running 3x a week and just working back into adding lifting again

Harrysmummy246 · 03/04/2022 21:06

@moggerhanger

Starting weight 77.1kg - not good for me as I'm a classic apple shape, with slender legs. My strategy is going to be to avoid unnecessary snacks, drink more water, chocolate and crisps once a week only, and replace carbs with veg at mealtimes. (I love veg so that's no hardship.) Let's see if it works.
@moggerhanger That's my current goal weight but I'm fairly tall and tend to carry that ok.

Started at 83.4 and now hovering around 81.5 after a slip up earlier in the week.

Thistimealoserisagoodthing · 03/04/2022 21:12

@LunaLoveFood me too!
I always cook from scratch and main meals are mostly healthy but I snack far too much. Mostly out of boredom or stress I think.

Marcipex · 03/04/2022 21:14

@Harrysmummy246 yes, I mean the sweeteners. Maltitol I think…pity because they are delicious.

BangingOn · 03/04/2022 21:16

Can I join please? All of these posts resonate with me so much. I lost over 2 stone last year by cutting out sugar and omega 6, but my burning desire to self sabotage has won and I’ve put a stone of it back on. I need to lose at least 3 stone in total.

I’m still exhausted from COVID and stress eating carbs since I was promoted into an awful role that’s making me miserable. I am determined to get back to running 3 times a week and to start by cutting out sugary cut.

Marcipex · 03/04/2022 21:18

Thanks, I’ll try the Eat Natural ones.

bella1426 · 03/04/2022 21:49

Hi all how did your Sunday go? Mine was ok, managed a long run this morning and as always was pretty hungry all day from it but managed to stay sugar free. Went over my calories but think I definitely need to allow for more on running days. Snacked on some extra popcorn, fruit and sliced ham so not too bad. Sundays are hard ones as we're usually out and it can involve cafes, lunch in kid friendly places, family dropping by with sweet treats etc so I managed to swerve a lot of temptation today. A bit headachey, tired and irritable as I usually am in the first few days of sugar withdrawal but it's the only way. A seemingly innocuous Sunday chocolate treat is a pretty quick and slippery road to spooning half a jar Nutella into my mouth at 3am in my dressing gown...I cannot moderate chocolate at all ☹️

LittleZombie · 03/04/2022 21:56

Today went well for me. I know it's only one day but it's a start, so thanks for starting this thread OP.

Losingtwostone · 04/04/2022 07:36

Morning all! How'd yesterday go? Managed to stay on the bandwagon here, must resist weighing every day and getting disheartened. IF till 10, light lunch (love bread but have bought some thins), have a few Jane plan left over so one of those for tea. Yoga tonight. Happy Monday all! X

Wowcherarestalkingme · 04/04/2022 08:18

Morning, I did really well until 8pm and then found some chocolate which sent me over my calories. Ergh!! But today we are off to soft play, and I’m going to sort my cupboards out to keep me busy. Oh and the exercise bike is coming out. Exercise keeps me on track much more. Hope everyone has a good day

LndnGrl · 04/04/2022 08:45

I hit 10k steps on the cross trainer yesterday. I broke a stone bracket this morning, 189.9 💪 so just have to stay there now. I've done my bootcamp class today, already. I only put 1 sweetener in my tea this morning but I really really want a couple of biscuits with it 😫 I'll hurry up and finish it 🤣
