Starting tomorrow, I need to lose roughly three stone, and generally sort myself out.

I am a mess 😀

God you're good, the only exercise I do is gardening. I really need to step up the exercise, it's proven to work in the past.
You might find it comes off in a few days if you've been active

Losingtwostone · 18/04/2022 09:44

Morning all! How are we doing? Managed to stay away from the chocolate so far... but have parents round for meal later so MUST BE STRONG!!! Smile Finally dropped a couple more pounds and can see a waist slowly emerging... now just need to shift it off thighs and behind!

Harrysmummy246 · 18/04/2022 12:41

A tiny bit of choc yesterday but otherwise doing pretty well. Don't want to run today but no chance of getting it all done this week if I don't.

Cazalet · 18/04/2022 13:11

Doing well here, I’ve lost 9 lbs so far, hoping to lose a stone by the end of the month. I am pretty good at resisting all the carbs my slim teens put away, I cook it but don’t eat it. Eating a lot of roast veg traybakes. Tummy still very fat, annoyed with myself for gaining so much over the past 2 years.

mossflower · 18/04/2022 16:25

Room for a not-so-little-one to join? I know a lot of people gained some weight during lockdown but I've gained it since going back to work as I've kept up the endless cups of tea with a biscuit habit but dropped the going for walks and runs habit as that time is now taken up with commuting or taxiing the kids again. I'm a stone heavier than I was last summer and the good weather this weekend has made me realise that nothing fits.
Currently 11st5 and want to get down to 10st5 which is the very top of a healthy BMI for me. To be honest, I'd settle for 10st 7. In my dreams, I'd love to get to 9st10 but I haven't been below 10st for 20 years.
I'm also horribly unfit and inflexible so am hoping that a healthier diet with some exercise will improve all aspects of that.
45, peri-menopausal, have PCOS, a sweet tooth, am an emotional eater with a fairly busy job, demanding DC and no will power. I do, however, have a fridge full of veggies.
Want to be below 11st by the end of May.

Wowcherarestalkingme · 18/04/2022 17:01

That’s brilliant @Cazalet! Well done you.

I’m the same @mossflower, I lost three stone in the first lockdown. Put it all back on in the last six months. But I’m on a good streak so far. Just mowed the lawn and been building a patio in the garden this weekend so been very active. Back to work tomorrow and I’ve already got my lunch sorted. Just need to avoid the 4pm snacking that is my downfall.

Version4needsabitofwork · 19/04/2022 14:08

@wowcherarestalkingme - three stone! Amazing! How did you do that? I gained two. And a bit. Confused

How's everyone doing after Easter? I found it really tough going. I went to visit my mother and she's a chapionship feeder... two different home made cakes, a trifle, chocolates and chocolate biscuits after every meal... AND a pile of eggs. We came away from the weekend with nearly a kilo of chocolate in the car. It's obscene.

Weirdly, seeing that much chocolate has really put me off eating it and so far, apart from the occasional mini egg profered by one of the kids, I've resisted.

I did drink the wine and eat the roast dinner. Aghhhhgghhhh....

I'm not getting on the scales until tomorrow, but i'm dreading it. Anyone else?

MooPointCowsOpinion · 19/04/2022 17:10

@Version4needsabitofwork I’ve been avoiding the scales too this weekend. Will weight tomorrow morning and then daily from now on!

Breakfast: scrambled egg on toast
Lunch: salad with no dressing but a sprinkling of grated cheese
Dinner: Katsu curry with pineapple rice

I’ve done 7000 steps so far and had 48 active minutes according to my Fitbit, that will be the running around at work! Still want to do a strength challenge from FitOn app (it’s free if you want to try it, there’s some good workouts!) and I need to walk the dog yet…. Tired though!

Harrysmummy246 · 19/04/2022 18:01

I've actually been getting on the scale in the morning again. At work today and too bloody busy to eat. Just making dinner (fishfingers, chips, beans) then I'm tutoring tonight and waiting for my RHS exam results to be released :-/

Wowcherarestalkingme · 19/04/2022 19:18

@Version4needsabitofwork I mainly followed slimming world but started doing an aerobic dvd three or four times a week. I don’t enjoy exercise but it’s a bit of a mental thing for me, if I’ve worked that hard I’m less likely to overeat and spoil it.
Weighed in this morning and lost 2lbs over the last four days which I’m chuffed about. Long way to go but finally seeing the scales moving in the right direction is motivating me

Version4needsabitofwork · 20/04/2022 09:39

Well done @Wowcherarestalkingme and @Harrysmummy246 and @MooPointCowsOpinion and @Cazalet and anyone else still following this thread! I'm really grateful to have people to talk to, to be honest! I hate talking about my weight to anyone IRL, it seems so repetitive (and boring), so it's good to have buddies in the same boat. Welcome @mos

Version4needsabitofwork · 20/04/2022 09:44

Welcome @mossflower is what I was trying to type there, before Mumsnet glitched on me! I remember being 11stone 5 and being utterly HORRIFIED! I'd love to be 11stone 5 now. In fact, I'm going to make it my new goal (thank you for the motivation by the way). It's great that you're sorting your shit out now, please don't lose heart. Remember even if the scales don't shift, you're in a good place because they're not going up... positive thinking is key. Never, never think, "well I'm fat already so fuck it" then eat the cake. That way madness lies.

I finally got on the scales and I'm 12stone 12 (and a bit). I'm torn between thinking yay, I've lost 10 lbs well done me! And, oh no, I'm still fat. This is always a tricky hump to get over I find. The key is to have a bit of a word with yourself and then keep going.

Good luck today all. We can absoloutely do this, and we will x

Wowcherarestalkingme · 20/04/2022 14:29

10lbs wow! Well done!

Harrysmummy246 · 20/04/2022 19:40

Not too much to report for me weight wise- it's staying the same at 80.9kg

But I passed all my exams. So may have had 2 glasses of wine :)

Wowcherarestalkingme · 20/04/2022 20:36

Congratulations @Harrysmummy246 😀

Harrysmummy246 · 21/04/2022 08:25

Thank you.

Now I just need to get up the nerve to ask for a pay rise

80.5 this morning so hopefully back to starting with 7 soon. Planning to run after work tonight as I'm not tutoring on a Thursday evening any more

Gufo · 22/04/2022 12:21

I've fallen off the thread and the wagon with nothing but piggery. I have recharged my fitbit and done a couple of yoga sessions this week so will start again (tomorrow)!

Harrysmummy246 · 22/04/2022 13:53

I'm doing ok with food. Just everything at home is going to sh** and I cannot seem to bloody win

Wowcherarestalkingme · 22/04/2022 20:57

4lbs down here so far. Been building a trampoline for the last two days so that has kept me away from the snack cupboard

Harrysmummy246 · 23/04/2022 09:05

Messed up on snacks a bit yesterday and then made the error of opening a bag of fudge so I grazed on that. But I'd not grazed for weeks and today is a new day etcetc. Another strength session last night and running again today.
80.2 today. It'll probably bounce back up but it's tantalisingly close to 70s

frostedfruits · 23/04/2022 13:36

My weight hasn't budged since I began. Feeling despondent but I'm in it for the long haul so plodding on. My scales are the old rubbish mechanical ones and the weight changes depending on where on the floor it is placed. Can anyone recommend me a decent budget set of electric ones?
I've realised going to my mums is a big danger area - she bakes so much!!

Harrysmummy246 · 23/04/2022 17:44

I'm guessing Argos or whatever is in your closest supermarket will be an improvement

Wowcherarestalkingme · 24/04/2022 17:58

my Youngest has a sickness bug. Nothing puts you off eating more than being thrown up on

MooPointCowsOpinion · 25/04/2022 17:03

Happy Monday!!
i lost 1lb last week, bringing my overall total to… 1lb… ffs.
im cutting calories by 100 a day this week and counting literally everything, tonight I’m having a carb free dinner just so I can stay under the total. Feel very motivated to keep going, my favourite work trousers are feeling tight and I definitely do not want to buy a bigger size…!!

I keep treating each week like an experiment, what can I change this week that might help, and that is keeping me going. I’m telling myself I might have lost more but my stupid period just arrived and that always makes me bloat up and adds a couple of pounds so many by the weekend when that’s over and I’ve been good all week I’ll see the scales move a bit… I hope anyway!

i did another leg day at the gym on Saturday and I’m still sore today, walked a couple of miles yesterday and gave myself permission to do nothing but work and toddle in the garden today.

Harrysmummy246 · 25/04/2022 19:29

I'm really fed up today. I'm going great with training but I just cannot hit eating right despite keeping it relatively simple and the same kg comes off, goes on, comes off, goes on. At least it's a couple of kilos lower than where I was.
