Here is the new thread for tomorrow.

I am taking my starting weight as the weight as yesterday's weight, 9st1.75, same as beginning of February. Its been a bit of a tricky month for various reasons, so hoping to do a bit better in March.

Thanks @QueenMabby, I wouldn't say I'm officially in the maintenance phase, but I'm maintaining the weight I am rather than managing to lose cause I cannot get my head in gear. TBH I'm a stone heavier than I was 10 years ago, I know there are a few of us on here who are in the peri phase. If I really pushed myself to lose another half stone to a stone, I would struggle to stay at that weight.

I probably eat a similar amount most days, but tbh dont really eat tht healthily for a few reasons. I find that getting my steps in and drinking water helps.

I find maintenance really hard, I either lose or most of the time gain
It's difficult to not expect the same from our bodies as they are constantly changing with age, lifestyle etc. I'm still relatively young but my metabolism definitely isn't what it once was!
One thing I used to struggle with was eating the same amount as my partner. New phase, new partner, different issue. He can and does eat anything and everything and is still as thin as a rake. The amount of sweets he puts away is crazy. Does anyone else have similar?

QueenMabby · 25/03/2022 19:37

@CharlieBubbles88 - my DH! Can eat enormous amounts! Still a similar weight to when we met 20yrs or so ago. My ds is the same. Massively high metabolism. Eats for England. It's v v irritating.

I've finished the day at 1547 calories. This did include a pizza (homemade - no mozzarella but still 500+ cal!) and a glass of wine so I'm calling that a win.

Tomorrow will be trickier as I'm going to a friend's house and we will probably snack but it's only one day and it'll be worth it.

CharlieBubbles88 · 26/03/2022 06:38

It's so annoying isn't it?!
2lb down this week

QueenMabby · 26/03/2022 07:30

Ooo well done @CharlieBubbles88 - fabulous loss!!

Octopus37 · 26/03/2022 07:50

My DS can eat for England and get away with it, but he is only 14, nearly 15. Well done @CharlieBubbles88. 9st2.75 so a pound up this morning. Meeting my Sister in Birmingham today, Will probably eat quite a bit but also walk as well so we'll see.

QueenMabby · 26/03/2022 08:52

Have a fun day @Octopus37. Is Birmingham a good day out?

swallowedAfly · 26/03/2022 14:09

Hi everyone. Good discussions. Can empathise with the peri/age related change in metabolism. Such a pain.

I'm up today but I've already forgotten what the scales said this morning so can't say by how much.

Just over a week till I go away - have just been trying on swimming costumes and dresses and trying not to be mean to myself whilst doing so. Think I'll spend as much time in dresses as possible as they hide a multitude of sins. Doesn't help being so pale!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 26/03/2022 16:20

Just popping in to say hello, I still have covid and still feel awful. It is properly kicking my ass, even with three jabs.

Hope everyone is getting some sunshine this weekend!

QueenMabby · 26/03/2022 19:39

@Judystilldreamsofhorses - so sorry you're feeling rough. It's a horrible illness. I only had it mildly last month but still not fully "right": occasional breathlessness and odd variances in taste/smell.

@swallowedAfly - I love dresses in warm weather - so easy to wear! Remind me where you're off to? Am v envious. DS has GCSEs this year so no holidays for us until the summer!

1799 calories today. Still under maintenance but not by much! Knowing my luck this one slightly more indulgent day will cause me to put on several pounds this week!!

I'm definitely getting stronger and more flexible. I'm trying to focus on that. Ate more than usual yesterday, terrible sweet cravings and had just a tiny bit too much to drink. Even an extra half glass and I feel it the next day since cutting down but can only be a good thing.
Off to pick up some garden furniture off of my mum and her partner 90 minutes away today. They hate my other half and it will be the first time they see him in the over two years we've been together. Might explain the off day yesterday? Anxiety central over here! Going to get my yoga done and get a walk in now before we leave

Octopus37 · 27/03/2022 11:54

That sounds tricky @CharlieBubbles88, difficult family dynamics can be so stressful. Good plan re the yoga.

@Judystilldreamsofhorses, sorry to hear you're still feeling so rough, Covid is gruesome.

No weigh in today, ate in Birmingham and then last night, although couldn't finish all my meal. Off for a meal for Mother's Day later. Dont think I'll weigh for a few days.

swallowedAfly · 27/03/2022 13:32

Off to Egypt QueenM - been trying to get away repeatedly throughout covid only for it to be put on the red list or rules change on re-entering the country or prices be prohibitive because of the amount of testing from private companies required etc. Have had flights booked and hopes up twice in the last year or so then cancelled twice but it looks like it's going to happen. Stressed by preparations but I know sunshine and the sea and easy on the eye views are going to be wonderful and worth it.

Completely forgot to weigh today.

I don't think I've done too bad on cals lately but also really not very active and coming towards the end of my cycle so no clue what they may say tomorrow.

Not sure what a holiday will do to the scales - I will swim everyday and be outdoors and more active generally which is good but not sure how eating will go - we'll be eating out throughout stay and there'll be much catching up with good friends so definitely alcohol heavy. Hopefully the activity will offset and the heat will mean low appetite. Shan't stress.

Octopus37 · 27/03/2022 13:54

Meant to say Happy Mother's Day to everyone.

@swallowedAfly how long till your holiday?

DirtOnThePlough · 27/03/2022 14:12

I'm truly fed up today as none of my summer trousers fit. One pair would if they sat in the right place not halfway to my boobs. Would a seamstress be able to alter them? I like things to sit just below my navel so that they don't cut into my bloated stomach. I seem to be particularly bloated today and have been having lots of endometriosis pain so probably not the best day to try on trousers.

I've lost my way with intermittent fasting as keep forgetting to eat at regular times. I realise it's bedtime and I forgot to eat dinner 🙄

Hope everyone is having a lovely day

@Allaboutthebooks you are so right, whilst living with all males can drive you mad, it can also be refreshing when it comes to food.

Decided to brave the scales this morning, 9st3.5, aiming to walk more this week with the lighter nights.

QueenMabby · 28/03/2022 08:53

I had a weird day yesterday. V calorific lunch cooked by dh but didn't really eat much else and finished the day under 1300 which is very low for me.

Took dd to an event at school where there were nibbles and wine and had nothing!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 28/03/2022 23:18

Hello, just sticking my covid-y head round the door - we’re almost into April! I’m back at work but thankfully at home, and thankfully Easter holidays on Friday. Hope everyone has a good week.

Octopus37 · 29/03/2022 07:54

Hope you are on the mend @Judystilldreamsofhorses.

I didn't weigh yesterday. Did slightly better with food and my steps were good, 19,353 so quite pleased with that.

OP posts:
QueenMabby · 29/03/2022 08:37

19.5k is a brilliant amount of steps @Octopus37 - I count mine good if they're over 10k!

Glad you're still hanging in there @Judystilldreamsofhorses - sending 💐

swallowedAfly · 29/03/2022 09:33

Morning. 11:5.8 here. Bmi 25.1. Almost healthy zone lol.

Leaving on Monday octopus.

QueenMabby · 29/03/2022 11:33

Whoop whoop @swallowedAfly - so close! You'll be there by Monday I'm sure.
