1lb a week …

BrambleRoses · 17/01/2022 19:56

So … anyone want to join me?

1lb a week. So no pressure. There may be some weeks we don’t lose but then we may lose 2 the next week. Achievable.

I’ve just gone through my phone and if I lose 1lb a week, every week … I’ll be 9 stone by 24 October!

I’ve failed in the past because I have been too rigid and then broken it. So this time I’m deliberately going for slow.

Start weight - 12 stone.

@Minnie123456, well done ! You are on track. Slow n steady winning the race. ( though I've decided a pound a week is still a challenge!). Regarding the expectation next week, just keep trying and you never know. It's sometimes not as bad as you think.
I was doing great, had a slump ( life really does get in the way), but March is a slow month for me ( nothing happening), so I'm going to keep trying!

Lemonweightloss · 28/02/2022 10:16

@Minnie123456, do you weigh Mondays then ? Do you mean the weekend was not so good ? If so, you can still pull it back.

EducatingArti · 28/02/2022 11:15

Forgot to weigh myself yesterday ( currently I have Covid) but, I did it today. I have lost 0.8 lb! Not much, but at least it is a loss!

Lemonweightloss · 28/02/2022 11:45

@EducatingArti, course it is. A step in the right direction. It's hard when you're ill. I like to think I ate chicken soup for 5 days. But I didn't !
Hope you're not too wiped out with the vid.

Minnie123456 · 28/02/2022 23:21

@Lemonweightloss I weigh on a Saturday or Sunday but there seems to be a delay in my weight loss/gain. If I have a "good" week the weight doesn't seem to come off until the week after instead of the week that i've eaten well if that makes sense. The same happens if ive had a rubbish week, so thats why im expecting a gain this weekend as last week wasnt very good.

I've fallen off the wagon completely and struggling to get back on ☹

Lemonweightloss · 01/03/2022 08:59

@Minnie123456, morning, yes, that makes sense. I think it takes time for your body to adjust. My poor body doesn't know if it's coming or going. I'm either behaving and eating really well or drinking too much / eating junk.
I'm struggling too. I'm just going to keep trying. I'm looking forward to some nicer weather as this rain and cold just depresses me !
I need to go to zumba but slept so badly. 😩

navigatingcrumbs · 01/03/2022 20:40

@Minnie123456 I had 3 chocolate chip shell cakes, an iced cupcake and 6 mini rolls plus pancakes for dinner. The wagon rolled over me today, but I had a good day before. So let's balance it Wink

Lemonweightloss · 05/03/2022 12:14

Morning all ! @BrambleRoses @thesunwillout @Ifihadapoundd @Minnie123456@teaandtoastwithmarmite

How are we all doing?
So, I've been trying for just under 6 weeks and have lost 4lb. I'm ok with that. I did lose a lot one week but then went away for a mad weekend so obviously some came back on.
I'm going to try a bit harder in March. It helps that I've nothing on socially.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 05/03/2022 12:17

Morning! I was doing great. Lost a few pounds. And going to the gym then last weekend was DD and DH birthday and I have put a few pounds back on and feel so lethargic Sad

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 05/03/2022 12:18

Well done @Lemonweightloss on the 4lb

Ifihadapoundd · 05/03/2022 12:29

Morning all. I have an officially 11st. So have only lost three pounds since the start. I have upped my hours at work so hopefully that will stop me snacking endlessly, and I'm making sure I eat probably at breakfast which seems to be helping. The sun coming out every now and then has helped with motivation for the summer as well.

Minnie123456 · 05/03/2022 18:25

@navigatingcrumbs mini rolls are so addictive.

Well done @Lemonweightloss. Another rubbish week, when AF is due I could actually eat 24/7. Weigh in tomorrow, not looking forward to it.

Lemonweightloss · 06/03/2022 09:44

@Minnie123456, how have you done?

Lemonweightloss · 06/03/2022 09:50

@Ifihadapoundd, well done on 3lb. It's better off than on. And you've got a plan going forward. I do sometimes think we expect too much, then when it doesn't happen, we give up. But best to keep going forward.
I didn't want to join a club again but my dsis is getting married in May and it really works for her. She can't do it on her own whereas I can. Sort of. Anyway we've got 6 weeks to lose as much as we can ( hen do), so the club will keep me motivated. Not that I stay to meetings. All that clapping drives me mad 🤣

cdba88 · 06/03/2022 09:57

Do you mind if I join?
I've been going since 1st Feb. My goal was a lb a week for 16 weeks.

Aiming for 1500 cals a day. So far lost 4lb. Using the the nutri check app which I love to track my calories.

I'm slightly worried as I start my next hospital placement soon and the super long shifts make it difficult to keep at it. Plus there's always chocolates and biscuits that people bring as gifts lying around. Hoping I'll be ok!!!

EducatingArti · 06/03/2022 10:16

So, this week I have actually lost 1.8lbs!!

EducatingArti · 06/03/2022 10:36

This is where I need to be careful as my usual pattern is to lose a couple of pounds and then relax and put it all back on again!

Lemonweightloss · 06/03/2022 10:46

@EducatingArti, well done. You're on track. Keep going ! I try to remember this happy feeling - it keeps me on track !
@cdba88, hi 👋 and welcome! Well done on the 4lbs. You're on track.
Regarding the snacks at work, can you take your own - calorie counted etc. Then you can have some treats but you're not wrecking your diet. I know what you mean though. I work in a medical centre and it fascinates me how much junk people bring in. As everyone seems to be trying to lose weight, I wonder why they don't bring in fruit to snack on. I mean nicer, more exotic fruit ! I was going to suggest this, but I don't really know them well enough!
I'm quite lucky as I'm not a snacker nor do I have a sweet tooth. But I do take in low calorie crisps and those skinny whip bars for emergencies. I also take in lots of flavoured sparkling water. Then if I've achieved naff all at work, at least I've had 2 litres of water !!

Minnie123456 · 06/03/2022 11:02

Well done everyone.

I've stayed the same, happy with that as I was expecting a gain.

Lemonweightloss · 06/03/2022 11:05

@Minnie123456, that's good.
Weird how it works sometimes. You expect a gain and stay same or lose, and vice versa !
Shows how important it is to keep going really.

spagbog5 · 06/03/2022 11:07

I properly started two weeks ago and have lost 3lb so far so happy with that !
Well done everyone

EducatingArti · 06/03/2022 11:17

@Lemonweightloss Thank you for the encouragement! I do think posting here is helping to keep me accountable!

Lemonweightloss · 06/03/2022 11:25

@spagbog5, yay 👏. That's good going.
Definitely can keep one accountable on here. The other morning I mentioned I might go to zumba. Next thing I ran upstairs, brushed my teeth and ran out the door !!!

Ifihadapoundd · 06/03/2022 12:18

@EducatingArti this is me all over! But when I gain I feel ten times worse than I did before. Then I will comfort eat because i have already gained so what's the point. It's so hard.
Well done to everyone:) we can do this!

EducatingArti · 06/03/2022 13:22

We can!
