1lb a week …

BrambleRoses · 17/01/2022 19:56

So … anyone want to join me?

1lb a week. So no pressure. There may be some weeks we don’t lose but then we may lose 2 the next week. Achievable.

I’ve just gone through my phone and if I lose 1lb a week, every week … I’ll be 9 stone by 24 October!

I’ve failed in the past because I have been too rigid and then broken it. So this time I’m deliberately going for slow.

Start weight - 12 stone.

Well done to those who lost this week!
I'm only 0.4lbs down this week, going to make some changes. Switch Zumba to the mornings as I tend to be able to work harder then. As I really want to hit that pound a week. I also had a takeaway yesterday, which won't have helped things! But DH and I are only allowing ourselves two takeaways a month right now as we need to drastically cut back!

February 6th: 212.8lbs

Here's to a better week! Good luck everyone

Dizzywizz · 07/02/2022 09:14

Well done to everyone who’s lost this week! I’ve put on 0.6lb but I am putting that down to major sugar cravings with my period arriving, so hoping can get that off +1lb for next week. I might weigh daily to keep more of an eye on it

QuelleSuprise · 07/02/2022 10:44

Well done to those who have lost weight, and well done for sticking to the plan and still being here!

How are you doing @BrambleRoses

It is my weigh day tomorrow.

Lemonweightloss · 07/02/2022 12:05

Yep, well done to you all. Even if you put a little on, it doesn't matter s'long as you're still trying. It's when you abandon it completely, the trouble starts. As we all know !
I'm weighing tomorrow too. I was an angel all week til yesterday and today I'm hungover so I'm eating rubbish!!
Oh well, tomorrow is a new day. I really want a pound a week off too.

EducatingArti · 07/02/2022 13:02

I'd really love to join in with this as I need some accountability. I was 166 lb yesterday.

Lemonweightloss · 07/02/2022 13:13

@EducatingArti, welcome and hi 👋.
Will you start today ? How much do you want to lose?

EducatingArti · 07/02/2022 14:45

Thank you for the welcome Lemon!
For the first stage I'd like to get down to 140lbs which is 10 stone. I'm only 5 ft 1" so even that makes me overweight I think but I'll get to 140lb then decide on the next target. Also realised that there's a typo in my previous post. I'm 156 lbs now!

That's the fastest weight loss I've ever had! 10lb in a couple of hours!Grin

Ifihadapoundd · 07/02/2022 15:57

Am I too late to join?

I'm 11.1. I have a family wedding in the middle of April so hoping to be around the 10st mark by then. I have been trying since last summer and seem to be able to shift a lb or two a week then gain it all back over the weekend 🤦‍♀️

Lemonweightloss · 07/02/2022 16:33

@EducatingArti🤣🤣.
So, 16lb in the first instance. You can do it ! Then, like you say, evaluate and set a new target. I do think a few small changes is the best way forward. I'd say this week I've had 5 great days and 2 bad ones. I'll have to see tomorrow if I've lost a pound. I was ridiculously happy last week on losing a pound.
@Ifihadapoundd, hi 👋. You're not too late. Most of us are only just starting week 2, so all good. 11lb in about 10 weeks, is that right? That's achievable.
I know what you mean about the weekend . But like I said above, if I've lost a pound tomorrow after a bad weekend, I'll be so happy. If not, I'm going to have to rethink my weekends.

Ifihadapoundd · 07/02/2022 16:59

It's so hard, durning the week I'm doing the school run which is getting my stepson but at the weekend I just seem to sit. It's having the motivation to get my ass into gear.

Minnie123456 · 07/02/2022 23:33

Thank you @Lemonweightloss and @QuelleSuprise.
I need to tackle my snacking in the evenings, as soon as I get in from work i'm "starving" and head straight for the snacks. I've tried eating fruit instead but it doesn't give me the same satisfaction that chocolate or biscuits does

Lemonweightloss · 08/02/2022 08:14

@Minnie123456, how soon after you get home do you have your tea ? Could you have a coffee instead of the biscuits? I wonder if you're starving if you're not eating enough at lunchtime. I know that feeling though - it's not easy. I'm not a fruit lover either. If anything it makes me hungry.
@Ifihadapoundd, do you have anyone you could walk with ? I meet my dsis and we walk to a supermarket, look round then walk home with our shopping. It's good exercise, we have a laugh and we get the shopping done ! Weekends can feel long I think. If I'm not drinking, I have to keep busy. House is usually spotless !

Lemonweightloss · 08/02/2022 12:04

Oops. Put a pound on. Am going in the wrong direction. Still, I know where I'm going wrong and I'm still motivated. For the next 7 days, I'm going to be stricter with my calories and not drink at the weekend. A week today, I should see a decent weight loss. On a positive I've walked to zumba, walked home and shortly, I'll be walking to work and back. So plenty of exercise. Soup for lunch and fish for tea. 😇

SnowyMouse · 08/02/2022 13:53

Here's my weekly weigh in:

CW: 12 stone 6
12 stone 4 april
11 stone 11 july
10 stone 17 october
GW: 9 stone 10 14 nov

SnowyMouse · 08/02/2022 15:18

So I've lost 1.75 lbs!

Lemonweightloss · 08/02/2022 17:12

@SnowyMouse, doing well ! 👏
You can do it !

emsmum79 · 08/02/2022 19:28

I've lost 3lbs in the past 2 weeks! I'm delighted but there's a long way to go.

SnowyMouse · 08/02/2022 19:47

Thanks @Lemonweightloss !

Well done @emsmum79 , you can do it!

Lemonweightloss · 08/02/2022 20:05

@emsmum79, that's great. Well done , you're on the right track.
Try not to think too far ahead. I'm definitely taking it one day at a time!

BelladiMamma · 10/02/2022 09:02

Lost 2lbs again! The same ones I put back on a couple of weeks ago, let's see if they stay off this time! 😃

Fernando072020 · 10/02/2022 12:12

Well done to those who have lost this week! Can I ask some advice please? For those losing, what are you doing differently? What does your calorie intake / food intake and exercise look like?

I'm feeling a bit frustrated and trying to work out where I'm going wrong, maybe I'm not doing enough moving, maybe I'm eating too many calories. I'm seeing the scale go up right now so trying to get back on it before it keeps going up as I so want to lose this pound a week.
I've got a lot to lose so really it should be coming off easier right now.

I'm 5'1, 212.6 lbs at last weigh in (although scales have been saying 213.6 again the last few days!).
I am still breastfeeding but not a lot, and it varies so I don't know how much difference that makes at the moment.
I eat around 1800-1900 Cals a day (rarely eat chocolate, biscuits as I've been cutting them and not buying them anymore, never eat crisps, don't drink alcohol, takeaways are twice a month - I'm guessing it's my portion sizes as I can have too much - I love spag bol, lasagne, etc so eat too much and need to learn to reduce this) I average 8,000 steps a day, Zumba 3 times a week for 30 minutes. I'd really appreciate some insight. Should I reduce cals or focus more on upping movement / exercise? How do you all stop going for that second portion of dinner or your treats?

Thanks everyone for any help!

Lemonweightloss · 10/02/2022 12:22

@BelladiMamma, well done ! Keep going !
@Fernando072020, hi there. I'm rushing atm as I've got to go to work but I've just read your post and it seems like you're doing everything OK, but I think it may be your portion sizes. I'm unsure about the breastfeeding etc as I've never been there ( I'm sure someone will have some advice shortly !).
When I've lost weight before, it's because I was counting calories strictly. In fact that's what I'm doing this week as last week I put a pound on. When I looked at what I'd eaten/ drank, I wasn't surprised. This week I am hungry til I eat if that makes sense.
You'll get there.

Lemonweightloss · 12/02/2022 09:26

Morning all, how are we all doing ?
I'm doing well. I've got Tuesday weigh in at the back of my mind so it's keeping me on track. I haven't drank wine, I've eaten properly and I've exercised.
Saturdays can be a day of indulgence but thankfully, it's so cold out I think we'll be staying in. Never thought I'd be pleased it's cold !

peboh · 12/02/2022 09:27

Hello!
Can I join? I've lost a stone since the end of December, however I've just lost the plot this month and all motivation has gone! So would be great to join a support thread like this ❤️

Lemonweightloss · 12/02/2022 10:02

@peboh, welcome and hi 👋.
Well done on losing your stone. You know you can do it, so that's a positive. I think when you're on it, you're on it ! Sounds obvious I know but when I'm in the right frame of mind, I can do it.
How much do you want to lose and by when ?
