1lb a week …

BrambleRoses · 17/01/2022 19:56

So … anyone want to join me?

1lb a week. So no pressure. There may be some weeks we don’t lose but then we may lose 2 the next week. Achievable.

I’ve just gone through my phone and if I lose 1lb a week, every week … I’ll be 9 stone by 24 October!

I’ve failed in the past because I have been too rigid and then broken it. So this time I’m deliberately going for slow.

Start weight - 12 stone.

Morning! I fell off the thread.

Weighing in on Friday. I was out at the weekend and yesterday and was immoderate with eating and drinking so I am having to scale back the next 2 days.

Mine is baby weight too- but my youngest baby is aged 10! (Years... ) I had shocking PND after he was born and basically comfort ate and binged. I am nearly 50 and want to be sorted out by then emotionally as well.

Lemonweightloss · 26/01/2022 12:05

@ButWhereDidTheWindComeFrom, at least you're reigning it in now. I think that's the thing sometimes. We do need to go out and enjoy ourselves ( my dsis is a martyr to slimming world. She says it herself ! ), but s'long as you get back on track, you should be OK. Better than falling off it completely.
Sorry to hear about your PND. Losing weight is good for us mentally I think. More energy, better self esteem, just feeling comfortable in your own skin. I no longer want to lose weight solely for vanity reasons ( I do with regards to clothes I suppose), but it's mainly about how I feel.

QuelleSuprise · 26/01/2022 12:54

Is there a set weigh day for this thread?

GreenWhiteViolet · 26/01/2022 13:36

Thank you @Lemonweightloss and I'm glad you enjoyed the chicken! You're right that it's probably best to look at it in smaller blocks.

My problem is that I'm very good at calorie restriction when I put my mind to it. I diet, and if the weight loss isn't quick enough, I cut down further, below BMR, because I'm impatient, and it's quick but not very healthy. And then when the diet ends, some of the weight usually goes back on. (This time is different because it's mostly stress-induced lockdown weight from last year, but that's my usual pattern.)

1lb a week is more sustainable in that it doesn't mean intense calorie restriction or never having a bit of cake or glass of wine. It'll be easier to go from there to a 'maintaining' eating pattern when the time comes. I'm still counting calories but the number can be higher. I don't do proper keto but I do cut back on carbs because they're the easiest thing for me to overeat.

I went back to the gym for the first time since March 2020. I was very worried about it because I'm much larger than I was before, and very deconditioned, but I'm glad I went. It wasn't as bad or embarrassing as I imagined, and I can build back up to what I was doing before.

Tulips21 · 26/01/2022 13:50

Hello,
Can I join please?

I'm 15st 5.
The heaviest I've ever been and feel just awful about myself.
For me exercise is key, I've a 17mile coastal walk charity event in march and so far (yesterday!!) have done 1 x 6 mile walk!!

I would love to be 11 stone so a lot to lose!!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 26/01/2022 13:59

Can I join too. My best friend is getting married in December and I would love to lose the 2st 9lbs I've gained since just before lockdown. Currently 12st 9lbs and ultimate target is 10st but last time I got there was hard to maintain it so will see how I go!

My worst thing is snacking and sweet food. I've joined slimming world as need that real life disappointment and knowing im paying I will stick to it. I cheat myself doing calorie counting, I would have chocolate rather than a proper dinner as they were the same calories!

Dizzywizz · 26/01/2022 14:52

I know what you mean @nocutsnobuttsnococonuts - today I managed to trip and throw the tarka Dahl down myself just before eating it 🤣 so I ate 2 packs of skips as they’re about the same calories, right??

Lemonweightloss · 26/01/2022 18:25

@GreenWhiteViolet, well done for going back to the gym. I enjoy the gym. I do zumba and dance classes - it's such a laugh. You never regret going to the gym. @QuelleSuprise, I suppose we'll all have different days. I'm doing it on a Tuesday before the gym. When will you ?

QuelleSuprise · 26/01/2022 18:34

@Lemonweightloss my weigh day will be Wednesday.

QuelleSuprise · 26/01/2022 18:34

Sorry Tuesday 😀

rubytubeytubes · 26/01/2022 20:19

I’m also weighing in on fridays. Struggling with the urge to snack in the evenings this week!
I have stopped alcohol for a while as it’s a real trigger for bad eating/ more snacks and I do feel better for it.

BrambleRoses · 26/01/2022 20:20

Shall we do a tally of the weeks weight loss on Mondays for everybody?

OP posts:
Lemonweightloss · 26/01/2022 20:33

@BrambleRoses, yes, I think that would be ok. It's a bit difficult isn't it with everyone weighing on different days but we'll all get on an even keel eventually!

Dizzywizz · 26/01/2022 21:56

That suits me, as my weigh in day is Mondays! (To try and prevent blow out weekends!) we’re going out for dinner on Saturday night, but I’m going to chose sensibly. Plus the restaurant has a bit of a dance floor, so perhaps I’ll jiggle a bit off!

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 26/01/2022 23:07

@BrambleRoses I weigh every day so that's cool with me Smile
Wanted to say today I went for a fast walk on my lunch instead of lounging on the sofa reading my kindle Grin

I love the sound of that restaurant Grin
helloyoutoo8 · 27/01/2022 16:18

Does anyone have any quick snack ideas?

QuelleSuprise · 28/01/2022 09:03

Morning all, can we rename this thread to gain 1lb per week. I scoffed a whole packet of chocolate hob nobs last night. I told my self I would only have two, then four then thought fuck it, I will scoff the whole packet.

Sorry all😀

ButWhereDidTheWindComeFrom · 28/01/2022 10:11

Morning. I am weighing in on Monday. It has everything nothing to do with the fact I gained a pound @QuelleSuprise Grin

Will check in on Monday. :)

Bimblybomeyelash · 28/01/2022 10:30

So I weighed in this morning and I actually am down one pound! Now I need to focus on not having my usual weekend binge!

ButWhereDidTheWindComeFrom · 28/01/2022 11:24

Well done @Bimblybomeyelash !!
Lemonweightloss · 28/01/2022 12:15

@QuelleSuprise, awh, don't apologise! Just get back on it. Maybe don't buy them anymore !! I don't know if you havea Heron foods near you but they sell packets of biscuits individually wrapped.
The sort you get for packed lunches. I quite like them. @Bimblybomeyelash, well done !! Keep going ! I'm weighing tues but I am away weekend. Saturday I know I'll eat n drink to.my heart's content, but I've been an angel all week 😇😇

BelladiMamma · 28/01/2022 14:07

Definitely the day for me to have a weigh in as I'm back in my favourite jeans and tried a skirt in yesterday that I haven't worn for ages and it fit - very snug fit - but fit nonetheless

I think I'm still about a stone off my target weight. I don't think I've been my target weight for about a year or so. Let's see. It's a compromise target weight as I've given up being anything like I was pre kids

rubytubeytubes · 28/01/2022 14:18

1/2 pound off on my weigh in this week!
Hoping for a pound next week or this is going to take me years!

Nutrigrainygoodness · 28/01/2022 14:22

Can I join please? I'm really bad at these things. I start off with all the good intentions and then I see cake and it all goes out the window.
15th Jan I was 16st2lbs
Today I am 15st 9lbs
I want to be 14st by the 1st June, so I need to lose a little over 1lb a week. But to get somewhere close to that would be amazing.
I've joined the gym, so I did some gyming and swimming this morning- then had a greggs for lunch 😬 I'll weigh again on Monday. 😀
