1lb a week …

BrambleRoses · 17/01/2022 19:56

So … anyone want to join me?

1lb a week. So no pressure. There may be some weeks we don’t lose but then we may lose 2 the next week. Achievable.

I’ve just gone through my phone and if I lose 1lb a week, every week … I’ll be 9 stone by 24 October!

I’ve failed in the past because I have been too rigid and then broken it. So this time I’m deliberately going for slow.

Start weight - 12 stone.

@Lemonweightloss more than I was expecting. I knew things were getting bad as I found myself puffing and panting just putting my socks on.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 25/01/2022 08:55

Thanks @BrambleRoses I'm really hoping this group will motivate me Smile

HoliHormonalTigerlilly · 25/01/2022 08:57

Can I join you please?
3 stone to loose.

I have been doing dry jan & going to the gym 3 x a week, which is frankly painful. And not lost one bloody pound!

Going to have to look at cutting food calories next.

Sorry am a bit grumpy about it. Can you tell? Hmm

QuelleSuprise · 25/01/2022 10:08

Hello @HoliHormonalTigerlilly, I would be really grumpy too. That's a lot of effort to put in with zero reward.

I too have 3 stone to lose.

Good luck

Mamazita · 25/01/2022 10:20

Can I join too please. I'm 16 stone and want to be 12 stone. I'm tall, so this is an ideal weight for me. I'm doing intermittent fasting and working out each morning for 30 mins. Good luck ladies, we've got this

HoliHormonalTigerlilly · 25/01/2022 11:36

@QuelleSuprise

Hello *@HoliHormonalTigerlilly*, I would be really grumpy too. That's a lot of effort to put in with zero reward.

I too have 3 stone to lose.

Good luck

Thanks! I think it's related to peri menopause 🙄.
RollneckJumper · 25/01/2022 11:40

Ooh, count me in please.
I was 10 stone 6.5 pounds.
Weighed myself yesterday morning and I'm down to 9 stone 13.5 pounds. I've lost half a stone!!
I would love to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight of 9 stone.
13.5 pounds to go!

QuelleSuprise · 25/01/2022 11:45

@HoliHormonalTigerlilly ooh, I've got the peri menopause too 😄

Please may I join you? I'm in that "final bit's the hardest" stage. Sigh. I'm currently 9st 6lb, and want to be 8st 12lb again, but I'd settle for 9st 0lb. I think my problem is that I look slim, and technically I wouldn't need to lose weight, but the reality is that I've had a baby, and I've eaten way too much junk, so although I'm not overweight, I've gained weight in an unhealthy way, so need to sort it out! I need to stop the "energy eating" where I eat cake all day to make up for being up in the night with the baby. Also my clothes are feeling snug, and I'd rather not buy new if I can just get my cake eating under control.

I need new activity ideas though, because i already walk for 2-3 hours a day with the buggy, and I rely on baking as an activity to do with the kids! Maybe I need to look for healthier baking ideas than brownies...!

Lemonweightloss · 25/01/2022 12:27

@QuelleSuprise, peri menopause here too ( I think. I'm 55, a few symptoms, nothing too much but losing weight definitely harder).
Went to gym. Weighed self. 13st 4 as predicted.
Yep, we can do it. The best thing is to just keep trying and not give up altogether after a disappointment.

helloyoutoo8 · 25/01/2022 12:36

Can I join please? I need to shift baby weight desperately.
I've started cutting out chocolate/snacks (and I ate a lot of it during the day!) and running 2x a week. I've lost 2lb in roughly 2weeks already.
My starting weight was 13 stone 9. Hoping to lose at least 2 stone.

AcceptCookies · 25/01/2022 12:46

@helloyoutoo8 another baby weight loser! How old is your LO? Mine is not really a baby, and more kind of a toddler now... but I'm still using the excuse! Mine still wakes at least twice a night to breastfeed though, and I'm EXHAUSTED and just tend to eat sweet stuff to boost my energy through the day.

Well done on your good start. 2lb in 2 weeks looks like a sustainable start. Good luck!

Lemonweightloss · 25/01/2022 13:05

@helloyoutoo8, hi 👋..Well done on your loss so far. I wish I could run. I can Zumba with the best of em. But running no can do.

FolornLawn · 25/01/2022 13:44

Hello, can I join in please? I have more to lose than most of you I think, 5 stones, eek.

At 1lb a week that's 70 weeks! Shock Good grief, that's a long time.

I'm not sure whether I feel hopeful or daunted. Grin

QuelleSuprise · 25/01/2022 13:55

@FolornLawn looking at it another way, if you lost 2lbs per week, that would take it down to 35 weeks. 😃

FolornLawn · 25/01/2022 14:36

Steady on now, Quelle, let's not go mad.

Thank you! Yes exactly the same. I was in the habit of just a quick fix and eating biscuits /choc bars. I'm slowly learning that healthy snacks are just as easy really. I'm Eating a lot of rice crackers /hummus etc.
I've 2 kids , a 3yr and 6 month old. When I was pregnant I kept saying when I've given birth I can't wait to lose weight. I just thought what exactly am I waiting for?
I'm always so annoyed when summer comes and feel frumpy, so I just think do it sooner than later.
I can't run well, but appreciate the time away from kids and fresh air. Even if it's just a 15 min run at the moment!
Good luck too. Any ideas what you want to change to lose weight - eating /exercise? X

To be honest I can't run fast, I just run slow and cover the most distance I can. That seems to give me satisfaction at moment. See.. I can't do Zumba! I'd Get really embarrassed!
Good luck to you. x

Dizzywizz · 25/01/2022 22:04

Can I join in please? I’m 12.13.7stone and desperately need to lose weight - I want to get to at least 10stone. I can’t exercise a lot - I have ms and can’t really walk far, but I did 20 mins of a you tube floor work out video today plus walked the dog for 10 mins. 1lb a week will hopefully be possible!

SchoolWillBeUpShitCreek · 25/01/2022 22:17

I'd like to join in too , please. I'm currently about 15.7. Would like to be 11.7, but would steel for 12. I'll update with accurate weight at the weekend, I don't have any scales, have to do it when I've done my fortnightly night shift. It's going to just be food changes for me, I truly have no time to exercise (walking is impossible for me, swimming/gym/classes also out of the question unfortunately )

GreenWhiteViolet · 25/01/2022 22:20

What a good idea! I've lost 7lb since January 1st but of course a good bit of that was the initial whoosh of water weight. I now need to try for something more sustainable as I have 25lb more to go and it does feel daunting.

Stade197 · 26/01/2022 05:03
@Stade197, that's good timing ! You can do it. Do you have an outfit in mind ? I love to visualise!
I don't have a specific outfit in mind, I would just like to feel nice in any outfit at the moment 😫 I think I might have to dig some old jeans or a dress out as a goal as maybe that will push me

Lemonweightloss · 26/01/2022 09:09

@GreenWhiteViolet, you're doing great. Don't look at it as 25lb though. Take it in maybe 7lb blocks. I also think it's important to enjoy losing weight. I know that goes against the grain for most people because going ' on a diet ' has negative connotations. But recently I've tried to change my mindset and list all the benefits. I'm also taking it really slowly ( hence why I like this approach). When you say you want something more sustainable, what are you thinking? I do a mix of slimming world and calorie counting but I hover between the 2, that's why I haven't really lost. I haven't put on but I haven't lost !!
My appetite has changed since Lockdown too. I need to think of something else. Keto I love on paper. But it theory makes me feel sick and not enjoy meals and I don't want that. Sick of shopping, cooking and all of it !!
What is everybody else doing? Calorie counting is quite effective.

Lemonweightloss · 26/01/2022 09:11

Meant to add, yesterday I had a bowl of chicken broth and it was the nicest thing I've had in a long time. 😋
