Thought I would start the new thread a day early, cannot believe this thread has been going for two years. I joined on 2nd Jan 2020. I'm going to put today's weight in 9st1.25, so a gain of three pounds in December. Aiming to get back to where I was by the end of January and in the longer term a few more pounds.

I've just about managed to get upstairs and brush my teeth before eating yet another cookie and really throwing caution to the wind. Close call. I'm waiting for af and feel knackered so always want to eat to get my energy up.

Scales are up a bit and I confess I got off again without remembering what they said other than they were up. I did some evening snacking last night and one other night recently. Must avoid regaining that habit.

Octopus37 · 20/01/2022 07:28

@Allaboutthebooks, sorry to hear that. Hope you stay negative and that you're kids aren't too unwell. @CharlieBubbles88 thats a great loss>

@booksandballet welcome. I didn't weigh this morning. I'm not getting enough steps at the moment which is making everything harder. Also have my Dad down for 10 days, need to do better with water today.

I weighed in at 145lb this morning. I feel a bit disappointed. Since November I've increased my trapeze training from once to twice a week, sometimes even three times, but it's just not showing on the scales! I'm definitely feeling much stronger and better in myself, and a couple of people have asked me if I've lost weight, so maybe I've gained muscle? Either that or my snacking habit has more of an effect than I thought!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 21/01/2022 16:33

Back to 10/7 for me today and yesterday. Mumsnet is so glitchy on my phone at the moment I didn’t post yesterday, anyone else? It’s as if the ads freeze it.

NutellaEllaElla · 21/01/2022 16:39

Hi all, happy Friday. I weighed in at 1lb down this morning which i'll take given the time of the month and my snaccident last weekend.

QueenMabby · 22/01/2022 08:46

Hello. Just found this thread. Can I join?

I really need to lose some weight. Not a lot - a few pounds but I’m really struggling.

I’m 5’ 7” and currently weigh 9st 11.8lb. First goal is 9st 7lb (was that in Oct last year but then got covid and it all went to pot!). Would like to be 9st 4lb eventually.

So not a lot to lose and I know I can do it as I spent a few of the previous years at between 8st 10lb and 9 stone. Was not exercising or anything then though so was diet thin and not very healthy (for me) if that makes sense.

I’ve since started at the gym and I lift weights so am much more muscular now so reckon 9st 4 would be a good weight.

I’ve got into so many bad habits (too sedentary, too much evening snacking etc) and I need to get my head in gear. This seems like a lovely thread to help me do that!

Octopus37 · 22/01/2022 08:50

Ate too much and not enough exercise yesterday, no weigh in this morning. Went out for a meal with my Dad. He is being difficult today tbh, healthy eating is on the back burner. My bestie is coming round later, she has known my Dad since we were kids, we will nip out for a drink. He's just so manipulative. In short he wanted me to send an email to my Uncle telling him that he had upset him. I've said that I dont think it will do any good, it isn't the right thing, my uncle is 86 FFS and my Dad has kicked up the whole shit storm himself. He then made it very clear that he wasn't alright because of me and I just went to bed cause I couldn't handle it. New day and all that but waiting for him to appear. Sorry for brain dump.

Welcome @QueenMabby, sounds as if you are doing well with the gym

Welcome @QueenMabby.
I'm trying to think more in terms of goal body than goal weight recently. To help psychologically with fluctuations. I don't know if that's going to be better.

QueenMabby · 22/01/2022 10:28

Thank you for the welcome. @Octopus37. Sorry you’re caught between your DF and Uncle. Sounds like a tricky situation. I hope today is easier.

@NutellaEllaElla - I totally get where you’re coming from on the goal body front. I am likely to be similar once I start shifting some weight - I just want to feel good in my clothes really - many are rather snug at the moment! Historically I’ve generally had a weight range that I sit in and I will again once I feel comfortable.

I’m off for a walk/therapy session/put the world to rights with my BFF this morning. It will include a swing by a cafe for a takeaway coffee - a weekly treat!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 22/01/2022 12:32

Oh octopus that sounds rubbish. Families can be so tricky.

10/7 here (shock!) but I am fine with that really. Off to get my hair done this afternoon and hoping my hairdresser has brought his dog in today. 🐕

@Allaboutthebooks sorry to hear that you've tested positive. Good that you're prepared. Totally get you about hating diets, I'm the same, I can only ever keep my weight down by eating a bit less of what I want. Know what you mean about exercise as well, since I've had my kids (they are now 14 and 11), I've always walked a lot, but just recently its got a bit harder cause I'm working from home more and its so cold.

Thank you for the welcome @Allaboutthebooks. So sorry you’ve tested positive. Hope you only have a mild dose.

NutellaEllaElla · 22/01/2022 22:09

I did so well until dessert today then had several fuck it moments unfortunately.

Octopus37 · 23/01/2022 08:20

I did't weigh again today, had a Chinese yesterday, but did a bit better with my steps. Happy Sunday all

LBB2020 · 23/01/2022 08:55

Morning all, I’ve not posted for a couple of days as life has been a bit hectic (again!). Weighed yesterday and am still 10st9.5lbs which I’m happy with as I’ve not eaten well at all this week. Sorry to hear of more positive Covid tests and family stresses. Hope you all have a good Sunday x

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 23/01/2022 11:30

10/7 this morning, and sitting on 66,000 steps for the week so will average out at over 10k per day.

swallowedAfly · 23/01/2022 16:21

Sorry for absence. Seem to have hit a real wall of tiredness lately (long history of CFS and related depression here and January is never my strong suit) so am just managing work and semi functional parenting.

Stuck around the 11:12 mark recently. Won't help that I've spent much of the weekend in bed working on laptop and have just ordered fish and chips for our dinner.

Need to turn it around and get losing again but feel like I can't just yet. Hopefully get there soon. Well done to everyone making progress or maintaining through this sucky month.

swallowedAfly · 23/01/2022 17:32

So I didn't have too many chips and managed to leave about half of the batter. We may end up with me losing more weight and the dog becoming clinically obese Blush
