Thought I would start the new thread a day early, cannot believe this thread has been going for two years. I joined on 2nd Jan 2020. I'm going to put today's weight in 9st1.25, so a gain of three pounds in December. Aiming to get back to where I was by the end of January and in the longer term a few more pounds.

Well done Nutella, and all, on what sounds fairly stressful situations. I had a starbar but otherwise did well. Teeth brushed and in bed Grin Will face the music /scales in the morning.

Octopus37 · 26/01/2022 07:35

Well done on your inch loss @booksandballet. @LBB2020 that sounds really stressful, hope you manage to sort out childcare soon. As I've said before, I'm in awe of you for even attempting to eat healthily with young children. 8st13.75 here this morning, reasonable steps and food as ever its never good with me, but not absolutely terrible.

Urgh. 9st 13lb this morning. 1.5lb on from last week. I just can't stop eating rubbish. I need to change this.
New day today though. 🤞🏻

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 26/01/2022 08:43

I hopped on and thankfully not at all bad. 9st 2. So that has spurred me on a little. Need to up the selfcare alongside it - skincare, decent sleep, fresh air etc. I know there aee plenty if us here with the stresses of young children, elderly parent care/concern etc. Kindness to ourselves so important including lovely, decent food. Water water water. Have a good day all.

LBB2020 · 26/01/2022 11:02

Thanks @Octopus37! We do have a childminder but she’s been off/closed with Covid and other illnesses as much as she’s been open since DS2 started with her in November! We’re considering moving him to a nursery as it’s so stressful and disruptive.
Well done @HeyGirlHeyBoy Smile you are right self care is so important

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 26/01/2022 11:32

I’m 10/8 today. I have been - sorry - really constipated so no surprise. I started taking spirulina and I think it’s that.

QueenMabby · 26/01/2022 12:29

@Judystilldreamsofhorses - I really recommend flaxseeds to - ah - aid digestive transit. Wink A teaspoon with breakfast every day definitely helps!

NutellaEllaElla · 26/01/2022 15:49

Hello hello hello. I'm downing glasses of squash, trying to avoid boredom snacking here. I'm also lusting after fiber gourmet pasta but it's far to expensive to justify with how often I eat pasta. Le sigh.

Octopus37 · 27/01/2022 07:22

No weigh in for me today,, awful steps and a bit too much food yesterday. Also taking my Dad out for a meal tonight. o well. Trying to make the best of things even though he's difficult.

QueenMabby · 27/01/2022 07:39

@Octopus37 Hope your day goes ok. It sounds like you're having quite a difficult time. Thanks

No weigh in for me either - I only weigh once a week anyway. Do others weigh in more?

I had quite a good day yesterday. No snacking and lots of steps. My meal portions are still pretty big though. I'm trying not to change everything at once though - as that way lies bad rebounds! Am focussing at the moment on increasing my general movement and decreasing snacking.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 27/01/2022 08:28

It is hard octopus, takes so much of your energy. Hope it goes well Flowers Did OK yesterday. Early bed backfired and I woke at 5.15 Hmm so now I feel hungover Brew Water!! Have a good day all.

NutellaEllaElla · 27/01/2022 09:11

I weigh once a week, I can't cope with the fluctuations otherwise!
A good day yesterday, last day of the work week for me. Water water water.

swallowedAfly · 27/01/2022 09:52

No weigh in here either. I hopped on the other day and was over 12st and really bothered by it. It wasn't first thing and I hadn't been to the loo and because I haven't gotten back on since I don't know if it's real gain or was just random and I'm avoiding finding out.

I'm being more active and drinking lots of water and trying to be careful and sort of hoping for the best. I am not a January fan nor a fan of covid - one of my classes yesterday only has 13 kids in because everyone else had tested positive. My school is struggling at the minute with crazy high numbers and no availability of supply staff but all of the performance management, and improvement plans, and sodding learning walks etc continue. So! lol fml.

I'm ok really. Day off today and meeting a friend for lunch in a pub - that'll help the weight situation Wink

LadyDanburysHat · 27/01/2022 09:56

Hi All, I've not posted this year yet as I have not returned to my diet yet. I seem to be doing okay at maintaining though. I am 11st 8 and was only half a pound less just before Christmas.

swallowedAfly · 27/01/2022 10:13

Well done LadyD that's great.

It's good to have a rest from it sometimes and apparently helps in terms of losing and maintaining over the long term.

NutellaEllaElla · 27/01/2022 10:55

Bloody hell I'd love to not gain pounds over Christmas, that's honestly admirable @LadyDanburysHat. Yes, there's a great YouTube video about the benefits of a diet break once in a while.

LadyDanburysHat · 27/01/2022 11:55

Thanks both, the not gaining over Christmas was due to me not feeling so great, and not stuffing myself as much as usual, although I feel I have mad up for that recently. I do think it might suddenly appear so need to get back into it.

QueenMabby · 27/01/2022 19:42

Evening all. Hope everyone's ok. @LadyDanburysHat - well done on not gaining over Christmas although a shame it was due to feeling poorly!

OK day here. Plenty of steps and no snacks. We're out for dinner tomorrow night and I'm going with my favourite maxim of "make the decision when it's easy to do so" and have looked up the menu and made my (relatively) healthy choices in advance as it's easier for me to do that at home than it is to make healthy choices when at the restaurant!

NutellaEllaElla · 27/01/2022 21:05

Damn that's a good rule @QueenMabby

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 27/01/2022 23:53

Late check in at 10/7 here. January is almost over, so everyone needs to pay themselves on the back for nearly making it.

Octopus37 · 28/01/2022 07:52

Thanks @QueenMabby and @HeyGirlHeyBoy, doing ok with my Dad. Its one of those situations where there's a lot of baggage.Takes a lot of energy to deal with and all the time I'm thinking that if I get it wrong, ie say too much or lose my shit, I'll regret it one day. He thinks he can say what he likes but basically tells me what I can and cannot say. I'm out with friends today so it will be a break. 9st1.5 this morning.
@swallowedAfly hope you are ok, sounds tough with all the staff shortgages.

OP posts:
QueenMabby · 28/01/2022 08:55

@NutellaEllaElla

Damn that's a good rule *@QueenMabby*
It is when I remember to use it!! Grin Applied it last night and made the decision to go to the gym this morning - laid kit out so I didn't have to make the decision this morning when I just wanted to stay in the warm!
NutellaEllaElla · 28/01/2022 09:13

@Octopus37 that sounds incredibly hard and I'm very sorry that it is happening to you. It's strange how merely being a parent makes us tolerate what we wouldn't from anyone else

The scales wavered but eventually relented and dropped 1lb today, only after a loo break which feels like cheating 🤔🙃
That means I'm within 2lbs off pre Christmas/ December fuck it month... Then I have 1 week until an all inclusive ski holiday where I presumably fuck it all up again.

Hangoverstruggles · 28/01/2022 16:52

Going out for big boozy burger bar night out tonight, so instead of sticking to my plan and eating really light all day I have literally stuffed myself with biscuits 😬 oops

So on plan all week too... shan't be weighing until at least Monday!

Happy Friday everyone. Hope you all have something to look forward to this weekend, especially you @Octopus37 you have a lot on your plate Daffodil
