Thought I would start the new thread a day early, cannot believe this thread has been going for two years. I joined on 2nd Jan 2020. I'm going to put today's weight in 9st1.25, so a gain of three pounds in December. Aiming to get back to where I was by the end of January and in the longer term a few more pounds.

@Wowwellokthen I've added you. I'm under AmberF. My Fitbit is currently dead and I need to charge it. I won't be up to normal activity levels until Tuesday.
I'm sick of seeing and eating chocolates now. In fact I'm going t

DirtonthePlough · 01/01/2022 19:24

To put them all in the treats jar right now.

Wowwellokthen · 01/01/2022 19:30

Dirtontheplough- accepted your request on Fitbit Grin

LBB2020 · 02/01/2022 09:43

Welcome to all the new joiners!
Not a bad day yesterday, lots of walking and food wasn’t crazy (room for improvement but easing myself in!).
We’re off for another walk shortly and then it’s time to finally straighten out the house after the Christmas chaos!

Octopus37 · 02/01/2022 10:56

Almost managed my steps yesterday and had quite lot of water. Food not so good. I will weigh tomorrow.

OP posts:
Judystilldreamsofhorses · 02/01/2022 12:34

I only managed about 7,000 steps yesterday as I wasn’t out, but did make a point of drinking a glass of water every time I put the kettle on. We are a tea heavy house! 10/7 today and should get my steps.

NutellaEllaElla · 02/01/2022 12:52

Water water water everyone.

I've been for a walk and have a huge pot of chicken soup on the hob.

LBB2020 · 02/01/2022 13:04

Thank you for the reminder, I am terrible at remembering to drink water!

swallowedAfly · 02/01/2022 13:12

I may have eaten all of ds's rejected celebrations last night - sadly he doesn't like the snickers or the galaxy caramels.

I have not weighed today!

Back to work on Wednesday so increase in steps coming up. I've spent a lot of time in my bed over the holidays.

chutneypig · 02/01/2022 13:23

Hello everyone - can I join as well please? Some accountability would do me the world of good.

I’ve managed to gain 10kg over the last year and would really likely to shift it. I weighed in at 71.8kg yesterday, although hoping some of that is bloat that will go soon. I’m aiming for lots of veg and gut friendly foods, with an eye on calorie restriction. I’d also like to get back to previous levels of fitness, last year I was fairly active but in a directionless way. That certainly didn’t help on the weight gain either.

DirtonthePlough · 02/01/2022 13:31

I really need new batteries as the scares are varying by over a kg within a minute.
Welcome new people!
I'm cutting down at the moment and will start properly in Thursday when ds goes back to school.

lagrangethetortoise · 02/01/2022 22:14

Weigh in this morning slightly worse than I was expecting, hopefully some bloat from the past couple of weeks.

68.8kg

Managed to fit an hours walk in and not had a terrible food day although not great either and did have a coffee and a tea, so failed on the caffeine front, I'm blaming the two day hangover

DirtonthePlough · 03/01/2022 09:13

The scares 🤣🤣 this bloody phone and its autocorrect! Although scares is quite accurate!
Hope everyone has a good day. I'm not weighing until I have new batteries.

Begonias · 03/01/2022 09:32

Can I join, please?

I'm 44 and peri-menopausal. I'm 5ft5 and used to weigh 132lbs before covid, currently 145lbs. The extra weight is making my arthritis worse and knees and ankles are not enjoying it.
I started doing 5 min squats, lunges, stretches throughout the day rather then a long 30 min exercise session. So far I've stuck to it, even if it's only day 3. I've also started 16/8 too and I'm logging calories too.
I've started competing with the kettle, whenever I make a cup of tea whilst waiting for the kettle to boil I try and do some squats. I try and increase the number of squats each time I boil the kettle 😂. I'm cutting out fizzy drinks completely and going for low sugar/carbs. I tend to cook from scratch but desserts are my weak point.

Wowwellokthen · 03/01/2022 09:37

Morning all,
Welcome Begonias...your stats and situation sound similar to mine.

Am going to walk to the "local" Tesco this morning. I live rurally so the walk is about 45 mins there and the same back...across fields. I will also be carrying what I buy back so that will stop me buying too much! And all wearing wellies! Confused

After that I will continue the battle to get my teen DS to do some revision for his gcse mocks that start on Thursday! Shock this will be even harder than normal as his Gf broke up with him last night and he is very sad.

What's everyone else up to?

Octopus37 · 03/01/2022 10:34

Welcome @Begonias. @NutellaEllaElla thanks for the water reminder. 9sst0.25 this morning, water good, food so so steps not enough.

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 03/01/2022 10:40

Morning everyone. Im here in body if not yet in mind Grin Water water, I can't seem to hit the target there. Steps good enough. Aim for no snacking after dinner this evening, teeth, skincare and water today. Easy does it. Haven't really done much with my fitbit premium yet.

LBB2020 · 03/01/2022 10:51

10st12lbs again today Sad
Yesterday steps were good but food not the best. We’re off to a local NT estate today for a walk so should do ok with steps. Trying to not snack after dinner or 7pm whichever comes first as that is definitely my downfall and will be sending DH off to work tomorrow with a few boxes of Christmas biscuits/chocolates to get the temptation out of the house! Must drink lots more water too!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/01/2022 11:27

10/8 here today - I did 14,000 steps yesterday but also ate a load of pistachio nuts. We’re not back to work until Thursday so I expect this week to be about damage limitation, then really try to do better next week.

DP is off out today but I have no plans to leave the house. Exercise DVD and a big bath for me.

@LBB2020 am I right in remembering you are my height (5ft 6?). If so then you are fine BMI-wise, so keep that in your head and don’t be too hard on yourself. Plenty of people would love just to be in the healthy BMI zone.

LBB2020 · 03/01/2022 11:40

Yes @Judystilldreamsofhorses we are the same height! I know you are completely right about being a healthy BMI. Before having the children I was always around 9st7lb then after DS1 I hovered around 9st10lbs which I was happy with. I turn 40 this year and would like to get down to at least 10st by then (summer birthday), I don’t feel comfortable at this weight so just want to start feeling better in my own skin again if that makes sense

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/01/2022 12:05

I totally understand @LBB2020 - my best weight is about 10/3-4ish, if I go below that I look gaunt. Face versus arse! It was more about not being hard on yourself - we are living in extraordinary times.

Hangoverstruggles · 03/01/2022 12:12

Hello! Remember me? Lovely to see you're all still here doing great @Octopus37 @HeyGirlHeyBoy @NutellaEllaElla Is HoneyBadger still on here?

I know I'm a cliche but I'm starting again 😁 Looking back through these threads I can see I haven't posted since June and have been really off track eating & drinking whatever I want. I actually think it was last Christmas that blew it for me and I didn't get back into the zone at all consistently.

So I'm back at 10st11 with a target of 10 stone. I'm not striving for the 9s as that just gets too hard to maintain.

Life out of lockdown has been a challenge so I'm going to have to be disciplined and plan, plan, plan. I'm also working 40 hours a week now, so family life has got even more hectic. Will need to not give in to bad habits and relying on sugar to get me through!

Goals are:

12-8
Filling lunch and dinner
No snacking!!
Not wasting cals on crap leaving me hungry!!
Water

Exercise helped last time but we were in lock down and had so much time... will see how it goes and not set myself up to fail on that one.

Hope everyone is well. So impressed you have kept posting. Well done.

Happy new year x

LBB2020 · 03/01/2022 12:30

We really are @Judystilldreamsofhorses, the past year especially I’ve found really tough and I’ve definitely used food as a comfort. Hopefully this year will see us get back to some sort of normal Smile

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 03/01/2022 12:53

Welcome back hangoverstruggles You're still on my phone auto text Grin Ibwas gone June-Oct also!

NutellaEllaElla · 03/01/2022 12:59

Welcome back Hangover. Coming out of lockdown has been a big struggle for me too, all the social eating. I've been MIA and in full fuck it mode in December and refuse to weigh myself until February. I just don't need that kind of negativity in my life Grin
