Thought I would start the new thread a day early, cannot believe this thread has been going for two years. I joined on 2nd Jan 2020. I'm going to put today's weight in 9st1.25, so a gain of three pounds in December. Aiming to get back to where I was by the end of January and in the longer term a few more pounds.

You’ve done so well @swallowedAfly, take some time out and be kind to yourself.
January has been really hard this year, I’m wishing away the weeks till spring and the lighter mornings/evenings and some nicer weather!

swallowedAfly · 23/01/2022 18:08

Thank you LBB Smile - normally I'd totally agree but I've got the nagging awareness that I will be on a beach in April. So I'm being kind to myself but aware of limited time and goals.

Octopus37 · 24/01/2022 07:35

Hope you are ok @swallowedAfly. As others have said, you have done so well. maintaining is hard in itself and you're doing that. Hopefully things will look a bit brighter in February. @Allaboutthebooks and @HeyGirlHeyBoy hope you are as okish as you can be covid wise.

I weighed this morning, 9st1.75 this morning, have eaten quite a bit over the weekend. Actually managed my steps though yesterday for the first time in ages. TBH everything's very much one day at a time at the moment.

Water reminder everyone.

I hope you are holding up ok @HeyGirlHeyBoy. Hang in there @swallowedAfly.

I feel like my restraint has gone slightly up the swannie at the moment. It might be because it's cold.

I saw this pic and thought of me and this thread. there's a very strong narrative from my mum about being bad in relation to food and i think it's a wider thing.

Hi all, weighed in on Saturday at 127.2lb/57.7kg. I'm really feeling the benefit from yoga and I'm only doing 20-30 minutes six times a week. Just checked and I averaged 21,000 steps a day last week so hopefully this week will be just as good!

I too am trying to focus on how I feel rather than the number on the scales however I do find I need something ‘measurable’ to help me stay accountable. I've also made the decision to reduce the number of hours overtime I do to focus more on things I enjoy and that make me happy.

Very outing but my main problem is I sleep eat. No matter how much I eat in the day, or at what times, it is very rare I go a night without doing it. While it is rather amusing (some strange and questionable things are consumed) it really does impact my hard work so it is very frustrating

NutellaEllaElla · 24/01/2022 12:39

Can you put locks on your cupboards? How frustrating!

CharlieBubbles88 · 24/01/2022 12:51

I have a fridge safe but I've been known to crack it Grin Plus I can't fit the entire contents of my fridge in it. If I can't find anything I start on the freezers, so I try and leave things out so I don't poison myself!

NutellaEllaElla · 24/01/2022 13:24

OMG you little sneaky snacker! Does sleep eating Charlie approve of carrot sticks though? Grin

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 24/01/2022 15:50

Hi guys, I'm here and yes, I was positive. No symptoms to speak of. Some tiredness but think that was mostly the drain of cabin fever. I'm on Day 7 now so almost out! Took the dc to a remote woods and it was great to get fresh air!! Food all over the place. Will weigh for sure this week. Probably back up to Oct weight Blush but will stay trying. Water water.

Oh gosh allaboutthebooks, that sounds horrible and with the dc sick also Sad Sorry to hear that. We just have to look after ourselves for now.

QueenMabby · 24/01/2022 17:07

Sorry to hear those with covid are feeling poorly. I had covid in October and the fatigue was unreal.

Ok day today. Have just accidentally eaten nearly 400 calories of cheese though. I mean - I didn’t eat it by accident, I put it in my mouth on purpose as a snack but it wasn’t until after I’d finished it (4 slices of Emmanthal) that I realised it was 98 calories a slice! 😳😳 Note to self - check nutritional info first.

What does everyone have for lunch? I’m not a sandwich person and definitely like something warm in winter but I don’t find soup very filling….

Late check in here, but not sure why I bother - 10/7!

Sorry to hear of everyone struggling with covid or otherwise. I agree that January is a pig, and it just feels relentless just now with all the news and all the uncertainty. I’m in Scotland and it feels like there is never going to be an end to restrictions - we’ve never had a break from masks or QR check-ins, for example.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 24/01/2022 22:12

@QueenMabby we eat eggs a lot at lunch - today was scrambled eggs on toast with ham, but we will often have poached with avocado, or even beans. If it’s just me I do actually tend to have soup, but both of us are WFH until at least February at the moment. I made a vat of lentil soup last week which was great, but usually it’s tinned stuff, because lazy.

Hangoverstruggles · 24/01/2022 22:48

Hi everyone, just checking in. Seems like everyone has a lot on their plate with sickness and life so well done for keeping with it. Hopefully those that want to will find their grove again soon(👋🏻)

I seem to follow 3 really well controlled days with 3 or 4 binge good days! Also struggling with energy levels and inactivity!

Saturday I had a night out so wine and food. Followed by big doorstop bacon sarnie for breakfast yesterday. 4lbs up this morning!!

Today:
Smoothie made with protein powder, milk, banana and frozen raspberries

2 rices cakes with peanut butter

Chicken with roasted harrissa veggies and some fruit mentos

I really hope those with covid, or with covid in the house feel better soon 😊

swallowedAfly · 25/01/2022 05:59

Scales dodging again here. I was snacky again last night. I think being cold and tired is a trigger for me.

swallowedAfly · 25/01/2022 06:01

Meant to say sorry for your house of illness allabout - it’s hard being ill with poorly children. Hope you all feel better soon.

Glad yours sounds mild heygirl but still rest lots.

And well done to everyone plodding onwards.

NutellaEllaElla · 25/01/2022 07:34

Yesterday was a proper fuck up snacks wise. I walked lots though. Here's to a much better day.

Octopus37 · 25/01/2022 07:36

@Allaboutthebooks sorry to hear you are feeling poorly, I had it in October and felt really rough for a few days. @HeyGirlHeyBoy glad you are out of isolation today. January is certainly a slog, but its Feb next week which is a nice short month. I did't weigh here today, yesterday was a so so day.

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 25/01/2022 08:32

I seem fine now but need to safeguard my sleep very much! Routine thrown completely with a week at home. I am ready now to make a better effort with my food. Aims today v basic : 2.5L water, 10pm bed and no snacking after evening meal!

booksandballet · 25/01/2022 11:32

I measured myself today and found that I've lost just over an inch from my waist, bust, and hips since 13th December. This is reassuring since the scales haven't changed that much! I'm managing not to snack and just having three proper meals a day. I have more energy for it, so I hope I can stick to it.

NutellaEllaElla · 25/01/2022 12:56

That's fantastic @booksandballet.

I'm already having a better day than yesterday, no time for snacking!

LBB2020 · 25/01/2022 16:26

January really is a slog! Work is really busy and we’re having an absolute nightmare with childcare for the baby, my stress levels are through the roof! I didn’t eat until 4:30pm yesterday but by then I was starving so ate all the wrong things Blush similar again today. Going to try to do an exercise video tonight with DH and start fresh tomorrow.
Hope all of those with Covid are doing ok

NutellaEllaElla · 25/01/2022 20:09

Yes, January is very long right now.

It's just one day but I stayed within my calorie target. Yay.
