Anyone else with 10st plus to lose?

HerRoyalHappiness · 28/12/2021 11:07

Im 30 and I weigh 19st 7lb.

Ideally I'd like to lose 10st. I'm obese and I hate it.
I started again dieting yesterday.

I can only manage 5000 steps a day due to being disabled, and I do those with a frame.

I'm hopeful that if I lose the weight there'll be less pressure on my already buggered joints.

Anyone else with a lot to lose would you like a daily check in thread with me?

Well done @Sunshineandrainbow

I'm having a weird week. My weight hasn't changed this week but I seem to be smaller now. I'm currently wearing a 36 back size bra - it is a bit stretchy, but when I started a 42 was tight so I'm amazed at the difference.

And I have a really fancy party to go to soon so I've bought a new dress. It's a size 18!

WeirdPookah · 25/08/2022 13:25

Hi, I'm new to this thread.

Quick backstory, I was over 300lbs, lost more than half my bodyweight about 12 years ago. Went up to 270 during post natal depression, back to 190 between babies, Two children and a whole lot of life later and I am back up to 270 and cannot continue like this.

I am a late diagnosed Autistic, I have a compressed nerve in my spine after my first baby weighing in over 9lb nipped it, my leg is completely numb in places and it hurts in my spine.

My youngest starts school shortly, so I am hoping it can give me some time to focus on myself. I was successful using SparkPeople, which closed in 2021 and I have put on 50lbs since then as I haven't found anything I liked using. MyNetDairy was the best of the things I tried, but it cannot replace years of work adding my own foods and recipes I had on Spark.

So yes, I want to lose about 100lbs (again).

Sunshineandrainbow · 25/08/2022 13:29

You have definitely lost inches then @DuckWithOneWing and a size 18 dress must feel amazing.

DuckWithOneWing · 26/08/2022 16:22

I've spent today taking selfies. I'm still not thin, but I don't think I look huge any more. I'm pleased with my progress so far.

Well done @Sunshineandrainbow and @DuckWithOneWing - hope you feel amazing in the new dress! Your selfie looks fab. Smile

Welcome @WeirdPookah Smile

I'm thankfully getting more active again after my injury. I'm trying to not overdo things as well in case I put my recovery back a bit so it's a weird balance right now. However I'm having a naughty weekend as DH is off work so we're treating ourselves to a rare meal out together tomorrow so need to try and keep the rest of the weekend as low cal/healthy as possible to try and minimise the damage. I'm actually hoping I'll feel fit enough to walk there and back as well which I hope will help a bit too. Fingers crossed for Monday for me. Smile

Sunshineandrainbow · 27/08/2022 09:43

@ShinyPikachu enjoy your meal and weekend. I am also out for a meal today and will be going for damage limitation.

You look fab @DuckWithOneWing you should be proud

What's everyone else's plans for the weekend?

DuckWithOneWing · 27/08/2022 20:09

I am so jealous @ShinyPikachu! I hurt my ankle in April (!!!!) and it's still not right. I really want to get more active, but I can walk for about 10 minutes without intense pain. I'm having physio but it isn't helping yet.

My weekend plans were to ride my motorbike, but that didn't go well for a variety of reasons so I'm now just sitting on the sofa resting my ankle. I suppose I'm now proving sayings like "you can't outrun your fork" because I'm losing weight with minimal exercise due to my injury.

ShinyPikachu · 29/08/2022 19:37

Oh no @DuckWithOneWing that's so long to have an injured ankle. Sad

Ended up with a gain this week. That walking was way too much for me and I ended up with my feet up all day yesterday in agony then a great big takeaway and more wine so the damage limitation didn't go well at all. We had a really lovely meal out though and had a lovely time together at least. It's probably the last time we'll get to go out together before Christmas so we really enjoyed ourselves. Grin

Sunshineandrainbow · 03/09/2022 09:21

So gutted to have put on two pounds.
I have stayed within my calorie count so not sure why. I will try and not let this turn into a binge now.

ShinyPikachu · 05/09/2022 08:53

You can do it @Sunshineandrainbow - it could just be a blip but don't let it ruin the coming week for you too.

I didn't count this week but lost 2.8lb for a new total of 3.1lb. I'm still struggling to walk but despite that I've gone out a few times and just taken breaks every 5 minutes. It's been pouring with rain the last couple of days though so I've been stuck inside since I wouldn't be able to sit on a bench and having a break every time I passed a cafe or pub wouldn't exactly help me. 😂

Sunshineandrainbow · 05/09/2022 10:35

Thankyou shiny I will keep going, I need to!
I have started a new baby crochet blanket so thst will keep. My fingers busy!

Well done on your loss that's amazing.
Have you tried the Leslie Sansone walking videos on your tube. I quite like them, I have been doing the 1 mile one which is 15 mins, you could pause it to have a break. See what you think it might just help on rainy days.
Have a great week.

Winterfellismyhome · 07/09/2022 18:14

Tentatively dipping my toe in here.

Im 30 and just weighed myself, 23 stone 12. Im embarrassed tbh and ready to do something about it. I have 2 kids that i need to be around for.

Ive just started my second Conqueror challenge (The Shire) and need to do a meal plan.

:)

Sunshineandrainbow · 08/09/2022 07:27

Morning winter, welcome to the thread.
Your challenge sounds interesting.
Have you thought anymore about your meal plan?

Winterfellismyhome · 08/09/2022 17:40

@Sunshineandrainbow thank you. Im not sure of the best approach to take really, any recommendations?

fidgetcube · 09/09/2022 14:20

Hi,

I was on this thread before but haven’t updated in months.

im now 155.6kg, so I’ve lost a total of 21 kg in 14 months. Which I’m happy with. Though I lost nearly 20kg in 6 months, then didn’t lose any weight from Jan to June, but on a wee bit then lost 5 kg in the last two months.

I’m autistic and adhd.

haven’t been to the gym for a week because I have an ear infection, which is always fun lol but I think I’m finally on the mend.

I track food everyday on lose it.

Having tried all plans I am now trying calorie counting. I use the app fat secret and I am really honest on it. I weigh on sat morning so I can relax slightly on a Saturday.

Sorry to hear about your ear that sucks.
It feels good to track all food I like the control.

Sunshineandrainbow · 10/09/2022 08:23

Starting weight 18.9
Today's weight 18.1

So please to have lost the small gain and more. Maybe that was just a blip.
Going to make some vege soup to take to work this week to keep me full.

How is everyone else?

DuckWithOneWing · 12/09/2022 13:02

Well done @Sunshineandrainbow ! You're doing great.

I'm really annoyed. I have a dress that's a size 22 that doesn't really fit - I can get it on and stand up but it's far too tight to sit down. Bit yesterday I was wearing a top that's a size 12/14! How does this make any sense?!

ShinyPikachu · 13/09/2022 10:21

Welcome @Winterfellismyhome

How is the blanket coming on @Sunshineandrainbow and well done!

The good news is I'm finally starting to recover, I live in an upstairs flat so exercise at home isn't always the easiest because of the noise. I do have a RingFit so once I'm better at standing I need to get that going again too. I'm a bridesmaid next summer so I'm really wanting to be down a good bit by then.

Welcome back @fidgetcube and well done so far! I hope the ear is better now.

Clothes sizes are ridiculous @DuckWithOneWing - even size guides if buying online I find weird as if I go by my measurements I'm actually going up about 3 sizes from what I usually wear and then things drown me.

I've just bought myself a new coat for going to the footy over the winter as it was on sale. The reviews all say it runs small, some saying one size and some saying they went up 2-3 sizes and struggled. I could only buy one which is 2 sizes up so I hope that'll be enough, if not then hopefully I lose enough weight by the winter that it's fine. I need to be able to layer with it as well or I'll just be wearing my fake oodie blanket to the stadium instead. Grin

Oh and I've lost 1.8lb this week for 4.9lb off in total. :)

Echoes89 · 13/09/2022 11:08

Haven't been on here in a while. Everything is going super slow at the moment. Need to cut down the calories a bit further I think as I very much plateaued. Really hoping to be in the 12 stone something range by the end of this week.
Don't think I've got much chance of getting down to 12st 7lbs by early October for the holiday, but gonna give it my best shot. Hope everyone is doing okay 🙂

SW - 17st 3lbs
CW - 13st 0lbs
GW - 10st 6lbs

Echoes89 · 15/09/2022 09:34

Finally feel like weights shifting again. Reduced my calories and didn't really drink this weekend. Think I was putting on a lb or 2 at the weekends then losing it again over the week, so I was just maintaining. Finally in the 12's 😁 would be amazing to drop another 5lbs and finally be out of the obese range, I reckon I was probably 16ish last time I was not considered obese 😳

SW - 17st 3lbs
CW - 12st 12lbs
GW - 10st 6lbs

ShinyPikachu · 15/09/2022 13:35

Well done @Echoes89

Bit of a NSV for me. I went for a walk. A proper walk, not just walking to the local shop for wine but a properly nice enjoying myself walk in a local park, and instead of taking the shortest possible route, I went the longest way around the outskirts instead. I did need to rest a few times and my ankle was a little sore when I got home but I'm definitely getting better. It's sore again today but I do need to go do some shopping so I'm just trying to build up the courage to walk into town. I could get a bus but it's a nice day and I want to enjoy the walk too.

Sunshineandrainbow · 16/09/2022 19:35

Good week had here, Friday evening always seems to cause and issue with wanting treats!
My blanket is coming along lovely and keeps me occupied.
Such good weight loses on here really spurs me on.

Sunshineandrainbow · 17/09/2022 11:39

Morning everyone
I can't believe it I am under 18 stone this morning!!! It was good to see the 17
Homemade soup for lunch this week must have suited me so will do that again this week. I also had lots of Stirfry for dinner with a few sweet pot pakoras and found this filling.
How is everyone else doing, any nice plans for the weekend?
