Anyone else with 10st plus to lose?

HerRoyalHappiness · 28/12/2021 11:07

Im 30 and I weigh 19st 7lb.

Ideally I'd like to lose 10st. I'm obese and I hate it.
I started again dieting yesterday.

I can only manage 5000 steps a day due to being disabled, and I do those with a frame.

I'm hopeful that if I lose the weight there'll be less pressure on my already buggered joints.

Anyone else with a lot to lose would you like a daily check in thread with me?

I have finally bought some scales but too scared to get on them.
Do you buy the ready to drink Slim Fast? I feel I need something drastic.

HerRoyalHappiness · 07/08/2022 06:20

@Sunshineandrainbow Well done on the purchase of scales. Give yourself a couple of days to gear up to stepping on them.
I buy the powder tubs, but also the ready made If I'm planning on going out, which isn't very often due to my health deteriorating so much recently. I now have to use my wheelchair to get out and about. Which means I'm doing less walking than I was, so originally I gained weight back. Now I've stopped the snacks and just have 2 shakes and a meal, I'm losing again.

Struggling to do with my body image on holiday seeing all these lovely toned tanned bodies and I've got granny thighs I'm 29. I'm really proud of myself but I so wish loose skin didn't exist Booked in for a tummy tuck in November but feel like I will need a load of things doing. Dont know if I'll ever feel comfortable wearing a bikini .

OhFatty · 07/08/2022 11:45

I’d be really interested to hear about your tummy tuck @Felixsmama I’ll definitely need one. I was sort of hoping that they were offered on the nhs but it seems that’s not the case. Fair enough, but I need to start saving!

OhFatty · 07/08/2022 11:46

@Felixsmama you must be so o proud of yourself. As you’re so young is there a chance that your skin will tighten on its own?

HerRoyalHappiness · 08/08/2022 10:53

How's everyone getting on? Today's going to be tough for me. I had to write my dad a letter for therapy. I have been an emotional wreck over it. But needs must.
I'm going to try and stick to my plan.

I'm still struggling after my injury. I maintained this week at least and fully counting everything again from today. I'm starting to get out the house a bit more but it definitely aggravates things if I'm not careful so I end up needing to rest for a couple of days after which is leading to not very good choices with food at times.

I've changed my wanted loss on NutraCheck from 1.5lb a week to 1lb a week and I've got about 300 calories more a day now. If I went over before I'd just think "fuck it" and just not track anything for the rest of the week so hopefully this will help keep me focused as it'll all add up in the long run anyway. If I come in way under then that's great but I won't be giving up as easily now.

Such an amazing loss. What kind of plan have you been following?
Definitely going to. Weigh myself tomorrow morning and make a plan.

That sounds emotional.
Hope your afternoon went well.

Sunshineandrainbow · 09/08/2022 09:45

Morning everyone
Starting weight 18.9 OMG.
Have done a walking your tube mile this morning.
And food planned for the day.

Breakfast - coffee
Lunch salad and vege strips
Apple and Greek yog.
Beans on toast for dinner as late finish at work.

HerRoyalHappiness · 09/08/2022 09:48

So despite my difficult day I managed to lose a pound! I'm over the moon with that.

Well done on food planning @Sunshineandrainbow

Well done @HerRoyalHappiness

And I need to plan again like you @Sunshineandrainbow it does make such a difference.

I was 100 calories under yesterday in the end. I got to evening time and still had 550 left so I enjoyed a few wee snacks and tracked them before I ate them to make sure I had the space for them and didn't feel guilty about it. I think changing my weekly loss was the right thing, especially right now when I can't be active.

I hope these salter scales are accurate as I can't really believe I have lost 4 lb. If I have then that amazing and I am hoping that spures me on not to eat rubbish this weekend.
How is everyone else?

ShinyPikachu · 13/08/2022 10:47

Well done @Sunshineandrainbow

I lost 2.4lb (3.5lb off total).

I'm finally getting a bit more mobile although I haven't left the house, but obviously tracking again has helped me so much this week. I was only aiming for 1lb so I'm chuffed with that.

I even had a McDonalds this week and didn't feel guilty because I tracked it and kept just within my calories for the day. When I was still at SW I would have beaten myself up over that for the rest of the week and totally sabotaged myself.

Covid has ruined what was going to be a big boozy celebration this weekend (final family birthday before Christmas, not us who caught it at least) and a there was going to be a huge meal out too so just going to have a quiet weekend at home now and we'll see family at the end of the month instead.

redambergreen70 · 13/08/2022 11:46

Can i join you all please?
Ive put on 10st on since I had my children (eldest is 8) and I’m so fed up with myself now. I’m 32 but feel years older, constantly exhausted and haven’t felt comfortable in myself in a long time.
I start for good (and the last time!) tomorrow. My start weight is 18st exactly.

ShinyPikachu · 13/08/2022 12:06

I meant to say I did my weigh in early because we had plans but then I got the phone call that it was cancelled. I'll probably go back to Monday from next week. Smile

Welcome @redambergreen70 Smile

When I started I thought 16 stone was so far away, but now I'm nearly there! I'm now going to get to 14 by the end of the year and I can't believe I'm typing that because it sounded impossible.

Thank you and hello :-)

Has anyone tried the C25K?

blueplan · 13/08/2022 13:34

Hi all. Lovely to read so many positive outcomes this week. I've lost 1/2lb this week - happy with that. We had a meal out with friends on Monday and then had a more relaxed attitude to food generally this week - strawberries and cream, a couple of chocolates etc. I will get back to proper eating in the next few weeks, but we have a few things booked that will mean I'm not as good as usual.
Been a bit of a rough week otherwise - my mum has been diagnosed with bowel cancer (we really weren't expecting that) and we are now waiting to find out the extent and what treatment plan they propose.

Prettybubblesintheair · 13/08/2022 14:26

Afternoon all hope everyone isn’t melting in this heat! It’s 34 degrees here and oh my god I think I’m going to cry I just hate it so much! In the plus side I am finally under 14st! By some miracle I lost 4lb this week despite a five guys AND a Burger King! To be fair they were the only meals I ate that day and on Wednesday I did 20,000 steps as I took the dc to the science museum (it was hot they argued all day and it cost me a bomb 😭) so really happy with that. I’m now 13st 13lb 🥳. We’re taking them to Thorpe park next week and I can’t wait because last time I went I was almost 18st and almost didn’t fit on rides and this time I’m excited to be able to go and enjoy it without spending the whole queue worried I’ll be too big and have to do the walk of shame! Hope everyone else is good and 😊

Fifife · 20/08/2022 17:35

Is anyone towards the end of their journey ? I've got around 7 more lbs I would like to lose but it's so slow just been on holiday and I lost 1.5lb so not too bad. I've lost 7 stone 6lbs so far eek.

HerRoyalHappiness · 20/08/2022 21:27

@Fifife I'm not, I still have around 9st to lose after managing to lose an epic 1st 4lb this month. But you've done amazingly to lose so much!

OP posts:
DuckWithOneWing · 21/08/2022 14:48

@HerRoyalHappiness you've done brilliantly this month!

I've lost about 8lbs this month, which is right on track to hit my interim goal weight by Christmas. Then next year I'll have 3.5 stone to get to my final goal weight. I'm about halfway there at the moment, which seems crazy.

ShinyPikachu · 22/08/2022 10:19

Well done on losses!

That's an amazing loss so far @Fifife - well done!

I've had a gain this week but I haven't tracked again as I've had my period making me crave sugar like crazy. It's only every few months I get like that with it at least as I don't tend to eat a lot of sugar otherwise.

I'm out for a meal this week but going to track the rest of the time so should still be fine. Smile

Pleased with a few more pounds gone. Had afternoon tea last Friday and it was very heavy with sweet stuff so was a bit worried. It was MIL retirement and we all enjoyed it.
How is everyone doing?
