Hi, here's the new thread.

So after a good loss last week, I am up, 9st 3.5. That said, I am down 1.75 since the beginning of June. Hope we get some decent weather again this month.

TheHoneyBadger · 30/06/2021 08:10

I'm ending June at 13:4.2. Only lost about 2.5lbs this month but it's going in the right direction and I have also gained a bit of muscle.

It would lovely to be able to see under 13st in July but won't beat myself up if not so long as it is still going down.

Plan is to keep gyming, keep trying to cut down on the late evening snacking, keep making sure I'm getting a good amount of protein and not over doing portions oh and as always to stay sane..

Just over 2st down without about the same again to lose.

TheHoneyBadger · 30/06/2021 08:11

with about the same to lose.

Octopus37 · 30/06/2021 08:31

@TheHoneyBadger you have done fantasically

OP posts:
LadyDanburysHat · 30/06/2021 08:36

Well done @Octopus37 and @TheHoneyBadger. I have not lost this week. But I have lost a total of 10lbs in the last 6 weeks. Starting July at 13st 7.25. I hope to see 12 something by the end of July too.

TheHoneyBadger · 30/06/2021 09:32

Thanks. We're quite similar then LadyD - how tall are you?

NutellaEllaElla · 30/06/2021 10:14

Thanks for the new thread. The last time I weighed myself I was back at my goal weight. Weekend social eating is still tricky to manage without anxiety and over compensating during the week so I'm hoping to work on that somehow. I've got a weekend break coming up so will abandon relax my rules and focus on enjoying myself.

TheHoneyBadger · 30/06/2021 10:54

Go for it Nutella and trust yourself that even if a few pounds go on you can correct it gently over the next week or two. You've still got to live and be able to enjoy your social life in my opinion and I think you have proven you can course correct when needed. Eventually I think you'd learn to trust yourself and your body?

Missing out on a social life or spending it anxious and feeling guilty doesn't sound like a way to live long term. We definitely want to aim for sustainable and not damaging our quality of life I reckon.

LadyDanburysHat · 30/06/2021 12:26

@TheHoneyBadger I'm 5ft 4. Lots to lose to be healthy.

TheHoneyBadger · 30/06/2021 12:38

I'm 5'7 so not as much to lose as you now but there was when I started out last year - we'll get there! 10lbs in 6 weeks is a great start!

LadyDanburysHat · 30/06/2021 16:17

Thank you. It could have been more if I was truly focused, but there have been two birthdays and I'm not going to deny myself. I'm taking a longer term view than I have previously.

TheHoneyBadger · 30/06/2021 19:34

Octopus I finally got to speak to a GP and am going to be starting HRT patches asap. I'm excited but trying not to get my hopes up. Are you feeling any difference?

Octopus37 · 01/07/2021 07:20

That's brilliant @TheHoneyBadger, hope they make a difference to you. Definitely worth a go for the health benefits alone..

I'm just at the end of my first month. Felt really good on the Oestrogen, but a bit up and down on the Progesterone part of it, took my last Progesterone tablet this morning. Some days have been ok, some days have been a bit crap and I have had quite a bit of breakthrough bleeding which I've been told is normal. I think next month will give me a better indication. Good luck. Half a pound down this morning, 9st3

Octopus37 · 02/07/2021 07:19

9st3.5 this morning. Glad the weather is picking up again.

@NutellaEllaElla I seem to remember you saying something about having an Airfryer a while back. Am considering getting one and wondering if they are worth it.

OP posts:
NutellaEllaElla · 02/07/2021 07:27

Yes I bought one off Facebook marketplace. I didn't want to spend much as I wasn't sure how useful it would be.

We don't use it hardly at all to be truthful. It's great if you want to do breaded chicken or make your own chips or heat up oven chips. Nothing your oven can't do though... Maybe if you are keen on fried foods it's better for you but I guess I never ate much fried food before and to be honest I'm not sure I'm using it to it's fullest potential.

TheHoneyBadger · 02/07/2021 10:19

Sounds like most kitchen gadgets then. I have a rice cooker and breadmaker taking up space in my cupboards and recently gave away one of those george thornby grill things. I too considered a dry fryer but then thought we wouldn't actually use it.

Weight a little up today but I've been pretty inactive the last few days and munched on some tangfastics (I don't usually even like them) that ds left lying around last night so not surprised.

Chemist has had to order in my patches so have taken my number and will text me if they arrive today. Octopus - I have 2 weeks of just oestrogen in the patches then two weeks of the same dose of oestrogen but progesterone added as well. I'm wary of progesterone as I was an emotional wreck (more than usual) when I tried the mini pill but I'm hoping patches are more gentle. My back up plan is the mirena (progesterone stays local to the womb only and not in the blood stream I believe) and oestrogen only patches but will see how it goes. Don't forget there's other options if after a few months you're still feeling the same about the progesterone part of the cycle.

LBB2020 · 03/07/2021 08:11

Hello, can I join please?
My scales are broken so I’m not exactly sure how much I weigh, I was 10st1lb beginning of June but we went on holiday mid June and I definitely overindulged Blush
My goal is to get back to 9st7lbs by November when I return back to work (currently on maternity leave).
I’m going to do a big healthy food shop tomorrow and charge up my Fitbit. I’m going to try 16:8 as my downfall is eating rubbish in the evenings once the children are in bed! From Monday I will aim for an eating window of 11-7 (although I am still going to have a morning coffee with milk as I’m still breastfeeding the baby once or twice overnight) and start trying to exercise at least 3 times a week. Also need to drink a lot more water!

Octopus37 · 03/07/2021 09:15

Welcome @LBB2020, congratulations on your baby.

Hope your patches have arrivd @TheHoneyBadger. Will have to see how I go with the progesterone, still bleeding at the moment, have been to some extent since I started taking it but I know its early days. Its good to know that there are other options.@NutellaEllaElla thanks for the info about the air fryer, not sure. I was looking at a blogger I follow who does loads of air fryer stuff not long ago and my DS seemed quite interested. I'm running out of ideas on what to feed them on and need to do quick, healthy meals so maybe, will think some more. On a weight front, 9st3.75 today, went to Nandos last night.

OP posts:
LBB2020 · 03/07/2021 10:01

Thank you @Octopus37 he’s almost 10 months now (I also have an almost 4 year old so coffee is a lifeline Grin).
If anyone has any quick and easy healthy meal and snack ideas please share them! Smile x

NutellaEllaElla · 03/07/2021 12:32

I recommend the pinch of nom recipe books but they're not necessarily quick.

Low cal snack ideas.... Popcorn?

LBB2020 · 03/07/2021 13:16

Thank you @NutellaEllaElla I will look up pinch of nom

TheHoneyBadger · 03/07/2021 16:10

Small portions of overnight oats are good for snacks if you're someone who needs regular food. You can add a spoonful of protein powder for extra protein and fullness.

NutellaEllaElla · 03/07/2021 16:51

Strawberries and raspberries barely count as calories, great low cal snacks.

TheHoneyBadger · 03/07/2021 20:37

And meringue nests have 50 cals if you need a sweet treat with your berries.

LBB2020 · 03/07/2021 21:55

Thank you Smile these are great ideas! I have a really sweet tooth so meringue and berries would be ideal!

TheHoneyBadger · 04/07/2021 06:28

Well I’m 13:5 today which is above my lowest this week but down a whole 0.2lb from last week. So a minuscule loss.

Hopefully I’ll get to the gym more this week. I only went once this week because I was ill and I had to have time off work which meant I was really inactive.

Need to start losing again. That’s less than a pound in a fortnight! With at least 2 stone to lose still that’s crazy slow. However I gained 0.3lb of muscle according to my scales which if I understand correctly means I converted more than that of fat.
