Hi, here's the new thread.

So after a good loss last week, I am up, 9st 3.5. That said, I am down 1.75 since the beginning of June. Hope we get some decent weather again this month.

It's a big hill to walk down to school and I always feel like I need to wee even though I've been ten minutes before. Due to covid the school loo isn't an option and I always worry I'll have to squat behind a bush Blush I've never had to but I'm a worrier.

NutellaEllaElla · 14/07/2021 14:34

Can I just recommend some lifesaving low cal sweet treats that are getting me through the day?
Mini Stroopwaffel SUCH a good chewy biscuit and only 35 cals a piece .
Reese's minis: only 16 cals each
Bags of maltesers: 99 cals
Kit kat: 104 cals
Cookie and cream mini ice creams from Aldi: 100 ish cals
mini viennese ice creams from Aldi: less than 90 cals
Gooey chocolate brownie Halo top ice cream from Tesco

I'm finding polos quite effective at the moment.
I've won the Fitbit bingo today so I'm on a bit of a high with that especially after walking very little last week and feeling like a sloth.
It's been a lovely day here and the weather looks fabulous for the next week Smile

Octopus how is your dad doing?

NutellaEllaElla · 14/07/2021 21:17

Another good day. Low cal and on water target. We almost had a dinner catastrophe when we returned from our walk at 7.30 to find that the oven hadn't been set properly and so it hadn't turned on. We had planned Gammon and eggs for dinner and it would have taken an hour and a half and I was already hangry. My first thought was to get a take away but managed to think of doing a smoky bacon and tomato spaghetti which was super quick and low cal. Phew.

FlatteredFool · 15/07/2021 07:06

Good morning. 64.2kg this morning. Enjoy the sunshine!

Octopus37 · 15/07/2021 07:14

Sounds as if everyone is doing well.

My Dad is improving, he's on a normal ward now and eating. Physio are trying to help him get more active. He was frustrated yesterday cause the sunlight where he was, was stopping him from being able to read his paper, sign that he is getting back to himself. He has a scan tomorrow to check that there has been no more bleeding, worried about that tbh but hoping for the best. So far his liver seems to be doing what its supposed to. I'm going up for the day on Saturday.

9st0.5 this morning.

That sounds really positive OctopusSmile

FlatteredFool · 15/07/2021 22:13

I'm really hungry tonight but too tired to eat anyway. I was very tempted to give in to my craving for toast but I'll feel so much better in the morning if I don't.
How is everyone doing?

Octopus37 · 16/07/2021 06:53

@FlatteredFool thanks, I'm hoping it continues. Need to think a lot about his longer term care, not sure when he's going to be out of hospital.
9st1.25 this morning, ate more yesterday. One day I will get under 9st she says. Hope everyone has a good day

13.2:4 this morning. Going in the right direction at the minute. I'd like to be 13.2 by my weigh in on Sunday.

FlatteredFool · 16/07/2021 07:34

64.05kg this morning 😃

FlatteredFool · 16/07/2021 07:41

Just worked out that's 3.3lbs off so far this week. I know the first week is usually the biggest drop and mainly water but I'm still feeling good about it.
It's going to be a beautiful day again. Ds is on a school trip and dds break up today I'm on operation tidy upSad

Octopus37 · 16/07/2021 07:42

9st1 this morning, I went out with one of my friends for food last night. Off up North again today. My Dad is still doing well, but unfortuntely he needs another procedure cause there is still some blood around the area. They will be doing that on Monday, just hoping that nothing happens in the meantime.

NutellaEllaElla · 17/07/2021 12:30

I'm 4lbs up from a month of gluttony (and after 4 days of being back on the wagon).

TheHoneyBadger · 17/07/2021 13:31

13:2.7 today - I ate quite late at night.

You'll soon lose it again Nutella now you're back on the wagon.

I'm officially on holiday now.

TheHoneyBadger · 18/07/2021 08:22

Hmm annoyingly weight is up today. It's still half a pound down from last Sunday (official weigh in) but higher than lows I've seen this week.

My period is imminent though - having said that I've started HRT a few weeks ago now so not sure how that will effect timings. Anyway I shall blame it on that as I didn't actually eat much yesterday.

Octopus37 · 18/07/2021 08:56

Yes @TheHoneyBadger, it will be your period. @NutellaEllaElla bet you loose the weight really quickly, you need to have fun sometimes.

9st this morning. TBH (sorry its all I ever post these days), another difficult day yesterday. I arrived at my Sister's house all set to see my Dad and within 5 mins my nephew had tested positive. Luckily I had only been 2 metres away from him for less than 5 mins, so after a lot of deliberation, call to the hospital, 111 and then 119, 119 said that I didn't have to self-isolate. Would have had to stay up there for 10 days, not able to see my Dad, not able to work etc, it goes on. Feel very relieved, but obviously being hyper vigilant, doing tests every day.

I’ve completely fallen off the wagon this week Blush back on it today and really trying to stick to 11-7 eating window (evenings are my downfall and I find once I have breakfast it makes me more hungry?!).
Sounds stressful @Octopus37 I hope your dad continues to improve and his next procedure goes smoothly. Everyone seems to be doing so well with weight loss Smile I don’t know why I can’t seem to stay motivated for longer than a day!

Octopus37 · 18/07/2021 12:11

Totally understandable not being able to stay motivated. It took my until June to lose my Christmas weight, no exaggeration. Only reason I've lost a bit recently is cause of stress.

OP posts:
NutellaEllaElla · 18/07/2021 12:33

@LBB2020 slow and steady wins the race, but what's ruining your motivation? Getting hungry? Bored eating?

LBB2020 · 18/07/2021 13:15

@NutellaEllaElla I have 2 young children (3 year old with SEN and a 10 month old) so I always grab quick things that are often not healthy Blush I’m breastfeeding too so am always hungry! It’s so annoying as I really do want to lose this last half a stone but I just don’t keep motivated and on track

TheHoneyBadger · 18/07/2021 19:55

I can't imagine when breastfeeding and running round after a 3 year old an extra half stone would massively motivate you to diet - in a way I'd be worried if it did. It's half a stone and you'll likely never be this busy/knackered/all things to all people ever again.

NutellaEllaElla · 18/07/2021 20:06

Good advice

LBB2020 · 18/07/2021 22:52

I know you are completely right but I feel sad when I see myself in the mirror, I don’t recognise my body at all! I think I’m frustrated as well because everyone seems to say weight falls off when breastfeeding whereas it definitely hasn’t for me!
I think even eating healthier and finding time for some exercise will make me feel better even if the scales don’t really move!
Thank you for being kind Smile
