Hi, here's the new thread.

So after a good loss last week, I am up, 9st 3.5. That said, I am down 1.75 since the beginning of June. Hope we get some decent weather again this month.

Well after going out for food and drinks with my bestie last night, I'm up to 9st1. Hoping its a temporary thing. @LBB2020 I really admire your discipline, especially with young children. @TheHoneyBadger I'm sure you will get a woosh again soon.

Hope so. I swam on Sunday and went to the gym yesterday but haven't been doing great on food and drink. Had fish and chips last night. 13:3 this morning.

NutellaEllaElla · 28/07/2021 14:08

Hello. I'm still around. I feel like I let myself down at the weekend and saw an increase in the scales as a result. Have had an ok ish week so far. One on target, another at maintenance. Hoping for a good day today.

I have at least been doing well in the water intake front.

TheHoneyBadger · 28/07/2021 15:34

I'm on track for an epic fail. Tesco delivery driver tore half my tree down somehow so I've had to email their insurer's with photos etc and generally get over the wtf and how and what happens now stage which involved a fuck it and opening of beer.

Then the sky went dark and the thunder started followed by torrential rain which scuppered the go for a walk idea. Oh well.

Nutella don't be so hard on yourself. I suspect that's what maintenance looks like for most people. I doubt anyone gets there and just stays there and happily eats the same amount of calories every day happy ever after. I should think see-sawing and having some indulgent weekends and some compensatory reigning it in days is normal. If we were those naturally skinny people who could eat anything or never felt like eating too much then we wouldn't be here would we?

Not sure you should listen to advice to someone who is over 13 stone though. I realised this morning that I'm now the weight I was just before giving birth. Within a year I was back down to 10 stone Confused My metabolism is not what it used to be.

TheHoneyBadger · 28/07/2021 15:37

Also gutting - I remember the shock at the difference between my most recent passport photo and the one from 10 years previously. My 40's have not been kind.

I think when you're young ageing and getting fat and having to choose between watch what you eat or ending up squeezing through doorways are all things that happen to other people but could never possibly happen to us.

NutellaEllaElla · 28/07/2021 21:46

You are right, i'm sure maintenance is bumpy. I don't like it 🤣
I'm in my 30s so distinctly not looking forward to slowing metabolism I must say.

Octopus37 · 29/07/2021 07:38

Agree maintenance is always going to be bumpy cause we all need to live. I for one would hate to never be able to go out for a meal, never be able to drink etc. It would be pretty miserable, especially after all the socialising we have missed out on over the past year. 8st13.75 this morning. @TheHoneyBadger the 40s thing is hard to get your head round, for me photos are always awful anyway cause of my eye problem, but the change in metabolism and energy levels is hard. I know they say you cant outrun your fork, but if I couldn't walk everywhere for whatever reason, I would have to go seriously hungry.

Hi all, I've been largely ignoring any kind of sticking to my calories due to the horrific PMS I had. It has now passed, no period as I have the coil.

I weighed myself this morning for the first time in over a week and am pleasantly surprised to be back to 12st 5.2.5 which is where I was before my holiday break. There must have been some water retention making it higher previously. Although I've not been eating well I have continued with the exercise, so that has at least held me steady. It also means I am not miserable trying to relose weight I've already lost.

@LBB2020 good luck on the new nursery. I do think these things are way harder for us as parents than for the DC.

@Octopus37 I hope things are continuing to go well for your Dad.

Octopus37 · 29/07/2021 13:43

Thanks @LadyDanburysHat he came out of hospital yesterday and is staying with my Sister for a few days. Its a case of a day at a time and seeing how things go. I'm planning to go up to see him on Wednesday. Well done on getting back to your pre-holiday weight.

LBB2020 · 29/07/2021 19:45

Great news that your dad is out of hospital @Octopus37!
Glad your PMS has passed and you’re back to your pre-holiday weight @LadyDanburysHat Smile
I’m the same @NutellaEllaElla, in my 30’s (just Wink) I’ve definitely noticed it’s harder to lose weight now!
I cracked last night and raided the cupboards once the baby finally went to bed and I’ve eaten pretty poorly today as well Blush never mind tomorrow is a new day!

NutellaEllaElla · 29/07/2021 20:15

So far this week I have had two days on target and two days at maintenance calories. Could've been worse I suppose.

Octopus37 · 29/07/2021 22:02

That sounds like a win @NutellaEllaElla

8st12 this morning, think its cause my HRT period has started properly. Wish the weather would buck up. With my Dad progress is slow but hopefully steady, we may need to talk about additional help. Shoudl hopefully become clearer next week.

OP posts:
TheHoneyBadger · 30/07/2021 14:06

Glad he's making progress Octopus.

13:1.2 here. New low I think but by a tiny bit only

Octopus37 · 31/07/2021 08:38

Thats fantastic @TheHoneyBadger. So glad to wake up to no rain this morning. Went out with a friend last night so 8st13.25 this morning. Want to do reasonably well this week cause we are going away from 9th - 12th August which will mean less exercise and more food. Cannot believe its August tomorrow, but quite glad to say goodbye to July tbh

OP posts:
TheHoneyBadger · 31/07/2021 15:53

I was up by 0.2 of a pound this morning but I was awake and ate in the middle of the night so not surprising. I went to the gym today and did weights plus an hour on the treadmill so hopefully weigh in tomorrow will be good.

We had a nice day here yesterday and went to a fake beach and swam and had a picnic. Today we have rain.

drspouse · 31/07/2021 16:08

Up 1 1/2 lb 🤦

LBB2020 · 31/07/2021 20:05

I can’t believe it’s August tomorrow! We’ve been out at a birthday get together today and we’re out with my in-laws tomorrow (MIL has apparently baked a cake!)

TheHoneyBadger · 01/08/2021 06:49

New low of 13:0.8. Didn’t quite make my goal of under 13 this month but not far off.

Lost 1.1lb this week. Slowly,slowly…

Octopus37 · 01/08/2021 08:08

Well done @TheHoneyBadger. Off to start the new thread.
