Morning shorties!

Thank you for the new thread @neverenoughchelseaboots :)

@Sooverthemill sorry to hear about your DD - it must be really tough and I hope things improve for you a bit

@purplegirl - happy belated birthday!! 🥳 And fantastic news on the maintaining this week - agree with everyone that it does make things more tricky now socialising is back in the cards.

I am 9.12.6 this week so down about .7lb and I think a whisker below my order holiday weight. I’ve completely lost my mojo though with the lively weather as all I want to so is drink white wine in the sun and eat potato salad.

I’m really panicking though as I have a wedding to go to in a month and am still a great deal heavier than I’d like 😫. I have noticed that I’ve been walking less so will try to up that next week to counter my more frequent trips to the fridge ‘just to look’ (whereupon obviously snaffling occurs).

I am bang on half way through my goal. 12kg lost, 12kg to go. BMI currently 25.6.

GOOD LUCK to everyone weighing in today!!

Knittingnanny · 18/06/2021 09:45

It’s horrid here today but it’s not a childcare day for us so I haven’t got to worry about entertaining toddlers indoors!
Still hovering around the 8.10/11/12 depending which tile I put the scales on!

purplegirl13 · 18/06/2021 10:50

@Knittingnanny it's horrid here as well, and I can't face going out for groceries so will make do with what I have in. I'm pleased to hear you're still under the magic 9st.

@BlodwinTheThird look at us both sticking under 10st! May we never see it on the scales again. Do you have an outfit to wear for the wedding and have you tried it on? Well done for an impressive 12kg loss!

@SwimmingOnEggshells have you dared brave the scales yet?

SwimmingOnEggshells · 18/06/2021 10:52

I haven't @purplegirl13!! in a bit of denial at the moment...

purplegirl13 · 18/06/2021 10:52

@neverenoughchelseaboots thanks for the new thread. Dare I ask and be completely completely envious to find out how many calories your DH can eat and still lose on?

SwimmingOnEggshells · 18/06/2021 10:52

Oooo shiny new thread!

purplegirl13 · 18/06/2021 10:53

@SwimmingOnEggshells I don't blame you! There's no rush x

SwimmingOnEggshells · 18/06/2021 11:02

@purplegirl13 and thank you for tagging me, now that I'm on the new thread hopefully I'll get my mojo back soon :).

humptydumpty21 · 18/06/2021 11:14

Happy Friday ladies, miserable weather here today.

No change for me this week. 8.5

BlodwinTheThird · 18/06/2021 11:51

@purplegirl13 I actually tried a few on after my post. Don’t look brilliant but good enough that I won’t care after a few vinos! With an extra 12kg I don’t think I’d even have got near to getting into them, so that’s something I suppose!

Sooverthemill · 18/06/2021 12:35

Thank you @neverenoughchelseaboots for the new thread!
@welltidy thanks and @BlodwinTheThird too. It's hard, it's heartbreaking but obviously no one has any choice but to plod on. Everyone has something tough going on that we don't see I reckon.

I'm shattered today after a week of tough nights though am managing to stick to my no snacking rule. Weighed myself today and I'm .2 of a kilo down since Tuesday. I usually don't weigh more than once a week but wanted the motivation not to pig out on cakes tomorrow when DH does weekly trip to bakery, ( we are still being ultra cautious because if DD had to go into hospital I couldn't go with her during Covid).

Sooverthemill · 18/06/2021 12:36

Also I've been de cluttering my wardrobe and it's brilliant. I'm selling everything at a low price on eBay and have made a few hundred so far listing a few a day. I feel lighter having nothing I don't love and having clothes that make me feel good

Morningmaeve · 18/06/2021 13:29

New thread! Hello all. Didn't weigh today as hasn't been a good week dietwise. I can't seem to get motivated at the moment. Weather rubbish too so I am not sure I can face planned C25K run later...

purplegirl13 · 18/06/2021 13:31

@BlodwinTheThird if the outfits do up and aren't ridiculously tight/uncomfortable they will do. Think about where you've come from, it is very impressive and it's going to be feel amazing once you get near to 9st. Also we have started this journey, if we hadn't think about how you'd be feeling now. It's a slow, slow journey but we'll eventually get there. What are you snacking on? Can you pop the wedding invitation on the fridge as motivation?

purplegirl13 · 18/06/2021 13:35

@Sooverthemill no snacking is an achievement, I know how hard it is when you're tired and just looking for a sugar boost. You're inspiring me to possibly ebay some of my items, I've been decluttering also and trying to be brutal. Unfortunately, 80% of my wardrobe doesn't fit but hoping it will by the end of the year.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 18/06/2021 13:53

It's so satisfying isn't it? @Sooverthemill I did a huge de-clutter last week but I sent it all to the charity shop - 3.5 huge black bags full! and another half baf in the bin. I also sold some baby clothes on a local site which was nice. With Brexit it's not really worth my while using eBay anymore which I'm sad about :( eBay here is pretty crap.

I agree with you about everybody having stuff going on. You sound like an amazing mum.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 18/06/2021 13:54

So I braved the scales, 1.5lb up on my low from a few weeks ago. Could be way worse so I'm happy enough with that.

Knittingnanny · 18/06/2021 15:23

I’ve put a few dresses on eBay today, my mother of the bridegroom outfit from 4 years ago which miraculously I see is a size 10! Must have really had to squeeze into it. Very very hot day in a restored medieval “ wedding venue” village in the middle of nowhere in Italy. I sweated buckets in my very English wedding outfit of dress and jacket. Hand washed it very carefully and as I’ll never wear it again have put it on eBay at a very low price.
Other dresses I put on were bought recently on eBay as new without tags but no returns allowed. Sadly they didn’t look right so are back on eBay today.
Still pouring with rain and am in the car waiting to pick up 3 year old from nursery to save mummy have to come out with the baby in the rain.
I’ve picked at food all day!
“ it’s the weather” said Mrs May
If your children read Oxford reading tree you may recognise that particular character ( Mrs May the teacher of Biff Chip etc) and her favourite phrase.
It’s my go to phrase for most things that don’t go to plan!
Somehow I ate a left over bag of Pom bears which I don’t even like!

BlodwinTheThird · 18/06/2021 15:24

I’m snacking on fruit @purplegirl13 so think I’m being ‘good’ but could easily mindlessly chomp through an entire punnet of grapes which means I might as well just have a twix !

I need to get back to logging everything in MFP and walking every day mon-thurs. it’s only four days but my willpower has completely disappeared!

BlodwinTheThird · 18/06/2021 15:25

I’m there with you and the ‘picked at food all day’ @Knittingnanny!

Sooverthemill · 18/06/2021 15:32

@Knittingnanny well done! Individual people might take returns you know. I always say ' no returns' but do sometimes take back depending on circumstances. Also Pom Bears got me through chemotherapy! I was so sick and nauseous and they were the only thing that helped, I ate 6 bags a day the day after my infusions. And that's why I put on weight!

neverenoughchelseaboots · 18/06/2021 16:31

I think we're still figuring that out @purplegirl13 !

It's so hard to judge because he's incredibly active (I'm not exaggerating when I say he sits down to eat and sleep) so he's currently ravenous but I reckon he was having 3,000+ calories a day and burning most of it. It's interesting how different it is calories wise- even though it's just to get rid of a little excess rather than anything serious like a lot of us.

OP posts:
purplegirl13 · 19/06/2021 10:13

@SwimmingOnEggshells 1.5lbs is not too bad at all!

@Knittingnanny it's definitely the weather

@BlodwinTheThird tracking on MFP is a good idea but only if you're honest Wink

@neverenoughchelseaboots I find it fascinating the different calorie needs, I have a male friend who is 6'4 and he needs to eat about 2,700 calories to lose weight but his focus is more on upping activity, whilst mine is creating a small deficit via food intake. I do think us shorties need to keep active to allow us to eat a bit more the way we would want, I can see I gained nearly 7lbs from Jan-June 2020 due to lack of movement/at home working/shielding.

I am struggling with anxiety at the moment, just feeling horribly panicked some mornings, no pattern to it and nothing specific making me feel this way. I am dropping off a couple of bags to the charity shop this morning and then have a couple of hours before meeting a friend for a late lunch.

B - greek yogurt, honey, flaked almonds
L - am out for this - possibly an omelette or poached eggs on toast
D - goats cheese on sourdough
Extras- prosecco, dark chocolate

purplegirl13 · 20/06/2021 16:21

A bit of spinach in my omelette yesterday, otherwise not a fruit or vegetable in sight this weekend. I regret nothing and will get back to it tomorrow.

As @Knittingnanny says "it's the weather"
