Hey sister.

Ooh we were talking about airfryers today on a call. Are they good? We were reminiscing about proper lard chips and crispy pancakes.
Beats discussions on law.

Not2bObvious · 28/04/2021 21:24

I don't know, mines still in the box, but general consensus is yes. Really hope I get use out of it, it's pretty big so I'll not be happy if it's just an ornament. I shall report back😉

Not2bObvious · 28/04/2021 22:30

That sounds like the best day mrs, delighted you had a great time. Good company, after such a long time without, so what about the diet

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 28/04/2021 22:31

I hope that came across right, I meant no the diet isn't important by any stretch on days like that

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 29/04/2021 07:01

Sounds heaven Mrs. Agreed sod the diet enjoy the people seeing.

Not2bObvious · 29/04/2021 07:36

Down 1 to 163, same as last Thursday. Got my steps up to 12,300 yesterday after some stepping watching stuff so that widened the gap with deficit (I hope!)
Hoping to keep work busy, I'll workout at lunchtime and get a walk in later. Something smoked salmon for breakfast

They're excellent I've had them since 2008, never had a deep fat fryer, waiting for current one to give up so I can buy new version with a basket!

€21 in difference between digital and manual, do I need digital? Ds saw me looking and says 'Mammy why are you looking at them we already have one' very pragmatic and frugal!

What brand did you buy?

Happierwithouthim · 29/04/2021 08:02

Sounds great

I went home at the weekend for my fathers 70th, i hadn't seen him in 8 months, it was just lovely.

Not2bObvious · 29/04/2021 08:15

Ninja airfryer Max so very unfrugal - I reckoned buy once rather than upgrade later. That's so nice that you got to see your dad, he's so young! 8 months, that's tough going, it must have been a very special birthday. I was hoping desperately to get a few days down the country for the June BH but it not looking like hotels will be open, first world problem I know but I'm pretty disappointed.

Happierwithouthim · 29/04/2021 08:47

Not he's a twin so it was a double celebration plus my other uncle, 72, was there too as he's moved in with my aunt following health troubles. I got a takeaway dinner from nearby restaurant for everyone & got 20% off as it was my first order so 5 adults & 2 dc fed for €57.70 Grin

The ninja are special alright
I've had halo and actifry so far, they were €270 but lasted approx 8 years each. I'm looking at a tower 4.3litre they're about €75 Amazon but €58 in Tesco Wink

Happierwithouthim · 29/04/2021 08:47

I'm only cooking for 1 adult or 1 adult & 2 dc so don't need an expensive one

Not2bObvious · 29/04/2021 09:08

Flip! They have come down in price a lot, I was looking at the foodie one but it was over €200 & I don't need the pressure cooker/slow cooker option (bloody huge too) This one was €160, but as you say if you don't need the capacity the 4.3 would be perfect, €58 is really good value. I'm only looking to waste money these days, spending my emotions instead of eating them😂
You did very well on the meal, you nearly wouldn't make it for that yourself, never mind the time & effort.

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 29/04/2021 09:47

I sold my instant pot and have a slow cooker three slow cookers BlushBlush

The €58 one was back in stock yesterday but I didn't have time to go to Tesco, my own hasn't given up yet anyhow, but is getting stuck in gear occasionally so end is nigh!

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/04/2021 10:07

I have 2 slow cookers.
I may look at and actifry when if we move

Hungry today so. Going to have a few more carbs today

Gensola · 29/04/2021 14:15

Going to weigh self tomorrow. Eek, will have to cling to the weight loss from having my legs drained Grin

Not2bObvious · 29/04/2021 14:35

How and why do you pair have 3 and 2 slow cookers😂 I've only one and I'm feeling like the poor relative!
Have you had your legs drained yet gen?
Busy morning walking, got 35 body pump/20 min jog/25 min walk - just under 7,500 steps. Ugh

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 29/04/2021 14:45

I actually have 4 if I'm honest, first one I broke lid so bought second one, then needed a big one for Christmas ham, then Argos had a tiny one for €5 so I bought that too Grin

Not2bObvious · 29/04/2021 14:59

I'd be a sucker for a small sc, I think that would be sooo cute. Doing a slow cooker dinner, still haven't unboxed the fryer🤦‍♀️

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/04/2021 18:52

I found 1 wasn't enough when cooking big meals.

11900 steps and 16 calories over.

Mrsmadevans · 29/04/2021 21:57

Ahh thank you all so much for the support Smile , l honestly had the most wonderful time l loved seeing everyone it has been far too long and it so cheered me up , l was so happy. lifelongfrugaleer · 30/04/2021 07:23

Sorry happier I meant to say pleased you got to see everyone and had a good time.

Do it means. When you feel good you can tackle anything

Stuck at the same weight last 3 days. Hope I'm due a woosh. Bloody tired today though

Not2bObvious · 30/04/2021 07:38

Same weight for two days here, I'm sure you're due a whoosh life after being so diligent with calories. Planning to use the air fryer tonight (the excitement😂) the good thing about that being I'll be eating better than I'd normally on a Friday so that's a positive. Bit sad I've not lost any weight in April but it's my own fault, I need to make May better.

Neighbour made charity cakes so 170 over as already had mid afternoon snack. Ah well

Not2bObvious · 30/04/2021 15:59

No cals in charity cake. Did a 25 min body pump and 15 mins body combat as can't work out tomorrow. Just over 7,500 - I'll aim for 10,000 but saying that feeling lazy now!
Salad for lunch, skinny bar for afters. 750 left after dinner. I'll blow throw that in an hour😂
