Any doing Exante?

Hi.

Just wondering if anyone is doing Exante (or anything similar) currently. I have a few VLCD sachets in my kitchen cupboard and have ordered some bars. I’ll be starting Monday. Anyone else?

My starting weight is 18stone so I have to lose literally half my weight Blush.

My husband has moved over to keto, he’s lost 3lb this week. He’s eating bloody steak and butter and cheese!

imnotprincessbubblegum · 22/04/2021 09:32

@3Britnee well done for moving down to the next stone, how exciting! Smile

I can’t seem to find it now but I’m sure when I was ordering the other day I came across a product that had specifically highlighted that it had fibre in it.
Confused

Thanks, it's very motivating, I'm going to try to do 3 shakes today now. I know they say there is no difference in which products you have but I feel like I lose more on only shakes. It's probably all in my head though 😂

I keep thinking that, “surely I’ll lose more if I’m just having liquids” sounds right somehow Grin.

It does, but I failed, I had a salted caramel pudding instead. And it was delicious with a tea, just like tea & cake 😂

imnotprincessbubblegum · 22/04/2021 11:48

I’ve tried to diet SO many times over the years-including this type of diet-and I’ve honestly never lasted longer than a day and a half properly on any kind of plan (and even that I found really hard) and so I’m feeling really pleased. I know it probably sounds stupid as it’s only day 4 for me but I’m feeling really positive. I might actually get to a healthy weight/size before I’m thirty ( which is my goal having literally doubled in weight during my twenties Blush ).

Tea and cake sounds lovely. Day 4 is going well, I've only had a chocolate shake so far today, currently snuggled up with my asleep 10 month old so the next one will have to wait lol

3Britnee · 22/04/2021 13:50

If they still have the puddings on the site, def get some. The chocolate one is nice but the summer berries or whatever it is, is a bit strange.

3Britnee · 22/04/2021 13:52

Well done princess! I've a good feeling for you this time, cos you've got this thread to keep you on track 💪

Strawbfields · 22/04/2021 16:05

Hi ladies,

To say I am delighted to have found this thread is an understatement!

I'm in my mid/late 20s and over lockdown I've put on 3 stone+. My normal and ideal weight is 9st 4lbs and I'm now sitting at 12st 7lbs. I am an auxiliary nurse working 12.5hr shifts and am on my feet most of the day and smash my 10K steps every shift. My issue is when I come home and have my days off! If JustEat had a loyalty programme, I'd be "JustEater of the year" ... my takeaway habit has gotten way out of control to the point I'm ashamed of the money I spend weekly.

Many years ago I decided to try Juice Plus - I did not need to try this but I was sucked in by a friend selling the products and it did not agree with me. I spent days on the toilet and it wasn't pretty. I've also tried slim fast and while I haven't suffered the same ill effects, it didn't do much for me.

I have spent the day researching diets and came across Exante. The variety of shake flavours seems too good to be true! My ex MIL lost an exorbitant amount of weight following the Cambridge plan but that came with many horrid side effects including hair loss!!

My plan with Exante would be to have 2 shakes per day (1 breakfast & 1 lunch) followed by a healthy low calorie dinner (salmon, chicken and veg etc) I do not enjoy bars of any kind so would substitute the meal bars for a baby bell or small yogurt. Do you think I would see results from this if I religiously stuck to it?

Can I join ?
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who has the sachets in the cupboard but was waiting to start.
This week has been busy so I'll plan to start Saturday, it'll give me time to work out the over complicated scales again.
I've done Exante a couple of times before...it works but I tend to screw it up when I start to exercise. I also plateau quickly so I need to set my expectations & count success by how many days I've stuck to it.

3Britnee · 22/04/2021 16:12

Exante can give you hair loss if you stay on it long enough. Get a good biotin supplement.

They do meals instead of bars. The pizza and fajitas are very good, as are the black bean and Dahl pots. Sweet n sour noodles are good too actually, and red bean chilli, I used to put that with konjac 'rice'. The bolognese could go on kinda noodles. Some of the soups are ok as well.

I think you should have something more than a little yoghurt.

3Britnee · 22/04/2021 16:13

Konjac noodles, not kinda noodles.

I'm on day 2. I doubt my ability to stick to it, so not told anyone except those I live with. Put on a lot of weight in the last couple of years, and I'm very ashamed of myself, and very cross with myself for not getting a grip. So far so good, but basically waiting for me to sabotage myself. So impressed by all the motivated people on here.

Sounds like me most of the time I try diets, normally I'd think I'm so cross/upset with myself for getting like this I need to fix it but this time I've got a different mindset and deciding to think you deserve to be healthy and all the benefits of losing weight and I'm actually doing okay this time and finding it so much easier. Try not to be so hard on yourself, what's done is done and you're trying to get healthy which is a positive thing. Don't beat yourself up about how you got to this point, focus on where you'll be and how amazing you'll feel when you achieve all the little goals and non scale victories etc. You can do this and you've got all us here now to support you!

Was it the skinny sip thing? I'm sure they have fibre in them? They're meant to fill your stomach up as well. Frankly, to me that sounds like 'shits in a sachet'
Mallowmarshmallow · 22/04/2021 20:24

@Strawbfields, I am doing toe shakes and one low calorie/low carb meal a day. I'm only on day four so can't really give testament to how it's going but it feels a bit more sustainable for me.

I was wondering how long you guys are planning to do exante for? Clearly it's not sustainable for the long term....I think I'm hoping to lose a stone or two before transitioning to 1200 calories and exercise....

I'm only on day four so likely getting ahead of myself! Grin

How do people manage weekends? It's always where any healthy eating plan I have falls apart..... so far I've mainly been at home on my own so no temptation of being out among food and no pressure from the family to join them with eating out etc....

Noneofthathere · 22/04/2021 20:26

@imnotprincessbubblegum thank you, you're right, being hard on ourselves is not helpful! I like the idea that people have said about tracking the number of days you do it, I hadn't thought of that before, so going to try that too as a different angle.

As a side note, I'm drinking so much water I'm peeing for England!

3Britnee · 22/04/2021 20:26

😂

I had a version I got in boris, many moons ago. They aren't nice.

3Britnee · 22/04/2021 20:27

Boots, not boris 🙄

Babysharkdoodoodood · 22/04/2021 22:20

Just ordered 4 weeks to start me off. Annoying that I've verified as T2 diabetic to get 40% discount but can't use it on the meal plans.

3Britnee · 22/04/2021 22:43

I can't use the discount on the EU site at all 🤨 god knows why as its all the same company but 🤷‍♀️
