Hi.

Just wondering if anyone is doing Exante (or anything similar) currently. I have a few VLCD sachets in my kitchen cupboard and have ordered some bars. I’ll be starting Monday. Anyone else?

My starting weight is 18stone so I have to lose literally half my weight Blush.

Hi,

Hope I haven't arrived here too late but I had just found this thread Smile. I started the Exante 800 (Following the plan for type 2 diabetes) on Monday and I found the first 2 days quite grueling but felt a bit better today and even enjoyed some of the food! I ordered the 2 week box but have added to it by ordering bars and savoury meal replacements to try. I weighed 18st on Monday (exactly) and I am not proud. It's the heaviest I've ever ever been (am in early 40s).

In case anyone hasn't been sent this by Exante, found it quite helpful for organising food for the 200 kcals that I have for food other than meal replacements (noticed lots of people on the FB group had never seen it).

I was wondering how long you guys are planning to do exante for? Clearly it's not sustainable for the long term....I think I'm hoping to lose a stone or two before transitioning to 1200 calories and exercise....

I'm going to try to stick it out for a couple of weeks, then go back to a combination of Slimming World and Intermittent Fasting and then have Exante weeks here and there when I need a turbo boost.

I had the cinnamon porridge oats for breakfast at 7.30. Not bad but the great thing is that I didn't feel hungry until late morning. That's unheard of for me!! Later I had 2 boiled eggs, a chocolate caramel bar (it was ok but had that distinctive protein bar taste that I don't particularly love!) and then I planned to have a shake for dinner but ended up having chicken and veg in a tomato sauce, cooked with Frylight. All in all it probably worked out around 800kcals. I also did 2 lots of exercise which weren't terribly taxing but I did enjoy them.

Bit nervous about weighing in tomorrow (I'm a daily weigher!). Though I am feeling encouraged reading other people's successes! Smile

Oh, thank you for this - looks really helpful!

I bought a 2 wk box but I'm doing 4 products a day so I will run out after 10 days. Not sure whether I'll do another week or go to 1200 cals at that point, but trying not to get ahead of myself!

Only half a pound gone since yesterday. 11st 13lb 2oz today.

I knew I wouldn't have massive, massive losses this week because for the last 3 weeks all I've eaten is soup or the odd salad, so I haven't got lots of water or carb bloat to lose.

LetterFromLorah · 23/04/2021 08:10

I've lost 1lb since yesterday - not bad! Hoping to break the 13stone bracket tomorrow. That would really be a confidence booster.

🤞

I am following their guidance for type 2 diabetes and it was suggesting 12 weeks on the 800 plan (or stop if you reach a healthy weight earlier) and then go onto the 1200. Will see if I can hack it! Was really hard on first few days but seems to be a bit easier now.

I lost 2kg Monday-Wednesday but I've crept back up today. I've still been drinking tea and coffee and have been having the odd fibre one bar here and there so could definitely be stricter. I'm out for dinner tonight but it's Turkish so I can have chicken shish and then start strict again tomorrow

I've just had the Berry Yoghurt muesli for breakfast. First spoonful was quite nice but by the time I got to the end of the bowl it was a bit 😝 Oh man, not sure I could do this for a week!! 😂

Babysharkdoodoodood · 23/04/2021 11:38

Dear god! I ordered the 4 week plan and the box is HUGE!

Xogarana1988 · 23/04/2021 12:11

Well yesterday didn't go quite as planned after I broke down and was waiting for AA, so I managed 2 shakes and a soup late last night. Today I've had 1 shake so far, not hungry at all for lunch and about to go car shopping so I'll have something later on today. I think drinking lots of water is just filling me up but it's making my bladder think I'm pregnant with all these toilet trips 😂.

I'm struggling today. I had a bar and tea at 12 but then about half hour ago I got really hungry so I had a couple of prawns - literally a couple, 3 - and cocktail sauce and then a small stick of celery with the sauce on and then I thought fuck it, I'll try that poached egg trick where you put it in water and then microwave it so I ate an egg yolk. I'm probably still under the 200 cal food allowance but I wanted to have the pizza or fajitas tonight with prawns and mushrooms on.

But you know what, I walked for an hour this morning then I've done cleaning and I've chopped down a bush in the garden so I reckon it will be ok.

Thanks for the encouragement! Smile

I feel your pain!! DH came home unexpectedly early today so went out for sausage rolls (cringe!) so I'll have to be extra careful later.

You've done so, so well so far and the exercise will probably offset it. Plus, it's Friday! Wink

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 23/04/2021 15:14

Mine just arrived by post, I have three stone to lose after losing 9 after gastric banding - I'm just stuck with the 3 stone.
I've done it before and lose a stone a month if I stick to it.
The first 10 days is hard but after that it gets easier.
I just cannot bear another fat summer.
Starting weight 13.7
Goal weight 10.7 maybe less we'll see.
Starting tomorrow. Weigh in in a week.
Good luck everyone.

3Britnee · 23/04/2021 15:28

Thanks lorah, my house has never been so clean where I'm trying to distract myself😂

Noneofthathere · 23/04/2021 15:45

I tried the porridge at lunch time, bleurgh. Looked like slop and tasted like sweet slop, not any porridge I've ever had. Not going to punish myself with stuff I don't like so after a mouthful I binned it. Had a strawberry bar instead, it's OK but not amazing.

I bought a 2 week mix box and I'm pleased with it as there are things I wouldn't have selected. I'm keeping track of what I like so I can re order.

3Britnee · 23/04/2021 15:58

If you do t like things at first, try them again a few weeks later, your tastebuds change as you go along. I don't know if that's the same if you eat food as well,as opposite just having products.

3Britnee · 23/04/2021 15:58

*As opposed

Good point, there's another sachet so I'll leave it for a while

Oh, I tried the porridge the other day and thought the same! Like a really weird thin custard with a few flakes of oats thrown in. Had the Shepherd's pie yesterday and it tasted pretty bad, but I was so grateful for something that tasted vaguely savoury. Today I tried the carbonara - and couldn't decide if it was awful or not! Kind of like the concentration of spaghetti you might see in a minestrone cup o' soup! But they did fill me up. I got the butternut squash soup in my 2 week box and that was nice -again, kind of like you'd expect packet soup to taste.
