Awesome April

Thought I would start a new thread. Hoping that April will be a better month for all of us, especially with places opening up again and hopefully continued better weather.

Weighed in at 9st4 this morning. I'm not setting a weight goal this month, instead I'll be focusing on trying to improve my fitness and general well being. Hoping that a bit of weight loss might follow.

@TheHoneyBadger that made me laugh about the Galaxy bar, I ate a ridiculous amount of chocolate and food in general when I was breastfeeding both of mine. I swear to God if I had stayed working as a wet nurse I would have stayed thin lol. 9st3.75 this morning, didn't eat very much overall yesterday cause I felt so rough, although it was all carby and didn't even manage 5,000 steps. Luckily feeling better today. Hope everyone has a good day, not too long till the weekend

Scales still up Confused

Hey ho. Keep doing the right things and hope for a whoosh I guess. No gym today but I have errands to run with a fair bit of walking entailed

NutellaEllaElla · 22/04/2021 08:27

AF arrived this morning so I'm feeling rough as per usual.

I have successfully avoided scales so far this week. Might weigh in tomorrow or Saturday morning. It hasn't been a perfect week. I aim for 1500 and don't think I've gone over 1600, (or if I have it's only been a tiny bit over) which considering how I've felt I don't think is too bad. I'm the past I would have given a good go at curing myself with sugar.

Cuzco · 22/04/2021 09:29

Weigh day here. 700g off and another thank f week it's not gone up. April is really testing me with Easter, my birthday, pub lunch out and a weekend at my mum's. Much as I was excited to see the sun, it turns out it's actually much harder to be careful with calories when seeing others. Unsurprisingly.

Interviewedundercaution · 22/04/2021 15:24

Well done Cuzco. A few on here have mentioned making frittata, which made me want one. Made a spinach and feta one. Delish. Have half left for dinner or lunch tmrw.

Hangoverstruggles · 22/04/2021 21:33

Evening all,

Another good day for me today. Good as in controlled, healthy and I'm not hungry.

B banana, coffee, hard boiled egg mid morning, coffees
L big portion of yesterday's veggie curry & 130g cooked brown rice
D jacket potato & beans
S Tea, Kit Kat, small handful nuts, plum, mini chocolate lolly

1300

Went to my hiit class but didn't give it my all! Only 5 hours sleep and a long day so pleased I kept it sensible

I'm out for dinner tomorrow so will go over. Challenge is to not let that change my mindset all weekend.

Well done @Cuzco!

@NutellaEllaElla maybe weigh Monday when AF isn't messing things up? Start the week afresh?

Glad you're feeling better @Octopus37. Keep going @TheHoneyBadger

NutellaEllaElla · 22/04/2021 21:57

I don't think i'll be able to resist! I need to know if I can increase my calories a bit over the weekend!

Well done for going to your HIIT class, even if you didn't give it 100%. Better than nothing!

drspouse · 22/04/2021 22:24

Okay day for me too including a swim. Hair cut and massage tomorrow!

Interviewedundercaution · 22/04/2021 22:43

Had a good day food wise. Just over 1000 cals, cycled 21km. Weigh day tomorrow as we've been invited to a BBQ tmrw evening. Hope I've lost SOMETHING as my plan was to kick start a loss then increase my calories. Only lost 0.5kg last week.

Octopus37 · 23/04/2021 06:55

Wow @Interviewedundercaution sounds as if you are doing really well. Ate more yesterday, all carby again but didn't go crazy. Also managed good steps again, over 15,000. 9st4 this morning though. Same old situation where I've no idea if I'm due a period.

OP posts:
Interviewedundercaution · 23/04/2021 07:14

9st4 sounds tiny to me! Is that a loss?

Well I'm down 0.4kg this week 😭. I imagine if I increase my calories to a gluttonous 1200 I'll start gaining!

NutellaEllaElla · 23/04/2021 07:17

@Interviewedundercaution have you used a TDEE calculator to determine your numbers? The first 2 weeks I started I didn't lose a thing. My DH only sees a drop once a month (by up to 4lbs!). Don't give up hope yet.

NutellaEllaElla · 23/04/2021 07:41

I have stayed the same this week. 'tis ok. i'm only 1-2lbs away from maintenance. Will aim to have patience and aim not to go up.

TheHoneyBadger · 23/04/2021 08:52

I’m still up. Hoping that is due to constipation and being in the days before my period. Frustrating.

Really hungry this week and struggling to sleep which is when I’m tempted to eat because once I do I can get to sleep. I have been active with the gym and walking and will keep it up but feels like I’m going backwards somehow.

Well done for the losses even if they’re not big.

Hangoverstruggles · 23/04/2021 17:06

Aah did some annoying snacking when I got in from work / school pick up. Mini bag of haribo, handful of nuts and two handfuls of chocolate chips. I know it's not a disaster but was trying to be good as out tonight and will no doubt have 2 courses and wine! 🙄

Never mind! It's these few hundred cals here & there that undermine my good planning!

Happy Friday everyone. I hope you have some lovely weekend plans.

TheHoneyBadger · 23/04/2021 17:16

hangover aren't you near or at maintenance? I'm guessing maintenance IS a bit of a see saw act and as long as you keep reacting and bringing it back the other way rather than just sliding and letting go it's ok?

Don't know obviously because I'm about 3 fucking stone off of maintenance Wink

Keep going. I wish it wasn't so but it seems like losing and keeping off weight is a lifelong mission not a one off journey.

Hangoverstruggles · 23/04/2021 17:24

I am really Badger but a few lbs up on where I'd got too, and find a few days off the diet whacks on 5lb and I have to start again. Would love to be able to maintain the lower weight.

My plan is to diet for the next couple of weeks then see if I can get the hang of maintenance. Think you're right, it's a life long thing. What a bloody bore...

TheHoneyBadger · 23/04/2021 17:53

Isn't it? I reach these critical moments where I think do you really want to live with self berating and struggle or could you find a way to just accept yourself as you are?

I genuinely envy people who can do the latter but I can't. I feel like I am letting myself down and failing somehow by being overweight.

NutellaEllaElla · 23/04/2021 21:14

Well, we made it to Friday, well done everyone. I hope you have a nice weekend. For me, I hope that next week is better.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 24/04/2021 08:03

Hi all, I know I was MIA this week.. Only my teeth and skin got a look in in end GrinBlush Treated myself dreadfully really Sad and 2lbs up to show for it.. 9st 2.5. So I will dig a bit deeper, skin, teeth, sleep and will add glass water before and after meals. Didn't actually do too badly with water this week, definitely got 2L in each day. Need to move so have a walk today and Monday but another crazy week ahead means that will be it. Online all next weekend (3 days) so again little movement and lots of cravings... Need to reset but can only do what I can do for now, the hectic pace at moment won't last forever. Going to catch up now on everyone else's progress.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 24/04/2021 08:47

All caught up now, so much support and compassion on this thread Star

Honeybadger I have made a step towards some acceptance, ordered my SB leggings in a size up (S) and my god the difference is incredible, feels and looks so much better. Why was I thinking XS was some kind of prize? I am looking forward to some downtime in next few months, walks, summer clothes, bright night, all will help I feel. Interview, that is so low calorie wise, take care and congrats. Like you octopus, bf kept me slim and probably got me into bad snacking habits that I got away with! Especially around the 8m mark I remember feeling great (eye roll). Oh well. Have a lovely day all, a cliff walk and beach day here after a walk with a pal in my new SBs! Smile

Octopus37 · 24/04/2021 08:57

@HeyGirlHeyBoy I feel gutted when I remember how much better I felt about my body when the kids , just wish that I too would only need a small in leggings now, would need medium at least. Stradivarus are the meanest for sizing, I need to buy XL there. Have been doing quite well with teeth (have started flossing), skin care and steps this week on the whole, nevertheless had a Chinese last night so up a bit today, 9st5.25, pretty sure thats water. Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather.

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 24/04/2021 09:02

How could you need XL at that size octopus?! I simply wouldn't buy from them Grin Great re selfcare. My skin is in great condition I must say.

drspouse · 24/04/2021 09:10

1lb off, quite happy with that, group bike ride this morning.

Interviewedundercaution · 24/04/2021 09:12

Had a lovely bbq at friends last night. Drank loads (oh my head) and ate what I wanted. She forgot the potatoes and breadrolls so at least I was saved a bit there. Increasing calories to 1250 so will see what happens. Means I can have the same supper as family now if I minimise the carbs in my portion. Have a good weekend everyone.
