Thought I would start a new thread. Hoping that April will be a better month for all of us, especially with places opening up again and hopefully continued better weather.

Weighed in at 9st4 this morning. I'm not setting a weight goal this month, instead I'll be focusing on trying to improve my fitness and general well being. Hoping that a bit of weight loss might follow.

Can I please join? 2 stone of baby weight to lose and some serious toning up (when...how?!?) - pre second pregnancy I had an enviable figure and don’t mind saying so. Lockdown and severe SPD pregnancy (and chocolate biscuits Blush) has well and truly done for that. Lots of work to do and hoping to get some inspiration/will power!

NutellaEllaElla · 20/04/2021 21:06

Welcome @Llamasally, do you have a plan for losing weight? This thread is for anyone and any means, i'm just curious. Smile

@NutellaEllaElla erm....no. I am actually wondering how I will ever do anything again after my first days home alone as a mother of 2!! 🤯
NutellaEllaElla · 20/04/2021 21:09

Oh right! Is now a good time to start a diet?? Sounds like you might have enough stress as it is!

Llamasally · 20/04/2021 22:01

Yes definitely- I am certain I will feel better and be a better mummy mentally and physically if I am getting my body back!

Interviewedundercaution · 20/04/2021 22:36

What plans are you considering, Llama? Are you breastfeeding?

TheHoneyBadger · 21/04/2021 06:53

Scales are still stubbornly up. Off to the gym in half an hour then a full on day at work. Maybe that will shift things

Octopus37 · 21/04/2021 08:14

@Llamasally congratulations on your baby. Weighed 9st5.5 this morning, not sure why cause yesterday wasn't too bad, food so so and good steps. Also tmi but upset stomach. Had the jab yesterday so felt a bit yuk in the night but ok now. All a bit difficult here with my Dad being down. Sorry to say but he is awkward and demanding. DH and me are also sharing a room with DS2, DH didn't get enough sleep last night, so is understandably grumpy, thing we need to switch things tonight. All in all happy days. Nevermind, at least the sun is shining.

Welcome @Llamasally I'm currently on mat leave with my second who is almost eight months old. Started this diet, my first ever, in Feb and I wish I'd been more careful sooner. It's too easy to use babies/ tiredness etc as excuses (albeit good ones) and then the problem is just worse later when you do decide to do something about it. Good luck!!

Hangoverstruggles · 21/04/2021 14:11

How's everyone doing today?

I need to drink more water this afternoon - been a coffee & tea morning!

B weetabix, banana and almond milk
L veggie soup & chicken sandwich using thins
D just made a huge pan of veggie curry with cauliflower, courgette, tomatoes, lemongrass, ginger and coconut cream. Will have tonight with brown rice.

Leaves me enough for a yogurt or Kit Kat in the evening (it'll be the Kit Kat for sure 🤣)

Low energy today but feeling in control food wise 👍🏻

Welcome @Llamasally Are you planning on calorie counting?

Hangoverstruggles · 21/04/2021 14:13

@Octopus37 hope you're feeling better after you jab? Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Hope you all get more sleep tonight!

And @NutellaEllaElla hope you're feeling better today too

@TheHoneyBadger don't think too much about the scales. You're doing all the right things so hopefully a whoosh coming your way 🤞

NutellaEllaElla · 21/04/2021 14:17

Ooh I love things made with Coconut cream. Any things! Not so long ago I made a 'Bounty' cake (best cake i've ever had in my life) and that used coconut cream. Soooooo goooood.

I am feeling a smidge better than yesterday thanks for asking. I'm feeling hopeful that i'll slowly continue to feel better. Still no real idea what's gone wrong.

B: Honey on toast, yoghurt, OJ
L: Minestrone soup
D: Dirty macaroni cheese from the Pinch of nom book. I really enjoyed this when I made it before but i'm going to try to pad it out a bit with broccoli and mushroom. I like high volume dinner!

I've eaten a reasonable amount of cut pineapple and it was bloody delicious and good value calorie wise. There will be more treats but I feel more in control of it thanks to better snack planning.

This is feeling like a long old week though!

TheHoneyBadger · 21/04/2021 17:22

Manic day and I’ve already hit all goals. Just broke my fast by scoffing 6 cold hard boiled eggs!

Having steak later, didn’t get round to it last night. Protein fest today

Awesome April
NutellaEllaElla · 21/04/2021 18:25

6 hard boiled eggs?!! How many boiled eggs do you keep on hand? Your farts are going to be toxic Grin

TheHoneyBadger · 21/04/2021 18:50

I had eggs that were going to go out of date so boiled them last night. I’m so cold! A downside of fasting. Had my eggs and a mini fake kitkat but still not warming up. No farts yet so can’t put your theory to the test Wink

Interviewedundercaution · 21/04/2021 20:51

Absolutely starving today. Just had a bread roll to take me over my allowance.

Llamasally · 21/04/2021 20:55

@Cuzco thanks and I am still in the biscuits phase after giving birth and need to stop - as you say it’ll just make it harder later!
Llamasally · 21/04/2021 20:58

@Interviewedundercaution

@Interviewedundercaution no not BFing anymore so no excuses there! I am debating whether to just try cutting out the junk and smaller portions to start with. Moving to perhaps one small treat a day would be good progress at the moment as I have been really letting rip with the chocolate/cake/crisps etc etc in this pregnancy Blush. I’m very open to tips, not really dieted before!

Welcome @Llamasally Are you planning on calorie counting?

@Hangoverstruggles no I won’t do calorie counting, I don’t really feel it’s for me and too much hassle. I’m thinking of trying to both cut portions and eat slower/stop when starting to feel full and limiting to one small treat a day, like a few squares of chocolate not a whole bar. Also got some Greek yogurt and honey to have as a treat. I haven’t really dieted before and have been able to eat what I like, so I think I need to start gently at least...but on the other hand I would like to see some results Hmm
drspouse · 21/04/2021 21:05

Good day here, managed to have some light meals, on track after eating too much over Easter and saved enough for some Bombay mix tonight.

Llamasally · 21/04/2021 21:05

Ok so kind of starting today...I had:

B: muesli and blueberries (basically the same every day). Banana mid morning.
L: ham sandwich and 2 pieces of malt loaf (we don’t have much in at the moment and desperately need to do a well-planned shop!)
D: sweet and sour chicken and rice

I am very pleased to say I have had no ‘treats’ at all today, unless the malt loaf counts that is. I really need to sort my water intake out though, always struggle to drink enough then feel awful!

TheHoneyBadger · 21/04/2021 21:15

Llama. Gently sounds like a good plan - hopefully reigning in the snacks and portion sizes will be enough to start losing and won't feel too much like deprivation.

I'll have burnt an insane amount of calories today and I'm guesstimating only taken in 1000 so huge deficit. If the scales are still stuck up tomorrow I will be miffed.

TheHoneyBadger · 21/04/2021 21:17

PS when ds was a very diddy baby I slept with a big bar of galaxy by my bed so when he woke up for feeding I could just get him out of his moses basket and stick a lump of chocolate in my mouth to sooth myself from the trauma of being awake and breastfeeding again Grin

TheHoneyBadger · 21/04/2021 21:36

I got a reminder that I'm giving blood next Tuesday - mentioning it here because I seem to remember someone gave at about the same time as me last time so it might jog others memory to book slots if they haven't yet.

Hangoverstruggles · 21/04/2021 22:01

@TheHoneyBadger that might be me! I have an appointment booked end of May on a Sunday morning - already looking forward to the well deserved snacks 😁

I've had a good day, although no exercise. Day off and have just been pottering around doing house work and admin. Needed a peaceful day.

Posted my meals earlier, just had a Kit Kat & some grapes on top of that.
