Thought I would start a new thread. Hoping that April will be a better month for all of us, especially with places opening up again and hopefully continued better weather.

Weighed in at 9st4 this morning. I'm not setting a weight goal this month, instead I'll be focusing on trying to improve my fitness and general well being. Hoping that a bit of weight loss might follow.

Morning all,

I'm back after my two weeks off the diet. I indulged over Easter weekend, and then had last week off work with the children - I've somehow gained 5lb 😩

We had lots of days out and I kept my exercise classes going so fairly active, but also chips, ice creams and the main issue - chocolate in the evening due to being completely frazzled! No booze. I'm surprised it's as bad as it is as my meals have been very good, must be the extra treats and the Chinese, and two pub meals that have done it. Why is it SOOO easy to gain?!

Anyway, so 10st 4 this morning.
Plan is water, 1300 cals and exercise 3 times a week minimum

I have an outdoor meal out on Friday but will order wisely and driving so no wine.

Birthday is just under 3 weeks. Want to be 10st for that (and will no doubt gain it all again!)

Thanks for always being here😘

Morning. Enjoy your meal octopus and your walk Nutella.

I’m not weighing this morning. Horrible insomnia and ended up eating halloumi and crackers and gherkins in the early hours.

Work then gym today.

NutellaEllaElla · 19/04/2021 09:33

Panic not @Hangoverstruggles! I bet 3lbs of that will melt off by the weekend. It's all the salt making you retain water!

Hangoverstruggles · 19/04/2021 09:47

Let's hope so@NutellaEllaElla Fingers crossed for your weigh in at end of the week.

Sorry you had a bad night @TheHoneyBadger. Hope you get through the day ok. Fingers crossed you sleep well tonight after gym.

@Octopus37 enjoy your meal out tonight. Wrap up warm!

Great to see some steady loses. Well done to all of you for sticking at it. Loving your goals @HeyGirlHeyBoy - self care definitely feeds into a healthy diet mindset. Will use you as my inspiration for this week!

TheHoneyBadger · 19/04/2021 15:22

Didn’t see your post this morning hangover. Don’t worry it’ll soon go again.

I’ve fasted so far today and been busy at work and burned 1550 calories already. Rather hoping my friend isn’t up for the gym Blush

Managed to get a lot of work and organising done today so the rest of the week is a little less onerous.

NutellaEllaElla · 19/04/2021 16:07

I've been feeling completely exhausted for no good reason today. I've therefore wanted to snack more thinking it'll perk me up. I was shaking at around 10.30am and had a slice of honey on toast but this doesn't make much sense to me. I can't have been low in sugar as I had orange juice and toast honey for breakfast just a couple of hours earlier.

I wonder if it's the low iron thing, even though i've had the soluble supplement, plus lots of iron rich veggies. I've felt like this off and on for the past week. It's a good job i'm working from home today as i've worked from bed for most of it. Hardly have the energy for a walk but will definitely drag myself.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 19/04/2021 18:34

Logging for the day and it's not pretty. I'm here making healthy lunches for my dc but I am finding it hard to reach myself at the moment!
B: berries and Greek yoghurt
L: banana, mandarin, two handfuls almonds
And then.. A packet of roundies and a share packet of haribo. Feel sick. Finished them at 3.30 so I'm just not going to eat again now and remind myself not to do that tomorrow.. Not good. Will officially meet my goals but still.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 19/04/2021 18:34

Strange Nutella re shaking... Hope you're OK.

drspouse · 19/04/2021 20:33

Sugar doesn't last that long, though you could be unwell, tired or anxious or a number of other reasons for shaking.

NutellaEllaElla · 19/04/2021 20:42

I have had the same breakfast everyday for many months so it was weird. I think somethings going on with me lately, i've got another blood test booked in next week. Hopefully it'll just go away on it's own as it arrived...

Despite all of the above, I kept my calorie count below 1600 today and went for my walk. I've brushed my teeth and am in bed now so that's me done for the day Grin

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 19/04/2021 20:55

Me too Nutella! [Waves from under the covers!]

TheHoneyBadger · 19/04/2021 21:23

Me three now Smile

I ate roast gammon and a few roast potatoes. Not so bad BUT I then (I'm ashamed to say) melted about 50g butter and a spoon of honey and golden syrup and added oats and stirred (like a flapjack mix) and ate it.

It was a mad craving out of nowhere.

Hoping the fact I'm set to burn about 2300 cals and that I didn't eat anything else earlier in the day means I still come out with a modest deficit. Also the fibre of unsoaked oats might counter some of it? Possibly wishful thinking there.

NutellaEllaElla · 19/04/2021 21:39

Hehe that really made me smile that we're all tucked up Smile. Bed is the best place ever.

Hangoverstruggles · 20/04/2021 06:37

So much for sleep - wide awake until past 3am, heading out for work now so only 2.5 hours last night. Let's hope I can keep my resolve and not reach for sugar all day!

Hope you're feeling better @NutellaEllaElla.
@TheHoneyBadger the flapjack mix sounds delicious! Sounds like your were in a massive deficit so shouldn't be much harm done

@HeyGirlHeyBoy that is so me, so good with meals but end up undoing it with sugar. Don't beat yourself up - chuck it in the fuck-it bucket

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 20/04/2021 08:16

Thanks hangover! No hope for it today anyway as I'm racing after work to an appointment it will be dinner time once home then head down to do an assignment. Eek. Will be glad to do teeth skin and lights out 10.30! Have a good day all.

NutellaEllaElla · 20/04/2021 08:31

Eugh that sounds rough Hangover.

NutellaEllaElla · 20/04/2021 14:00

Hey, how is everyone getting on?

I've basically eaten all my snacks for the day which could make getting through my 3-4pm slump a challenge.

When i'm not feeling great, I sometimes think I can let up on my calorie goal and be nice to myself. But as DH said, eating more treats doesn't make me feel any better so what's the point? I'll just feel slightly disappointed after that it didn't help! Logic and reason doesn't always help with cravings though.

TheHoneyBadger · 20/04/2021 14:22

Yeah they're generally disappointing and don't feel like enough, or maybe it's just me whereby once I start snacking I just want more - like my brain is going mmm - what next.

I've fasted so far today. Having steak and veg later. Gym first thing in the morning before work.

Octopus37 · 20/04/2021 15:44

@NutellaEllaElla hope you are feeling better today, good that you are getting checked out. Know what you mean about thinking that extra snacks will make your feel better and then finding that it doesn't work. Just had the first dose of the AZ jab. Had a lovely pub trip last night, only had two pints but goes without saying that I can feel it today. Didn't weigh in this morning cause I had loads of food as well.

OP posts:
TheHoneyBadger · 20/04/2021 17:19

Ds has gone out playing and not sure when he'll be back so steak is probably on hold till tomorrow. I have left over gammon and roast potatoes in the fridge so will likely just make a tortilla once I can summon the energy.

Just had a good (for me) walk to pick up some glasses from a gifting page. Which has inspired me again to have another mini clearout (I never quite get on top of it) and post things to give away starting with a couple of pairs of shoes that I never wore more than once.

Hope you enjoyed your pub trip Octopus - I'm quite jealous - none of the pubs have opened locally to me so I haven't been yet. Probably a good thing really as I can't resist a few pints and.... calories.

NutellaEllaElla · 20/04/2021 17:43

Thanks Octopus, not better today though unfortunately. I dragged myself out to buy low cal snacky things as it is inevitable right now. Some healthy stuff like Strawberries and Pineapple and some bargainous things like oreo looking ice creams from Aldi - 100 calories a piece! And Raspberry sorbet, also low cal. Plus meringue nests which are great value at 50 cals each and go nicely with strawberries.

Hangoverstruggles · 20/04/2021 18:21

Hi all,

Good plan on getting low cal snack options. Fighting against cravings is hard!

I've had a surprisingly ok day.

B late breakfast of yog & blueberries at my desk
L homemade veggie soup and a sushi pack
D just put some chicken, cherry toms, courgette and chilli in oven for a tray roast.

Leaves me with a decent amount for later when I finally crash. This warm weather is helping .

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 20/04/2021 18:40

Yum yum yum Hangoverstruggles!

TheHoneyBadger · 20/04/2021 18:44

Ooh definitely adding meringue nests to my next shop. I thought they’d be way more than that.

NutellaEllaElla · 20/04/2021 20:45

Oh yeah and the light squirty cream too
