Awesome April

Thought I would start a new thread. Hoping that April will be a better month for all of us, especially with places opening up again and hopefully continued better weather.

Weighed in at 9st4 this morning. I'm not setting a weight goal this month, instead I'll be focusing on trying to improve my fitness and general well being. Hoping that a bit of weight loss might follow.

Yes please. I'm about 75kg (weighing April first after two weeks trying to lose so hopefully down a bit.) I'd love to take off four kiloes in April. So my goal weight will be whatever I am on the first minus four. If that makes sense?

Trying to take it slow this time, temptation is to crash diet but that doesn't work so well for me.

drspouse · 31/03/2021 09:51

Checking in ready for tomorrow, I have had a much better week so far, and weighing in on Sat morning.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 31/03/2021 10:15

Thanks octopus.

TheHoneyBadger · 31/03/2021 10:19

Just marking place but will post on old one till tomorrow.

NutellaEllaElla · 31/03/2021 18:29

Thank you, checking in

Cuzco · 01/04/2021 07:50

Checking in with a new name for a new month. It's a bit random, but I have followed your kind words from last month to be more positive and not use @Overweight anymore.

Off to weigh myself shortly.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 01/04/2021 09:13

Yay! Good move Cuzco!

NutellaEllaElla · 01/04/2021 09:46

I am happy to hear that Smile
DH and I are going for a bike ride in a bit.

TheHoneyBadger · 01/04/2021 10:07

Nice Cuzco.

Scales still up a bit but waiting for period to end and a few more days between me and my wagon fall before being concerned. My weigh in day has migrated to Friday from Thursday.

Goals for the month, I would really really really like to see under 13st7 on the scales. It's ambitious but that's what I want. Gym reopening on the 12th so getting back to the gym is on the list too.

FlatteredFool · 01/04/2021 10:24

Thanks for the new thread. I will try and engage with this one Blush Not weighed myself for ages and have been so hungry lately that I dread to think what I weigh now.

Cuzco · 01/04/2021 11:07

Thanks for the new thread and kind messages.

81.4kg/12.8 stone, so that's 1.4kg/3lbs off. I'm very happy to have nudged under 13stone and after a few weeks of lesser losses, a helpful reminder of what can be achieved when I have my bloody minded attitude back in place. Technically still obese (nerver mind overweight Grin) but still going in the right direction.

The main issue though is I don't look any different! I've lost as much as my seven month old baby now weighs and I can't tell!!! Especially, I still have post c-sections big and saggy tummy. So much more to keep going after. Need to get back on the idea of some strength and toning exercises because I never did that. I'm only walking.

As always, not putting a time limit on goals. My next target is to weigh less than DH who is about 80kg and there after that goal will be 75kg. I'm going to relax slightly for Easter and then it's my birthday so as look as I don't creep up, I think I'll have to be content with that over the next two weeks.

Wishing you all indeed an awesome April.

theotherfossilsister · 01/04/2021 12:11

Weighed today 76.4 then when I moved scales 75.2 so not sure which is accurate. (New scales.) Which ever it is I'm up from three weeks ago when weighed at rheumatology, and feeling pretty down as I've already cut so much out. Telling myself it's period (due tomorrow) but very determined to lose weight in April. Just seems not fair at all especially as dp has cut down a lot less than me and lost lots.

I have his old phone so all my exercise gets recorded as his, and I joke that he's burnt all my exercise calories and I've done all his eating. Feeling so dashed.

Maybe the small treats (a couple of wine spritzers abd one frangipane derailed me but I didn't have anything else like that for three weeks)

Going to go running every other day this month as well as walking everywhere. Also, absolutely no frangipane or chocolate or crisps (been doing this anyway except for one night)

Going to weigh again in a fortnight.

Congratulations @cuzco. I bet you look a bit different even if you can't see it yet. Also it must be far harder with a seven week old.

ajk010421 · 01/04/2021 12:37

Hi everyone! Long time lurker so thought id pluck up the courage and join :)

Determined for this month to be that month where I come to terms with all the mindless eating I've been doing for the past few months. My main issue is accountability so hoping by joining this thread I overcome that!

I weighed myself in this morning at 140 lbs - I don't normally weigh myself as I can just tell when the pounds have piled on, but hoping this does indeed put a number on it!

Onwards and upwards

Octopus37 · 01/04/2021 15:47

@Cuzco like the new name much better. No weigh day for me. 10,000 steps for me so far today and some water. Food not as good but nevermind

Welcome @ajk010421

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 01/04/2021 20:06

Cuzco we read somewhere last year 4 weeks to feel it, 8 weeks to see it and 12 weeks to hear it. Smile

drspouse · 01/04/2021 20:31

Not a brilliant start to April having made flapjack AND Easter nests but not too bad as I also went for a bike ride and a short walk.

ApplyWithin · 01/04/2021 21:33

I’m in for April! I’ll probably be fully in once the blasted Easter eggs have gone but doing my best until Sunday.

I lost 20lb last summer and felt amazing, kept it off until Jan and have regained 7lb. Really want to keep myself accountable and in control and not allow it to go any further otherwise I don’t think I’ll ever have the willpower to shift a lot of weight again.

Starting 10st 10lb, Goal 10st 3lb (where I was in Jan) then 9st 12lb ultimate happy weight.

ApplyWithin · 01/04/2021 21:34

I’m also making Easter nests with DC tomorrow. 😬

drspouse · 01/04/2021 22:19

@ApplyWithin

I’m also making Easter nests with DC tomorrow. 😬
DS REALLY loved bashing the Shreddies. Watch out for flying rolling pin.
Hangoverstruggles · 02/04/2021 07:40

Hi all, thanks for the new thread Octopus! Great title!

I've had a good week so far - sticking to cals and managed one run and hiit class (started again outside this week!! 🙌🏻)

Will weigh in a bit. Going to aim for on cals today but have a few family meet-ups that means tomorrow and definitely Sunday will be a blow out! Hopefully my good days this week will level it all out.

Welcome newbies @theotherfossilsister @ajk010421 @Apply and great to see a new name @Cuzco - your progress is fantastic!

I'll weigh this morning and post some goals for April in a bit.

Cuzco · 02/04/2021 08:20

WTF is in an Easter nest? DS came home with one from nursery, and aside from dealing with the sugar high aftermath, there are these weird mini worm chocolate things all over the dining room floor!

TheChild · 02/04/2021 08:47

Hello 😊 could I join please? I have another 6lbs to go until I get to my big goal of 11st10lbs and I will officially be classed as a healthy weight in terms of BMI (I've never been a healthy weight as an adult!) and it's been over 2 years in the making.

I've had a renewed focus for a week now and weighed in this morning and lost 2lbs. I'm a low carber and have had to go back to tracking everything on MFP to find out exactly where I was going wrong!

Octopus37 · 02/04/2021 09:19

Meant to say yesterday welcome @ajk010421, @ApplyWithin, @theotherfossilsister and @TheChild.

Weighed 9st4.5 this morning. Not eating brilliantly at the moment, but aiming to get my steps in and drink lots of water today. Have to share that M&S Extreme Chocolatey Hot Cross Buns are an absolute bargain at 214 calories each. Have a "good Friday" all.

TheHoneyBadger · 02/04/2021 09:28

Welcome to newcomers.

According to scales today I’m only 0.2lbs less than last Friday. At least it’s not a gain I guess!

I did kind of have an end of term bed fest for a few days so shouldn’t be surprised.
