Thought I would start a new thread. Hoping that April will be a better month for all of us, especially with places opening up again and hopefully continued better weather.

Weighed in at 9st4 this morning. I'm not setting a weight goal this month, instead I'll be focusing on trying to improve my fitness and general well being. Hoping that a bit of weight loss might follow.

Thanks @HeyGirlHeyBoy, telling myself that I will get back on track. Also focusing on self-care, have bought the L'oreal Paris Age Perfect day and night cream. Have also just been to the dentist and been told that I need to start flossing, luckily ok apart from that. Think its a case of mind over matter as really need to feel ok in my clothes in the Summer. Have eaten a cereal bar and a Lidl Fruit Moroccan Couscous. Unfortunately it had more calories in than I realised so up to 685 cals so far today. I've really got to focus on mind over matter. So glad that we've kept this forum going. Will also be drinking lots of water.

Octopus I think you're not giving yourself much credit for having maintained to within a few pounds for a year! You didn't have a big jump like I've had now twice! I think you're very steady plus you've really upped your activity. This morning's weight isn't real, a good day or two and you'll be good to actual weight. Having some carrots and hummus here now.

TheHoneyBadger · 12/04/2021 16:55

Hi - sorry to those feeling annoyed with themselves. Onwards and upwards and all that. It's all remediable.

I went to the gym, came home and got ready for work, then walked to work and a fair bit of running around there. I'm over 10,000 steps already for the first time in an absolute age and am already at my calories burn target of 2100 (which I only hit once over the Easter holidays) and have 53 active minutes and 18 floors so far. First 'winner' day in a long time and I'm hoping it offsets yesterday's fish and chips.

Think I might sleep well tonight. Starting the day with the gym is really good! Aiming to do the same on Wednesday.

NutellaEllaElla · 12/04/2021 16:58

Crikey, I have so much respect for people who can drag themselves to a gym ever before work! Nice one Badger.

After my meal plan today, I have 250cals to burn. What would you 'spend' it on?

TheHoneyBadger · 12/04/2021 18:11

I'd attempt to spend it on nothing but have the reassurance that if I did get hungry late in the evening I could have a decent snack.

drspouse · 12/04/2021 19:44

I'm planning a glass of wine and popcorn when I've got back from the supermarket.

TheHoneyBadger · 12/04/2021 20:38

Lamb kofta, small portion of rice and lots of broccoli and soya beans for dinner. No clue on calories but it's the only meal I've had today and the only calories bar a couple of gin and slimlines so I'm thinking a good day given I'll have burned over 2600cals by midnight.

Making stew tomorrow so will be able to eat plenty if it's a hungry day after the exercise today but without too much concern as it's low calorie and high nutrition. I have tesco coming tomorrow and did buy myself a little box of fudge which I'll treat myself to some of.

drspouse · 12/04/2021 20:54

Downgraded to a cup of tea and a crumpet (warmer and I'd run out of calories).

AprilFoolaround · 12/04/2021 21:27

1400 calories (rounded up) for today. I'm hungry now though. According to MFP I've got 350 calories spare including the exercise calories but I'll not be using them as a general rule. I really want to fit comfortably into my size 10 whatevers by the summer. I've done quite well on the water front today and had halloumi with olives, beetroot, baby leaf salad and balsamic vinegar and honey with some orzo pasta. It was really nice. I've never mixed balsamic and honey before but will definitely do it again. I usually use balsamic glaze but couldn't find it in my messy cupboard so improvised. I had strawberries for dessert. No snacks today, no chocolate, no sweets, no biscuits. Am I thinner yet? Grin

Cuzco · 12/04/2021 21:52

I've been hungry today too. I've eaten pretty much the same as I have done for most of the last two months, but after the weekend's indulgence it's as if my body has remembered what it's like to run on carbs and sugar like a long lost friend! I also had zero motivation to go for a walk so I didn't. Back on it tomorrow, I've got some National Trust tickets booked so that's an incentive.

AprilFoolaround · 12/04/2021 23:35

I feel sick hungry now. Probably not helped by bouncing on my ball to increase my activity levels. According to my Fitbit I've burnt 2395 calories today. I've eaten 1400 (well 1392 to be precise) so that's a hefty deficit today of over a thousand calories. No wonder I feel hungry! I'd forgotten what an empty stomach at night feels like and it's pretty unpleasant to start with but I soon got used to it last time and my stomach was much less bloated after even just a couple of days.
Keep it up everyone, we can do this!

TheHoneyBadger · 13/04/2021 06:55

Definitely April, looking much slimmer.

I’ve another new low today of 13:11 dead on. Let’s hope I can hang onto it or ideally improve on it for official weigh in day.

NutellaEllaElla · 13/04/2021 07:12

I find that drinking lots of water helps me if I'm getting hungry. You are on a roll badger.

TheHoneyBadger · 13/04/2021 07:19

Hope so because I need to lose a lot of rolls! Yes to water and constantly having a cup of herbal tea for me. Warming flavour seems to help me.

Years ago when I was fasting for the first time I would find half a teaspoon of marmite in a cup of boiled water helped too.

Octopus37 · 13/04/2021 07:58

Thats fantastic @TheHoneyBadger. @AprilFoolaround I hate that empty hungry feeling, find it really hard to deal with, but find a hot drink can help. Did ok yesterday, no snacking, lots of water, steps, 9st4.5 this morning, obviously a bit of a mad fluctuation. Aiming for the same today, no snacking, loads of water, good steps.

Knew it octopus! Great news, and you HB. April I have felt that and I would say, watch today now because I can tend to overeat to compensate so be ready maybe for extra but healthy stuff to keep you going. Feeling grand today but dreadful sleep so prioritising that for myself.
Goals: 3L water, no food after 7pm, 10.30 lights out, skin and teeth

AprilFoolaround · 13/04/2021 08:51

It's weird as I expect to be starving for breakfast the next morning but I'm sat here happily with a cup of tea and won't get my breakfast until I've finished it.
That's a great drop Octopus!

TheHoneyBadger · 13/04/2021 09:15

Great Octopus - didn't bother reacting to that random 7 you saw as I knew it couldn't be real.

AprilFoolaround · 13/04/2021 09:45

62.85kg this morning. Just debating what to make for dinner tonight. The children are so fussy as to what they will eat without moaning.

AprilFoolaround · 13/04/2021 09:51

When you add up your water intake do you include the water in any drinks or just pure water? I only include pure water but would herbal teas count for example? Obviously not any drinks with sugar or lots of milk.

NutellaEllaElla · 13/04/2021 10:03

Yeah herbal teas count in my book. I'm still loving the Pinch of Nom books for recipes.

NutellaEllaElla · 13/04/2021 10:24

I'm having a thirsty week clearly. I drank 2.5 - 3 litres yesterday and have had 1 litre already today!

Cuzco · 13/04/2021 10:26

I don't count the water in other drinks, but I know I've had it, IYSWIM, and have it logged under the drinks. I don't actually know how much water I should be having? I'm typically drinking at least 2 x 750ml bottles, one 350ml cup and at least two pints of squash per day, and sometimes tea.

NutellaEllaElla · 13/04/2021 13:38

I just saw this and had to post it here. It is so true. I correct my mother every time she gleefully tells me that a giant piece of cake i'm eating/about to eat is disgusting. I am unlearning her/this weird association. Food is neutral .

Awesome April
AprilFoolaround · 13/04/2021 16:22

I want all those foods now! Especially the danish. I'm struggling today as sick hungry but we will be having dinner at 5 so not long to wait now. I think I'll do a halloumi and salad burger type thing with a few chips. I've been busy sorting things out on the house today and have got a fair amount done. It gets so messy here, I'm not sure exactly how but it drives me nuts.
